    top job William
  2. The vinly doesnt show up the stone chips underneath, i had quite a few dents on my doors and you dont notice them at all. Because its not as high gloss as paint it doesnt show off any identations. Its such a shame i cant make it to wales to show everyone (friends wedding ) but if anyone is local and wants a closer look then just let me know
  3. the roof is the black paintwork, i did think about matt black but the gloss blends into the rear screen really well. I'll have to get some night shots, at dusk with the lights on it looks And the best thing compared with black... its been two days now and it still looks clean
  4. The vinyl is tougher than i thought although being white and black underneath it will show up. I am going to see how i get on over a few months then if it is a problem I am going to have a clear film put over the front bumper to protect further. Other than that i will just have the bumper re-wrapped every 8 months or so
  5. sorry rob, will try and go some. They go about an inch inside. To be honest being black underneath looks good but if it was any other colour then this would be an issue. They had an aston in which was having all the door shuts and everything done also but it is very time consuming and obviously adds to the cost significantly
  6. here are more pics, will do some really good ones when i borrow my friends camera. Work was carried out by Totally Dynamic based in Bradford. Top bunch of lads there. Cost wise, i did get it a bit cheaper because of a contact but it would be around the £900 +vat. Its not a cheap option but it was alot cheaper than a respray and a change of car The more i have it, the more i am impressed, no one at work could guess and didnt believe when i told them it wasnt painted. Told the insurance company and no probs there, have sent off v5 to dvla so now all above board.
  7. thanks for the comments guys. You are totally right, the vinyl is nowhere near a painted finish it will always lack the depth and laquer but the finish is still fantastic and from a few feet away you would be hard pushed to tell. In terms of washing, its very easy, dirt doesnt stick to it like paint and it just beads water likes it been waxed. You can wax and polish it although i haven't tried this so cant comment if it makes any difference. The only thing you need to avoid are high power jet washes and hot washes for obvious reasons. V5: by law you dont have to inform the dvla because it is a non permanent colour change, however i will be informing then as i dont want the hassle of being pulled over all the time To sum up, i am really happy with the overall look, it was always going to be a temporary change (12 months or so) hence it cant really be compared to a respray which was just not an option for me due to cost and the effects on resale value. Will get some more pics up tomorrow, the front looks really good with the black detailing. I cant believe the attention a white car gets, its certainly very different from the my stealthy black look
  8. Here is the result of the vinyl wrap, just picked her up and got a quick pic but will get more tomorrow. Really pleased with the results. Got to rush out now but i thought i'd tease you with just the one pic
  9. I know the Borla do one that is larger than stock and it sounds mega but not sure on cost as i guess its import only. I'd try Adam at Z1 for that
  10. Do you have any pic of your car with the tein suspension? Would be good to see a comparison as stew's does look pretty low Here you go mate, the Eibach kit would have been too low for me on the clearance. Mine is on 19's though.
  11. dont suppose the bonnet is an 08 bulge type is it?
  12. from what i've heard Eibach is the better kit, i have Tein on mine and the ride is very hard. However the Eibach kit does drop it a fair bit and it was too low for me.
  13. Why do you drive backwards? i tend to drive backwards when reversing
  14. latest generation fn2 civic type r, was all set to put my deposit down on the day and it felt so numb, didnt pull anything like the ep3 and looking through the rear screen gave me a headache due to the stupid glass. Interior was nice though.
  15. Paul, whats the lead time on these bits roughly? I am thinking it makes more sense to send the bits to you while i'm on holiday. Could you do them in a week? Interested in centre console, door switch panels and maybe another bit, cant decide yet
  16. i think the Zed looks great in all the colours, it just depends how flambuoyant (spellcheck) you are! Silver - very classy looking Blue - stands out and quite a unique colour Yellow - looks great on a sunny day and really stands out but personally couldn't drive a yellow one everyday. Black - makes the Zed look meanest, not very flashy and a pain to clean Grey - very stylish, but doesn't really stand out. White - Sunset - not for me, but again a nice unique colour. Its a nice choice to have
  17. i've been getting 23 mpg for about a year now! can never get it better than that.
  18. if you averaging anything over 28mpg then your not driving it hard enough!
  19. really impressed with those, will definitely have some bits done soon
  20. she is getting well looked after! how much did it cost you to have your rear screen and small sides tinted? they look really good with the black roof
