  1. So that's okay then because we all feel our colour is the best :) All I've got to do now is get to love twilight grey (twiglet grey) and I'll be fine. No worries on resale value then.

I have a 2007 brochure that features Temper Orange throughout and on the cover. When I downloaded the current brochure from the Nissan site yesterday, the Temper Orange had been replaced with White. The graphics guys had modified the original shots rather than do a re shoot. I thought that's a bit tight.

    Cheers, Damien.

  2. Okay here's a controversial one.

I have just bought an immaculate 350Z roadster GT pack UK car with 1 previous owner (Nissan staff director). The car has Sat nav, black leather seats and a black hood. It is Twiglet Grey!

The grey car that I have bought is a full £3,000 cheaper than the equivalent Night Blue car offered by another Nissan main dealer and £1500 cheaper than yet another dealer offering a Night Blue without Sat nav. Can the colour really affect the value like this or is it just a case of inconsistent pricing and luck.

My first choice of colour would be Night blue and I'd be prepared to spend an extra £500 for it. My second and third choices would have been black or white and I'd pay an extra £200 for either of them. I couldn't resist a discount of £3k to settle for a grey model. It will give me a few funds for lowering springs, summer tyres (Pilot Sports or Falkens) for my new set of GT4 wheels bought on this forum a few months ago.

So the question is how much extra would you pay for the colour of your choice?

  3. Red is not an option for me. Night blue is first choice, white is second choice and a silver Merc SL500 is my third choice if I can't get the right Z by next weekend as I need a car. It's a catch 22. With a JDM you have to sell privately so there is no option to look around and part exchange. That has made me car less or should that be careless.

I expect today is like Christmas day and that it is a non trading day. So I'll ring round tomorrow.

  4. The £20k Night blue at JS Holmes has gone :(

Beadles Nissan in Maidstone are not answering their phone. Obviously no credit crunch there and neither is Evans Halshaw. Cash is waiting but I can't fine someone to sell me a car. I guess I'll have to become less impatient.

Thanks for the info on the sat nav.

    Cheers, Damien

  5. I've ruled out the Aston, I'm not old enough for one of those yet. A Zed is way cooler and it is far less likely to break down. My dilemma is the 20K blue roadster from JSHolmes:

It has more miles on the clock and no sat nav and is the same price as this one from Baileys Nissan:

I want to get the blue one but I think it is way over priced. How much more was the sat nav when the car was new? I'm not a great barterer but do you think £18.5k in cash is the right sort of target? Any help is appreciated. I'm not out to rip anyone off I just want to get the car for the right price. I need to use my head and not my heart.

  6. Z sold! It took 1 hour on Pistonheads to get a catch and within 24 hours my car has gone and I have a pile of cash. I have to wait for the dealers to open in the morning now. V excited! I have 2 Zeds on my radar at the moment.

    And then I started thinking...

I can get an Aston DB7 or a Mercedes SL500

But I've come back down to earth for now.

  7. I called J.S.Holmes this morning and it is due to go back to Nissan on Tuesday. They have had it on their forecourt for a month and not sold it at that price so Nissan want it back. It was probably a press car and is still owned by Nissan. I expect it will end up at another dealer next weekend. They wouldn't take my JDM on part Ex (Nissan franchise dealer policy) so I will have to sell privately. I can't list my car here as I've not got 50 posts on this forum yet as I was on the 'other' forum. I've now migrated here because it is better and free. So I'll put it on Pistonheads this afternoon.

    Cheers, Damien.

  8. Welcome!

I'm running an Alpine head unit in my 02 JDM Azure 350Z with full remote control of my iPod in the cubby behind the handbrake. I've used a module box to connect the original steering wheel controls to the Alpine head unit and another module box to interface the Alpine to the Bose amps. I still use the Bose sub and amps. I have fitted new speakers units in the doors and rear using the original mounts. The improvement in sound over the original Bose system has been amazing. I wrote up the whole process with pictures and spec on the 'other' forum but I migrated to this forum as it is free and better. My car will be for sale for 8.5k later this weekend. If you want a UK spec car you will need from 10k upwards.

    Cheers, Damien.

  9. Hi Guys,

I've loved my Azure JDM so much I want another Z. I will have to sell my beloved Z and I'll probably just get £8k for her with 65k miles on the clock :( I have been saving a bit and I fancy a rag top. ex demo 07, 57 or 08 or new import considered. My second favorite colour is white but I'm liking the new blue with the light grey or tan leather seats. My budget is 18 - 24k. I would have considered the 270z (with a bit of a wait and finance needed) but I prefer the look of the 350z.

    Cheers, Damien.

  10. 91W rating is perfect for a Z that is limited to 155mph as a 91W rating is good for 168 mph. I don't think I'm going to run out of tyre rating on the M5 somehow. But I now have my eyes on the Falkens as they are supposedly a lot quieter, have great grip and available fitted for under £400 a set of 4.

  11. Advice from the experts needed please.

Okay here's the low down. I've had a 2002 JDM with 17" rims for nearly 2 years and I've had nearly 30,000 miles from a set of Pirelli P zero asymmetric tyres that have performed well with no surprises.

I have just bought a set of GT4 style (original Nissan) refurbished rims from Alex on this forum. What tyre sizes should I go for? I think I might get some Mitchelin Pilot Sports from Costco but I'm open to suggestions. I've read about 040 instead of 045 but no one categorically states which ones are better.

I'm coming from 225 - 50 ZR 17 front and 235 - 50 ZR 17 rear. Rolling radius calculations are not my strong point. I'm assuming no spacers will be needed and it'll be a case of balance fit and go.

Help and offers of supply are welcome.

    Thanks, Damien.
