  1. thanks guys - I live in Pencoed just outside Bridgend so Avia are very near and it sounds like they'd be a good local servicer for my Z and other cars. Nice one - I'll go see them tomorrow cheers!
  2. Hi Just moved to Bridgend - does anyone know of a good service garage down here? Thanks Steve
  3. Had same thing and was bad weld or perforated pipe and so I got an 'improved' cooler from Nissan - about £125 2 years ago IIRC
  4. I had same problem - turned out to be badly made PS oil cooler and it was leaking from the weld so I had to get a new one - it cost me about £125 IIRC. Common fault apparently.
  5. I've not been able to get hold of a bluetooth adapter at a sensible price so I shoved a Nokia phone in instead which works but the voice control/pardon issue is a bit naff....but then i noticed on ebay these Parrot bluetooth kits which can sync all your contacts etc...has anyone got one? any good?
  6. Just wondered if anyone had opted for a compatible phone instead of a BT adapter. My cradle says Nokia 6310. Is there better functionality using the old phone?
  7. Thanks everyone - no progress as yet, looks like a faulty BT adapter
  8. No longer care about paint.....just want to stare at that avatar. Very cute...
  9. Def chipping. Not much to photo as they are tiny White dots spread across the frontal area. You hardly notice them unless you're looking closely. I know these cars are prone but had hoped for a while longer before things started to appear. He said he could respray again but added that unless he knew what to do differently it would probably just be the same again, and also added that he does of lot car front ends especially beemers for some reason...
  10. got the front of my gunmetal Z resprayed by local chap who I use often and is good. But a weekend of motorway driving and it's already 'prickled' with tiny White marks He's a bit gutted too and said he used 4 coats of lacquer as usual, so suggested I see if anyone knows how to improve the situation, short of protective film which I don't want to do really . Any ideas or suggestions? If lacquer is lacquer how come some cars just don't seem to chip badly when others do?
  11. tried a (brand new) adapter which fits the cradle no problem and I can see a (rather dim) Amber led when I switch ignition on. Then it flashes red. However my mobile (HTC Mozart) can't detect it, and the same happens when I tried another phone (Nokia I think ). So, are there different versions? Do I need to do something else to pair? Is my phone too new I.e is the Bluetooth possibly a later type or something like that?
  12. Ooh what happened....echo.o.o.o ..
  13. I've used the touch up paint from Nissan dealer at a surprising £4, and was impressed with it. It was gunmetal grey. I have also heard that the 3part halfords kits are good.

  15. thanks guys - dropped in to L&G today and met Dave. Was impressed and thought they seem top chaps so have booked Zed in for a P2 this Friday .... and not a cambelt... oops....how daft do I feel now?
  16. I know there's another thread but the last post was quite a long time ago...so can anyone help me with this? I need a P2 and a cambelt I think (car only done 30k miles but is a 54 plate so don;t want to risk it) - Lockwood & Greenwood (Manchester) seem to be recommended previosuly, also Lythgoe in Bolton (I did use them once, nice chap called Jim ran the service workshop IIRC, but I don;t know if they still do Nissan as I know they lost the dealership?) any help much appreciated steve
  17. fantastic trip - just under 2000 miles and the Zed was just perfect. Used a bit of oil, as you'd expect, as were fully loaded, but mpg was about 25-27!! Even fully loaded the car handled just fine and there didn't seem to be any sag in the suspension (car not GF ). New Falkens were a very good idea - and they seem to be a very good tyre. I only lost it once, overtaking johnny foreigner on a Belgian A-road in the wet, dropped to 4th and floored it and nearly did a 360!!! will post some pics if I get time this week ....and I have a fab film of gf driving over Grand St Bernard Pass with 'On Days like These' on the cd...magic! will put on youtube soon as...
  18. went through Mont Blanc tunnel once...never again! dark, dingey, smelly, slow...always always take the time to go over Just splashed out on 4 new Falken 452s (comments on these welcome...) so I'M GOOD TO GO NOW..roll on Wednesday
  19. Neilp if I don't get a better offer you can have them for that. Will report back
  20. stock size - 245/45/18 rear and 225/45/18 rear , no problem with courier, make me an offer?
  21. had a good look at the fronts and have decided to fit 4 x new Falkens all round to be on the safe side. I can be a bit of a worrier... ....so if anyone wants 4 Bridgestones for track day use or whatever they have prob got 2-3mm left.
  22. another thought....if I'm doing 1500+miles hard touring, will I need to take oil for top-up? if so, which oil should I use? do these beasties consume oil?
  23. Got Potenzas 040 all round...never had a problem to be fair..but rears are nearly down to tread indicator so have ordered 2 x Falken 452s. leaving the Bridgestones on the front as plenty tread left. Don't do track days, don't drive on the limit, car mainly used by girlfriend. Should I be concerned about different tryres front & back?
  24. blimey, what a kerfuffle. thanks for tips guys - v useful.
  25. spose so. last time I fitted these was on an old car with 7" sealed beam units....do they fit easily enough to more modern cars like the Z with those massive curved lenses?? and do they work?
