  1. Hi, Mine packed up at the weekend so need to get this sorted asap. If anybody is selling or knows of one going spare, please let me know
  2. Thanks alot this is much appreciated, can i just top up or do a complete change?
  3. They managed to do it without removing the engine apparently. They booked 12 hours so still must of been quite a large job. Not checked transmission fluid yet
  4. hi, so my bro works in crewe at the nissan garage, i managed to get my cam chain tensioner done there for £25 an hour, (live in high wycombe, so well worth the trip), since getting it back i have noticed 2 problems, 1, when the car is warm and idle its got a very slight wobbley/juddery feeling like its close to stalling, the revs stay constant at about 800rpm, it hasnt stalled just wasnt doing it before. 2, mine is a semi auto, so automatically switches down the gears, 5th to 3rd and 3rd to 1st. these work fine, but if im in slow moving traffic and get into 2nd, when i eventually come to a stop it doesnt go very smoothly into 1st, it kind of klonks or feels like i have put my foot hard on the brake for a split second. i know most things had to come out to do the tensioner, so was hoping and praying everything was going to be fine after, my bro has asked the chap who did the job about the fault, and he said he took it for a road test after and everything was fine. i dont really want to get angry with them as my brother has to work there and its also a long drive away. any ideas????

  6. Hi, i live in wycombe and have an almost identical zed, (i dont have nismo wheels), hopefully see you about, probably looking to sell mine soon as ive had it nearly 6 years now and fancy a change.
  7. cool, cheers guys. ZED specialist in Bucks????? High wycombe??????
  8. And no it was a vw technician who does services on all motors at the weekend as they let him use the ramp for pj's
  9. Dont think anything to do with the gearbox has been changed. By all 3 modes do you mean snow, normal and sport? Never really taken it off normal as I drive it kind of in manual, so still changing gears myself.no traction light comes on except for when I believe it should do.
  10. hi, i have a semi auto jdm 2003 zed, when im driving i can feel like power is not all there, and sometimes it even feels like i have a turbo or v-tech kick in half way through the rev range where i get almost double the power in the same gear. any ideas? its been serviced and been checked for error codes but still feels the same. thanks
  11. What a bitch, so there is no quick sequence like the uk and US ones?
  12. Hi all, recently i cracked the part of my remote that you can put a ring of keys onto so went on ebay and bought a blank key as i only wanted the casing, everything was going great until i went to unlock the car and ............... nothing, i checked the battery was the right way round which it was and everything lined up on the little circuit board, car starts fine but just have to unlock my car with the key every time. i did find a method you are supposed to follow to reprogramme you're fob, to do with sliding the key in and out of the barrel 6 times etc with the doors locked, when it gets to 5 times the doors unlock themselves which it doesn't say anything about in the guide, also there is another one i read about turning the key from the off to the on position 6 times etc but that does nothing, is there a different procedure you are supposed to follow with JDM's i didnt want to take it to the dealers when all i wanted to do was change the poxy case. thanks
  13. hi, dont suppose you have the painted trim that sits between the roof and the top of the passenger door, small part i know, but dont want to pay loads for the part and to get it painted. cheers

    undertray.

looking to get a new undertray as my cable ties holding whats left of my current one keep snapping and it sounds like my bumper is on the floor, if i cant get a 2nd hand one will look to get one of those aluminium ones off tarmac.
  16. i have a polyurethane nismo replica bumper (so quite flexible) but has got the bottom lip kind of built into the bumper, will this still line up ok, desperately need one as mine is smashed to shreds and any bits that are ok are cable tied on. also how do i send payment. cheers
  17. i have one in my garage from my 2003 zed gathering dust, i bought an 06 onwards one which is why i have it. it has a flaking nismo sticker on it and i stole the rubber bits that are underneath to go on the new bonnet apart from thats its ok i believe. i live in high wycombe
  18. so mark is £1000 with parts and labour about right, was probably only gonna keep the car for another yearish and wanted to keep costs to a minimum so would you bother to change the chain and guide etc or is that just standard practice?
  19. Hi, just wanted to know if there are any nissan specialists in the bucks area, i live in high wycombe and think i need the cam chain tensioner replaced which my local garage said would be about £1000 but didnt really want to take it on as you need someone who was prepared to take out pretty much every part and spend alot of time on that one job which isnt the sort of work they like doing. didnt want to take it to the dealer as they they charge to much but wanted someone who knows there nissans so that everything gets put back correctly with no rattles or future issues, if there are any other garages that you would recommend that would be great also. has anybody had their cam chain replaced or the tensioner just so i know that the price they have told me is around that sort of region, just seems a pain considering all it does is rattle for 2 seconds on a cold startup and the car is probably only worth £5000 tops but cant sell it witht that issue, i wouldnt buy it. thanks Dazzer
  20. And the tensioner is the only possibilty he spoke about. What other things could it possibly be?
  21. Cheers mate. Is it a big job like he said. If anybody knows of any garages in the high wycombe area that are half decent could you please let me know. Thanks
  22. Hi, is there any way of diagnosing a faulty cam chain tensioner? a chap i know who is a mechanic thinks the loud rattle that comes fro my car for the 1st 2 seconds when its cold is this, but looked into it at work and said the labour to replace it is roughly £1000, i trust him totally in terms of labour costs for that job as he is a family friend but i dont think he is the best mechanic in the world, just wanted to know if there is a simple test that can get carried out to determine if thats the fault before parting with that much money. Cheers
  23. Fault code comes up with camshaft position sensor. Hopefully the sensor is just faulty but because I have a slight problem that my mechanic thinks is a cam chain tensioner (makes a tappety noise for a few seconds when starting from cold) he hopes the chain hasnt stretched and is causing the sensor fault. Going back down the garage with it tomorrow. Im hoping its not the cam chain as ive heard you dont get any change from a £1000.
