I like it, although I agree it's best from behind (as with some many things in life) anyone know what it's selling for in the US and Japan?
-
Nice one

I think actually you've hit the nail on the head....the price they're charigning for the product they're selling is over inflated to match the kudos of the badge....and inflated to the point where you're paying at least £10k for the badge alone. But clearly marketing dept need to have a say and to control the engineering teams but it's just so contrived.

Trev - I'm getting my Caymans and my Cayennes mixed up. The Cayman = v. nice... Cayenne = hideous freak
Ferrari are supposed to be making a 4x4 next, you know...
Its a bit like Marmite making toothpaste...
No they both suck. Porsche is a sports car company (allegedly) and yet they've built a 4x4 and a "sports" car that is slower than a Honda Civic Type R
So what does that make Nissan who build a bit of everthing?
Fair question....no good answer
I guess I get upset, for no good reason, that Porsche markets itself so heavily on being a premium sports brand that is essentially an aspiration marque. They have created, love them or loathe them, some of the finest engineering products money can buy. And then they produce these two models, so obviously dictated by the marketing dept over what the engineering could have achieved and somehow illusions that I held on what they stood for are broken. It's irrational, because clearly they're a business that wants to grow and they'll do that any way they can, and that's how BMW etc. have done so well over the last few decades. My point, if there is one, is simply that these two cars are flawed examples from a line that is otherwise simply superb, and for my money, they're an anathema to the vision of the every-day super car. Nissan, by contrast, has created some very good "bog standard" cars that you wouldn't look twice at and occasionally pulls a rabbit out of the hat by creating something like the Z cars that totally go against the grain. In fact that's probably as good an explanation as I can give, both have done something up expected it's just that Nissan's is entirely welcome whilst the Porsche "innovations" really aren't.....does that make sense? As flackmonkey says, marmite flavoured toothpaste.

lol I'm a real paranoid bollox.
Compairing the photos of the fender to bumper you can see the obvious gap but it could be put down to Nissan fitting. Doubt it.
Drivers fender

Passenger fender

Another thing I think I can see is the suspension gap above the rear wheel on the passenger side.

After my last car got hit a number of times over the years you could see gaps like this on both sides.
Back on topic - Sorry the deal fell through mates. There's a lot more Z's out there.
Guy
Think I'm with you on the fender, but I've seen worse on new 350s (praying mine is OK when I get it), and it could be the bumper needs close inspection. Wheels wise though, the ground it's on isn't flat which I think explains the difference
-
That is probably the best advert I've seen for a car. So many pics.
Buuuttttttt it could be just me but I don't like the look of the join of the passenger fender to the bumper in this pic.

It's probably just me being paranoid.
Guy
On the right hand side you mean? Maybe, worth going for a look I reckon. He mentions that the bumper needs some touching up, so it maybe he's given it a tickle at some point in the past

Jimbo - might not want one from Nissan direct but there area few on thier web site at around 17k with mid mileage (around 30 - 35k)
I also saw this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-GT-PA ... dZViewItem
And there's a GT4 on there too @ £24k.....

Jacko you cheeky biatch
They are powdercoated Billy, ask Ming on here for details
Thanks for putting me straight....

The ONLY fiar way to tax people is through fuel costs. THe more miles and the more fuel hungry the vehicle, the more you pay. Except that isn't very Labour as they don't want it to be obvious who can and who can't afford to run certain vehilces so they tax the cars they don't like (i.e. 4x4, which is just plain stupid). Meanwhile 80% of all tax revenue comes from the top 10% of all earners, a point you'll not find front page on the next budget. **** me these guys are a bunch of c**ts

Does that mean that you are confirmed now (with regards to getting the car) and therefore defo coming?
Will put you on as Bold.......
Car is in London at an undisclosed location...insurers have confirmed the order...awaiting funds transfer and cover note and the car is mine! However given that it's taken 12 weeks to get to this point I can't say 100% but let's call it a solid 70%

I know the info is in here somewhere but there are 48 pages on this thread so....where are people staying on the Saturday night? I'm London based, so having previously thought I'd drive up and back in a day realistically that's not going to happen and I now plan to drive up Saturday evening aiming to arrive around 9 (all of which assumes I have a car by then!)
-
Just saw the pictures, that looks totally awesome, I love the bonnet. Did you re-paint the wheels yourself or are they just another Nissan option that I missed somewhere?
-
Good for you!
-
Provided that the car arrives before Saturday, yes
-
What a first few hours. Really sucks ass.
Bet you're thinking about the noise the most.
Guy
All I can think about is the bow wave breaking over the windscreen! But yes they do sound fu*king awesome
Got the order confimred today so I'll have my new wheels next week at some point!

Saw someone heading into London on the M4 about midday, I think it was J2 or 3, appeared to have a head of steam up! Flying yellow peril indeed.
