  1. Hi all Thinking of moving to a 370Z from my beloved 350Z. Not a car buff, just love driving. This 370Z has been on Piston Heads for a bit and is describted as minor Cat D but the price is obviously great. Question: If you intended to hang on to it so weren't too bothered about re-sale, would you give it a shot? Any other downsides you can think of? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3838471.htm thoughts appreciated.
  2. For those of you not old enought to remember, the subject header is a nod towards an Ian Dury album. However..... The real purpose of the post is to give people a nod towards a potential brake set up if your thinking of renewing. My discs were badly pitted (long boring story) and I needed to replace. After some conversations with people on here and lots of reading, CS provide me with a set of the new EBC Optimax discs with Yellostuff pads and HEL braided lines (in a natty orange!). I also picked up some Motul brake fluid from Opie Oils. I got a local garage to fit everything for me after a long chat with them about ensuring the hubs were super clean before fitting. I then used the information from a "sticky" on here about bedding in (one posted by ZMANALEX). To be honest, I was really apprehensive given the amount of horror stories on here about post fitting problems. I am delighted to say that the set up is fantastic. Not a single squeak, noise, judder and after bedding in the stopping power is phenomenal. Huge thanks to CS for putting up with my inane and constant questioning and for supplying everything so quickly. Happy man
  3. Wrong side unfortunately. Thanks though!
  4. I hope not Mike. Nissan quoted me for the housing unit and glass at a ridiculous price. Maybe a scrap yard trip?
  5. Hi all Some cretin kicked my off-side wing mirror off last night I am trying to source the black plastic mounting plate bit as the actual mirror housing and glass are fine. Does anyone know of a stockist for this part or a part number? Incidentally, I went down to the main dealer to price up and they couldn't even be bothered to come out and look. Then quoted me for a casing and glass ( not what I asked for ) + painting with a 3 week wait! Any help gladly received.
  6. Hey ho..... It's off to ebay, Piston Heads we go.....
  7. Many thanks Ebized Out of interest, what did I do wrong?
  8. So can I assume they are unlikely to be Veilside parts.........? Luckily wasn't thinking of buying anyway, just pointing it out.
  9. Hi Just spotted this on ebay, anyone know anything about this one? Cheers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-Z33-WHITE-VEILSIDE-DEMO-CAR-SALE-LOOK-/260655633463?pt=Automobiles_UK
  10. Hi All Quick update. Very many thanks for all the advice but a real "big up" to CS who sorted me with the Scorpion exhaust and got Scorpion to deliver direct to me to save time. Now fitted and absolutely love the sound, JamesyJ's description earlier in the thread is spot on. Fitting was "interesting". Didn't do it myself because I am a technical "numpty"! Really surprised that no exhaust fitters in my area were interested, lots of "dont do aftermarket or fit ones we haven't supplied". Used a local garage that I trust who fitted ok but I do seem to have a rattle on particularly bad roads. The upside is that when I picked the car up they specifically asked me to bring it back in a week to ensure all was ok and that there were no fitting problems, so hopefull all will work out ok. Love the Zorst though!
  11. Hi Mate In Southampton but not yet running with coilovers (at same stage as you8!). I've been looking at the Hipermax RS, know anything about them?
  12. Hi All Many thanks for the advice. CS has sorted me with a Scorpion which I can't wait to receive and get fitted. Sounds like I should get a nice sound from it and save over £500 against replacing like for like with the stock exhaust. Happy days!
  13. Thanks Husky. Maccaman I have dropped CS a PM. Thanks for the advice.
  14. Had a good read of the section and am probably even more confused! Ideally I want to avoid having to mod to avoid fitting issues. I've looked on the trading post but didn't see any second hand ones going. Maybe time to post a wanted ad? But given some of the comments already (many thanks). I like the sound of spending say £350 to £400 to get something decent fitted. Anyone know of someone who does fitting in the Southampton area?
  15. Hi all, Please forgive the no doubt oft-used pun above! My 03 plate 350Z's exhaust is blowing quite badly. Tried the local exhaust centres (I'm in Southampton) and pretty much all referred me to the main Nissan dealer or quoted crazy waiting times. The main dealer is quoting for nearly £200 for a centre box and a further £372 for the rear box. An "all in" fixed price of £817!! Yikes...... Before I start and ebay trawl etc. I wondered if anyone could suggest any alternatives. Happy to consider non-standard cat backs ( I don't pretend to understand them) etc. Any help and guidance much appreciated. Richard
  16. Hehehehe Many thanks all for the information. I feel much better about going for the used 370Z now and can't wait to come across so holier than thou with the dealer at the weekend btw It was West Way Nissan in Southampton! Cheers !
  17. Popped into my local dealer last weekend to take a look at the new roadster (great improvement imho!). I was told that Nissan are no longer supplying cars with the "flappy paddle" and semi auto box having decided "people didn't want a non-manual sports car"!! Has anyone else heard this? I couldn't find any mention of it on the forum. I was considering buying a used 09 plate 370Z in white from my dealer but not sure if there is either a. A problem they have discovered, or b. It is likely to become difficult in terms of re-sale.
  18. May I be the first to say "Where are the pics!!!". Sounds . Based in Southampton too. We need to start a "dahn sarf " meet!
  19. What's the legal angle on lights like this? Not sure what you can/can't do. Any ideas? Richard
  20. Let me guess, you have the standard "Bose" unit? A common problem losing the left channel. Plenty of references to it on here if you search. In the end I got so fed up I changed the head unit (and speakers). Basically, it's a crap unit!
  21. Wow DJ, that is the ultimate "how long is a piece of string"? Question! Such a wide choice of wheels and will depend on many things. 1 First and foremost your own personal taste. I have found you get great advice on this forum but at the end of the day it's down to what you like. 2 How much do you want to spend? There is a huge range available. 3 Do you want a "theme" I.e. are you going down an all Nismo route for instance? 4 Then you get into the offsets (do you need spacers or not) etc. Do a few searches on wheels on the forum, loads of piccies on here. Don't think you'll have a problem shifting the Rays although personally I'd keep em as another set if you can afford to. Richard
  22. What is the point of the fanny magnet?! Would you really want to go near anything that it attracted?!!!
  23. Looking really . Some great pics there. Used to live in Kalmar many years ago, reminds me of the area.
