    Bumper repair

    I got my zed a couple of weeks ago knowing that it had damage to the front bumper, which has now been repaired and resprayed and looks good as new. The slight problem however is that there is a bigger gap between the bumper and the light / side panel on one side of the car. The bumper is actually loose on one side , you can push it back up into place but when you let go it drops a few mm. The gap isn't huge but its noticable. The engineer who checked the car pre purchase said that the car had been in a very light bump, probably when trying to park or something and it had been repaired but not to a high quality. The guy who did the spray job said he can look at it on monday, but I would be looking at around £100 labour for removing and reattaching the bumper + the cost of any plastics needed to support it back in place.. does this seem like a fair cost and any idea what the cost is likely to be for the plastics ? (for reference hes done a great job on the bumper and touched up loads of other little marks etc so pleased thus far).

    If its anything like Supagaurd then dont bother,ive got loads of bags of polish & interior spray from when i used to valet.I used to love being in the showroom listenin to them talkin absolute shite to get people to pay upto £300 for the stuff :lol:

     

    If im being honest then as far as the exterior goes do it yourself with products recommended by people on here,things like Dodo Juice,meguiars,AutoGlym etc etc :thumbs:

     

     

    Yup is supaguard but with haggling it will be about £150 for the while exterior and interior valet, polish, clean...

     

    That said if its possible to achieve the same results in a day doing it myself then might be a better option :)

    probably the window not going all the way up ?

     

    which part of the car does it come from ?

     

    dont think its the window, and kinda hard to tell where its coming from but 85mph seems to be the magic number for it starting

    just had a quote of £170 for a full valet + external clean/polish with paint guard (apparently guaranteed for 3 years)..

     

    Just wondered if any of you have experience with doing the paint guard yourself? is it worth it? and what kind of money does the kit needed to do it cost? Most importantly how long did it take you ?

    Parking the zed late at night / steering locks

    Only had the zed a few days now and dreading my weekly poker night..

     

    The problem is I have to park in a public car park which when I get there (around 8pm) is fairly full but by the time I finish poker its about 1am and the carpark is usually empty apart from my car + 2 or 3 others.

     

    Being bright orange doesnt really help matters either lol. Its not a particularly sketchy area, but lots of cars and people drive past the carpark so it will be on view easily.

     

    I was thinking of how best to secure the car and make it obvious and wondered what you guys thought about steering wheel locks? Thought it would be a nice visual thing. Also seen a few alarms which txt your phone if set off (ill be about 2mins run away from the car park)

     

    Any thoughts or advice? How do you guys get round this problem?

    Just had a quote for repairing my alezan seats. The driver seat is fairly bad and the passenger seat is a little work but nothing too major.

     

    The quote was:

     

    Drivers seat full clean & repair to 4 panels £185

    Passenger seat full clean and repair 2 panels £125

    Handbrake & Gear Stick clean and repair £25

     

    Does this seem ok to you guys? Before you ask, the driver seat is too far gone in my opinion to use care products. I have attached a photo of the worst part on the driver seat. Both seats seem very dry and cracked also in lots of areas.

    Cant decide between 2 different sets of alloys ?

     

    Simples!

     

    Just have a different pair on each side of the car.. it wont look silly as there is no way to see the car from both sides at once !

    transparent thick sticker by wheel arch

    Just been giving the new zed a clean and noticed that on the driver side by the back wheel arch there is a thick transparent sticker.. Started to peel it away a bit at the edge and looks like it will come off fine if i continue. as you look at the rear wheel arch it is just to the bottom right of the wheel

    hopefully that diagram shows where i mean. its very well placed and clean etc, the edges line up perfectly with the edges of the wheel arch etc

     

    Any ideas? Can i just pull it off ? :)

    wanted - oem 350z strutt brace cover

    There is no difference regarding fitment between 03 and 06 + ones. ATTAK Z is wrong about the colours though :surrender: , they were all silver but later cars had a gunmatal Strutbrace cover.

     

    The one I have for sale is Silver one as on 2004 cars :thumbs:

     

     

    How much are you selling one for ? :)
