  2. cheers ian, the pics were taken with a £40 5mps tesco camera, i would really like a dslr, i used to be quite well into my 35mm slr but since the digital revolution its faded but i will be hunting for sub £500 dslr soon, i read a very interesting thread recently about that very topic canon or nikon will be the weapon of choice, my pics are only reasonable due to the enviroment
  3. the nearest airport to me is 60 miles away, i suppose its an option though, the guy who works opposite me lives in spain and it will cost less and he will be home before me he books well in advance and it something like £12 for the flight !
  4. dood class
  5. http://www.equibs.com/ ozz, probably best to pm chris, to see what sort of price he has in mind
  6. Yup. Look pretty similar to these... http://www.performancealloys.com/detail ... =132222510 Close, but id say they were BBS RX's http://www.performancealloys.com/details.asp?procedure=wheel&id_wheels='BBS%20RX'&id_wheels_manufacturers='BBS'&id_wheels_sizes='18x8.5'&price='248'&permission=132222722 Same as on mine. Think they look great def look like RX's
  7. i was thinking that but they look a bit more like a bbs copy, do piaa do something similar ? though - busy enough to contrast with the white but not too fussy imo
  8. i didnt get a sticker at the 350 post mark what do you get for 11,000 posts ? a 350z-uk.com server i think you should reach a maximum figure of say 11,100 and then get banned
  9. none - i'm useless - i cant stick to anything - so why bother - i am a failure - if you want to make changes you dont need the new year to make them i might try believing in myself a bit more this year
  10. if you dont use the old speaker ring as a spacer and use mdf spacers then you can fit what ever size you like i suppose i know what your saying about the focal tweeters they can be a bit bright
  11. too much choice ! i just wanted to say i'll take the red one my conundrum is that it will purely be a work horse so i dont want to spend needlessly but it must be ultra reliable, i dont want to be miles away from home and broken down the journey is approx 3 hrs each way, i went to the interview in mrs gixxers clio 1.2 turbo and it returned 40 mpg but i think it would murder it long term, so it must be diesel imo cheers for the info rob (and others who have replied ) paul ps. another thing that confuses me is people love the diesel passat but surely this has the same engine as a golf , bora, a3, a4, seat, skoda etc note to self - dont lower it and change the rims and exhaust, leather retrim, revo etc
  12. i am partial to vag i've had mk1 mk2 mk3 mk5 golfs and a corrado vr6 before lots of places to get parts, oem vag parts are prices a few people have said peugeot make the best diesel engines ? is this bull ?
  13. Id guess at Swansea Would that be like Alabama then for the Welsh ? Fun driving around Gower in the rain to come. no, that would be llanabama
  14. everyone has got that flu ! except me - mrs gixxer reckons i've got a cold (aka man flu)
  15. i def fitted 6.5" in my rears and on that link above mate it says 6.5" in the front check it out more options on the 6.5" range, i've got somr focal comps to go in the front but i'm waiting for better weather as i cant open the door on the car in my narrow garage
  16. cheers rob, i'll probably commute and stay over a couple of nights each week, the co are paying for my accomodation for 6 months then it will be a caravan what the most important thing with a diesel - mileage or service history ? i have no experience of diesels being a petrolhead all my life
  17. Do you mean the the cf front finisher ? that is a nissan part (extra) although i would imagine there are aftermarket copies, try equibs or courtesy or even pm bigphil he maybe able to get one, mine was on when i got the car but i'm pretty sure they just stick on with 3m tape that is on the back of the finisher , look a lot better with it imo
  18. " THIS YEAR WE ARE GOIN TO BE MILLIONAIRES RODNEY " thanks for the advice its not been a great year - hopefully this one will be the co i worked for had been trading for 20 years (30 mill turn over) then it was sold but the guy who bought it overstretched his finances and then it went down hill, we found out 2 days before they closed the place i've never been unemployed before ! its not nice any how back to the car - i will use the zed for a couple of weeks to make sure everything is as it should be and then get a diesel the priorities are economy - reliability then comfort as its a fair old hike anyone live anywhere near bicester ? (silverstone country ) is it a nice place ? jay your a tinker should a van be an option ? are they more expensive to insure ?
  19. looks like i'm hunting for a passat then cheers for the replies - 1.9 tdi best ?
  20. probably looking to spend up to 4k for now, it will only be used for work, so doesnt have to be big yeah passats have a good rep but it must be the same engine as the bora, golf, a3, a4, seat, skodas i would think ? i used the co passat for a week and from 70 - 100 it pulled like a train
  21. the day the world turned dayglow mad colour
  22. standard reply ...
  23. i was made redundant recently, co i worked for for a long time became insolvent i now have another job BUT its in Bicester which is 376 mile round trip for me, so i cant use the zed but its not going i need to buy a diesel to do the weekly trip, i want to spend as little as possible as it will be used as a beater (although i'm thinking revo it already ) it will be a few years old but what do people recommend for economy and reliability ? tdi golf, gt tdi golf, seat, audi, peugeot etc ? i did start thinking vx220 or an elise good power to weight ratio cheers Paul
  24. very nice nice rims aswell, white is very on the zed imo
