  1. Sounds not bad at all, especially compared to resetting my wife's key fob on her Toyota when it stopped opening the doors....

Neighbours must have thought I was insane opening and shutting the door and turning it on and off and holding down buttons on the key fob and swearing my head off when it wasn't working.... :D

  2. If it was fine after a jump start it may be the alternator is on its way out and not charging the battery.

If you can put a voltmeter across the battery terminals when it is running you should be getting about 14volts. Less than that and your alternator probably isn't supplying enough power.

  3. I think the private owner is allowed to specify their own speed limit. So if the M6 Toll owners say 70 then you are screwed. But legally speaking they could say unlimited and then the cops shouldn't be able to do anything about the speed you are going.

Of course if you drive dangerously you are still going to get pulled over and the book thrown at you (quite rightly so).

I've thought of a plan E, who wants to club together with me and build a toll road that has no speed limit. We would make a killing!! :D

  4. If it is not a public highway paid for by public money then there is no official speed limit on it (this is how race tracks work).

If the tolls are paying for the upkeep of the M6 toll it could be classified as a private highway paid for by private money hence no speed limit.

You could still get done for reckless driving though.

  5. If/when I go for a GTR I would still have a proper lightweight for fun. ! know of a caterham currently on sale with a trailer that everyone of you would enjoy as much as the zed and its on sale for £12.5k For a track would be great and if you bin it the max damage would be £12k compare to binning a GTR at £60k

You are probably less likely to kill yourself in a GT-R if you bin it though :)

  6. Not to mention air con that isn't used for a year or so and then turned on could have become a legionnaires disease breeding ground....

You really don't want that to happen!! :scare:

  7. I was kind of expecting that they wouldn't want to know, but surely if there is a known defect with a specific car there is an onus on the manufacturer to rectify it even if the car was not sourced in the UK.

Surely if Nissan refused to rectify a known defect on a JDM and then something happened they could be held liable in some way...

Maybe one for the legally inclined to ponder over :)

  8. Not really related if it's a MY07 recall but does anybody know how recalls would affect JDM's?

Would we be able to nip into a UK Nissan dealer and get the issue fixed or would we be expected to shell out for it?
