  1. Tilly - with the 2nd best colour ( :p ) you've got to be careful about washing it. It's such a great colour in the sunshine that you don't want to ruin it with poor washing techniques.

Check out www.detailingworld.co.uk and find out how to make your motor sparkle. In summary, use at least 2 buckets (one with a grit guard in it), a good wash mitt, a quality shampoo and rinse your mitt after washing each panel. Dry with a good quality waffle weave towel (poorboy's do a good large one) and finish off with some Meguires Last Touch or Quik Detailer with a microfibre cloth.

Sounds like a ballache but it's soooo worth it so as not to cause swirls and marks!

    :welcome: too :teeth:

  2. Has anyone given thought to the route for the day? Oh, and the fact that it'll get dark early  ??

Since I'm Mr Magoo in the dark (is it just my headlights that are poor?) I'd rather not be tear-arsing around the Wales countryside after lunchtime.....

Could the plan be.... meet up around 10 (as before) do a bit of a run (maybe different from last time - perhaps that Evo Triangle?) and then finish with lunch?

Well, that's my thoughts anyway. Mrs 73 & I will be coming up Saturday so hopefully meet up for some beers & curry again

  3. They do many more styles too - all with 3m adhesive backing. It would be interesting to see one in real-life to check the quality but who's gonna be the guinea pig?

I emailed them to see if they'd give a sample for review purposes..... I've yet to hear back

  4. "Please don't ask me why but James said he won't deal with toyo's because of the amount of problems he has had with them"

I got a similar story from a tyre place recently about Toyos so I'm considering sticking with Potenzas! But I want 265x40x18 for my rear. Will you please get a price for me?

    Thanks

  5. Quelle Suprise, a Dealer was wrong!

But hey, if the Import version have the ability to make the mirrors dance, why is it beyond the wit of any auto-electrician to manage it on UK 350s? I want that gadget.

  6. :scare: Bl00dy Hell Paul - you're a quick learner.... It was only on Saturday that you were bemused by microfibre and quick detailing spray :p:lol:

I've had my door resprayed where it was keyed. I've noticed that it now lacks the depth of the surrounding paintwork. Is this likely to be just a shoddy job or will some judicious detailing get it to look the same? Any thoughts?

Try some G3 and a mop, if the paint has orange peel you'll need to knock it back with 1200 W&D paper ( & soapy water ) paint shop should have done this anyway.

    Sounds shoddy to me

  7. Who knows. Who cares?

However, from looking at the winners & highly commended pictures one may deduce that the voters were on the conservative side because very few "fast n furious" types won. Models that were ostensibly 'stock' were commended.

I must admit that I haven't added a chain to the trophy and it isn't hanging round my neck although it was nice that other attendees recognised my car as a nice example. I've not made the call to my local cabinet makers as I have a sneaky suspicion it's the only award my 350 will get. Still, it's appreciated.

    :#1::p

  8. Nice try Rookie - but.... you have NOWHERE near enough cloths there Paul to even gain entry to the pre-entry area of our club :p

Alot more investment is needed  We're not some cheapo back street club you can wander in off the street with your shirt neck open and GOLD Z badge hanging in your chest hair :teeth:

For consideration members need: 2 (preferably 3) buckets, a good quality shampoo, Grit Guard, Poorboy's Waffle Weave drying towels, 350 microfibre cloths, Last Touch (or similar) detailing spray...

  9. Sorry I missed Tim & Chris Sunday. I popped over again (late - around 3pm) and folk were packing up. Only saw 1 more 350 there but a couple of Fast & Furious 300ZX's.

It's a pity the event wasn't better attended and I hope the organisers were nevertheless pleased with the weekend. A nice bunch of folk though.

  10. Paul - www.detailingworld.co.uk - a few hours on there, a few ££££s spent on gear and you'll be as anal as me  Although the Custard doesn't show swirls and marks like kuro does  you might not get so bad.

Craig @ muddydetail.co.uk is your man too. However, your car is 1 WEEK old, it doesn't need him yet.

Despite the ZedFest being having a little disappointing turn out I enjoyed the day and had a great time. Nice burgers too :yuck:
