  1. Dealer just called.

The car has been delivered B)

Now they just have to install all the bits n bobs (parking sensors, alarm, other tyres ..) and i have to get the payment done so i can pick it up.

    :teeth:

    What alarm you fitting mate???

The one Nissan has in the acc. catalogue.

Its just to have one for my insurance. I think that if scumbags want your car they ll get it, alarm or no alarm

  2. How much weight was added then? B)

Just a bit, not enough to notice it I think. I was just trying to defend the 03-05 model :p:teeth:

Ill just go to the toilet just before driving the car, that will solve the weight difference :teeth:

  3. ^^^^^^

Less a sports car maybe due to the added weight to the 2006 model, less stiff clutch, speed sensitive power steering, more cupholders/storage space than a family car....

How much weight was added then? B)

  4. What i am guessing is that he got them from another car where they put aftermarket wheels on (maybe the 2005 they fitted with the full nismo kit?) and that he can sell them "off the record" if you know what i mean ...

  5. I think what this means is more luxury less of a sports car

ehm, i can hardly understand why changing the position of certain buttons and changing the color of some things make it less of a sports car :headhurt:

  6. I have also been told that you can do laps in an M5 driven by a test driver for E180 for 3 people, sounds like a good way to see the track

Yop, and as a passenger in a Viper too. That costs more dough ;)

But you have to reserve about 1 year up front :scare:

  7. tbh mate I would definitely suggest getting some wheels, especially where you are. I know it wouldn't take too long to get to Calais from Charleroi (about 2hours) but I doubt you would get 4 wheels into the car if you decided to take the Z. Perhaps meeting halfway may prove beneficial to both of you?

I would definatly take another car to do the pickup ;)

One slight query tho... 301hp?? How are you getting that? I thought the 06 was 296\7 bhp?

hp does not exactly equal bhp ;)

Oh and I would definitely suggest good winter tyres rather than performance tyres over winter, having experienced the weather over there you would I am sure not want to pay for body repairs.

    My point exactly ;)

As i told him, if we cant arrange something quickly and it would for some reason take lets say 1 month before we can get the tyres to me i m willing to pay half up front, to show i m serious about this, so no worries. We ll figure sth out B)

  8. Dealer just called me.

He can get me a set of Rays wheels + Michelin Pilot Sport tyres for approx £1000. This ofcourse replaces the standard wheels + tyres (so no worries in Chesterfield, i ll still be needing those rims B) )

    Sounds like a good deal?

  9. sorry for the late reply, work is in the way at the moment.

anyway.. I'm down to the last few, which include

    350z

    Sti Impreza

    EVO

    Tuscan 6 speed

    exige

If it is not your daily driver and you can afford it (+ potential repair bills :teeth: ) go for the Tuscan B)

  10. Umm....where do you live that you're expecting all this snow

Dunno where you live, but overhere i ve regularly seen your average BMW or Merc driver suffer in snowy/ici conditions here, hardly being able to get going where they want coz of RWD + summer tyres. And since i want performance tyres on my car they are for sure not ment to perform well when it is freezing.

  11. Its in Beligium.

Got to look into postage costs for the wheels from the UK, anyone got any ideas?

cheaper for him to fetch um Chris :headhurt:

Depends, from me to Chesterfield and back is not really a journey I plan on doing in 1 day (checked with routeplanner) + the price of the transfer from continent to England and back, so it depends on how much it is.

  12. Hi,

as i will soon own a 301hp RWD monster called "The Z" B) I will be needing winter wheels/tyres to plow through the snow here when it hits our streets. Now the question is, what is the cheapest solution to get these? I think the biggest "problem" is the wheels, the tyres themselves will not be the issue price-wise. Any suggestions? Nobody selling his old 17" 350z rims or others (dont have to be immaculate, as long as they are straight ;) )?

  13. I had the same doubts. 2005 or 2006 model.

Finally I went for the 2006, for several reasons, the first one being that the 2006 looks nicer (the interior does look better, i had the chance to compare them next to eachother, the exterior too with the LED taillights). They also made adjustments to the powersteering and the sat-nav. Ofcourse being able to rev the engine another 500rpm higher will be nice too B)

When cashing out that kind of money for a car I wanted to have the latest model, and not already start with something "dated" which will be harder to sell than the current model come resale time in 4-5 years.

Here is what they told me on 350zuk.com

These are the changes to the interior -

    1. Shiny Air-Con Knobs

    2. Soft-touch plastic/better quality plastic all around you.

    3. More shiny aluminiumey bits.

    4. Better position for the hazard warning light switch.

    5. better position for the heated seat switches.

    6. Nicer, bigger, illuminated buttons on the steering wheel

    7. Illuminated cup holders (in doors)

    8. Coin tray in dashboard

    9. More/ better storage near the handbrake area

    10. Bluetooth integrated phone module as standard

    11. Speed-sensitive power steering

    12. Lighter clutch pedal (I prefer this)

    13. material covering in door pockets.

    14. Improved button on dashboard cubby door.

    15. Nicer rear strut bar cover.

    16. slightly nicer "tonneau cover"

yeah, the bottle holders in the doors,

Ali bezels round the guages, which I just noticed reflect the red from the needles and look really schweeeet,

    card holder in dash,

Dash cubby door that actually fits,

Double bottle/cup holder in the centre console,

    Bigger knee pads,

    bigger passenger net,

    Bi zenon headlamps,

    LED tail lamps,

Annoying ding when you go over 15mph without the seatbelt on,

Redesigned front bumper, wider at the bottom, looks lower to me too, less slats on the grille, which are now gunmetal not cheapo looking black plastic,

more as I fink of em

...now to continue the list of improvements -

Of course there's the 296bhp engine (up by 20bhp)

    There's a new redline of 7,000rpm (up by 400rpm)

Variable Valve Timing on the exhausts as well as the inlets

18" Rays Alloys as standard wheels

2 colour improvements - Pearlescent Black (Ebisu) and something else that I can't remember

Must mention the LED tail lights again, because they are

you see, there are no big obvious 'in yer face' tacky changes (eg body graphics) from a people who have run out of ideas, but instead you get a myriad of subtle genuine IMPROVEMENTS from a team who are still on the case.

    B)

  14. Aahh the ring

    B)

I agree with all the guys here, but I would recommend you something else too. If you know someone who is a ring "regular", get him to help you know the track, either by being a passenger in your car, or by driving his car at much lower speed than he normally would do in front of you, to show you the lines. The Ring is a very complicated track, 90% of the time you cant see where you are supposed to go, blind corners and hills galore. Trying to learn it on your own will take very long! I did 4 laps on it in my car and I had a friend of mine next to me who had already ridden 150+ laps on his motorcycle on that track to guide me around.

I have a friend who is a Ring regular with his Porsche and could maybe help, just tell me the date you want to go and i ll check if he can come over too (and me too while we are at it B) )
