  1. brakes are supposed to be brilliant!!! variable pedal stroke ! longer travel at slower speed to give a soft control feel. shorter pedal travel at higher speed to give instant bite and sudden effect!

The Dash board is from some sort of moulded material. Leather and Suede mix is brilliant. Lower seats. The lights were the taking point...but the rear LED's were cool and the front boomerang lights are not as bad as the pictures seem to show.

wider track and wider wheels as standard.

    yep...pretty good update!

  2. WE can all talk about how the 350 is better looking etc...but seeing the car really drives home the point of what an update is all about.

more rigid body structure, less weight in key areas, better interior, better performance....and competeing against bmw, porsche and audi...are you guys going to love the S-mode gear change!!!

  3. Second gear is hard to shift when cold. It is normal. Grinding on 4th 5th and 6th is the synchro wearing out. Again normal for this box. The synchros are shite! Best time to do the work is when clutch is being changed. If your warranty covers the synchros ..then get them done and throw in a clutch as well. You will save big bucks and have a good box to do another 50k miles.

  4. i know for a fact.... (last year around this time TDI dyno run...had about 7 Z's run there ranging from 276-309bhp) all Z's have 12-15% loss from flywheel to whp readings.

IMO..best figures for tuning are WHP figures...my 276bhp car made 243.5whp, 309bhp car made 276whp....

working whp figures back and assuming a loss% just causes the whole reading to vary dyno to dyno...

for best result tune to whp figures...and TDI was using some kind of dyno that attached to the rear hubs....we even had 2 FI cars running on that day. So in short...forget flywheel figures unless you want to strip your car out and run your engine on a flywheel dyno ....

  5. Congratulations to Lewis...Massa drove well but bad luck!

Glock tried to get max points for toyota by staying out on the slicks...and it gave way at the last lap...he achieved what he took the risk for. Fortunately the slicks didnt hold up another lap...if it did...lewis finito!

    NExt season?...watchout for the following.

    HAmilton, Alonso, Raikonnen all champions.

Vettel, Kubica, Massa, Button, B.Senna?, Heidfield: All fast drivers who have the potential to win more than one race in the season, only limited by the development of the car.

My bet is raikonnen...he had the car last year that he wanted...didnt like it this year..IF he gets the car he wants..then he WILL blow everyone off the track. Raikonnen's best performances were from his mclaren days..and it clearly shows he is adriver who will beat everyone if he gets the car he wants.

Lewis...I only hope he stays in a swiss jungle completely isolated and not turn into this stupid celebrity crap...the press will eat him alive..he will lose focus on the only thng he is good at..racing cars..and then he will turn into nothing!

  6. Considering that the new movie is a continuation of Casino Royale....It makes sense.

IMO, Casino royale was the story of 007's first outing. He got whooped by a hot chick. Went a bit nuts. Finds out the chick was forced to con him and he now turns red.

New movie picks up from that. Story is very simple....find the people who made an arse out of him by using a sorry little chick. Chase bad guy kill bad guy...kill some guy in a chase who is bad... find bad guy and chase again...

Perfect ending to the story of bonds initiation to secret service!

But the editing of the whole movie does look like a bourne wannabe...but then again any movie trying to do the bourne style will always come 2nd...so you cant blame bond for trying to make it modern...just bad luck that bourne is way too high a target to hit!

  7. transmission whine...during light load to keep the speed constant....if im not wrong i think you guys would experience the same in 4th, 5th, 6th between 70-85ish...only during constant light throttle.... its part of the dna of the Z..i think..i never bothered with it as it is a recurring phenomenon during specific control inputs, speed etc..

  8. buy cheap shares, cheap homes, cheap cars...if you have the cash...if not..spend less and save so that you can buy cheap shares, cars and homes...

forget the news...the disaster happened in 2007...it exploded into our lives in 2008, all the remedies have been done mid 2008...the medicine has to fight the infection and make you better...hopefully by mid 2009 things will pick up...its a cycle of events..

unfortunately...the cycle of events is a cash cow for the media and stupid people who prefer to read/watch depressing crap so they can talk about it later on!!!

  9. breathing mods....i would say cold air intake, intercooler, plenum spacer, high lift cams, headers, HFC and exhaust. the stock ecu adjusts the fueling, cam and ignition timing etc so that all the gains you would normally get are negated to arrive close as possible to stock power.

an ECU flash/piggy back tune would use the sensors to keep your AFR as close to 14.7 as possible throughout the rev range. this however, is based on all the mods above which would result in power/Tq gain.

This is my understanding of the basics of tuning the Z with bolt on mods. not cheap!

  10. brembo calipers do have a history of this happening...i have heard of a few cases like this...i havent bled my brakes yet cos im afraid of the nipple breaking off...

Phil: if the nipple breaks inside the caliper....I hear its a complete caliper change as you cant get it out?? is this true? I might just order this replacement part prior to getting the work done..lol
