Huh! Score my name off the list too! I agree that Lamborghini are just making sure. Manufacturers always err on the side of caution especially if there is a link to something bad happening. I remember when I worked in my local Nissan dealership we had a Micra K11 brought in because the airbag had deflated without reason whilst the car was parked in the customers drive. Rather than replace the parts and bung the customer a free service, Nissan sent 3 guys over from Japan to strip the car and find out why. We later found out one of the guys was the actual bloke who had designed the airbag system on the car!

I heard a thing on the radio the other day that theives were targeting Ford Kas in Bristol because someone had started a rumour that the chip from the Kas radio allowed you to unlock your Sky TV to receive all channels free! Thing is, if you are stoopid enough to believe this, what makes you think you are capable of installing the chip in your sky box? Madness!

The only thing you are likely to break is sweat! A few customers have fitted them by unbolting the trim under the front and reaching up, but if I were fitting them I'd slide the bumper off. The bumper will come off with a basic toolkit and a bit of thought. If you find you have to get a big lever or hammer in anywhere you are doing it wrong! All you have to do is remove a few small bolts and clips then slide the bumper forward. you don't even need to lift the car off the ground.(Although it is a bit comfier if you do!)

I like the guide because it makes the buyers guide I wrote on ebay appear accurate, consice and well written!

Oh no! I know the guy who wrote this guide! He is alright but trys too hard to sell his bloody car stuff all the time! Glad I have only had one complaint (He typed, opening the flood gates to the impending torrent of complaints!) I wrote another guide about Mitsubishi L200s and people accused me of being negative about them and it was more a 'Why you shouldn't buy...' guide but I think it gives people a better idea of what to ask and if people know about possible problems they are not so disappointed when it happens to them. When you buy a car off ebay you need all the help you can get! If any of you guys have anything to add or want me to change anything feel free to post it here or PM me.

Will do my usual, start the auctions at 99p and cross my fingers! Thought they were worth more than £11 like last time though! If they sell for 99p I just have to take the hit. The way ebay works is if you have to take the hit on one thing you usually do well on another. It frightens the life out of people used to doing business the traditional way! We can only get a few sets at a time because our supplier doesn't want to fall out with their big customers over here (who all take a dim view of us punks on ebay with low overheads undercutting their out of date car accessory shops! ) as a result we get these at a good price. Its still difficult having to explain this to Mrs Kerbside when she gets a craving for shoe shopping! We will list them on a 10 day auction starting about 9pm on Thursday the 23rd.

Can confirm these are proper smoked black and not orangy black (Technical term) like the ones most people have. I get stuff like this in because it's the sort of thing I'd buy. They are subtle but you notice them when there is another Zed next to yours! I will have more in by the end of the month! Had silvery ones in before but can't get any more for another month or so. They looked the dogs danglies on dark coloured cars!

A tip from the trade here! If you want to remove condensation from your headlamps get an old floormat (Pref black rubber) open the bonnet and place the mat over the headlamp and close the bonnet to retain the mat. Start the car up and stick main beam on. Probably not great for bulbs if you have to do this all the time but a good trick to clear condensation quickly to check headlamp alignment for example.

Last time I saw anything as 'attention grabbing' as those it had a steam engine, big paddle wheel at the back and a Jazz quartet performing on it!

They are not! I said they were OEM quality, not OEM. Do they look crap? Not the sort of thing I'd usually sell but I can get them.

Pochaipill has bid on a few of my items which makes him a good guy in my eyes!

If you imagine the metal sheet inside the tyre. It is made up of strands of steel so if the nail burst a few threads the sheet could have seperated it. Tyre manufacturers and the boys in blue will tell you it is dangerous even after the puncture has been repaired but I know that if it was me I wouldn't bother changing it unless it was blatantly obvious. If it just looks like a slight ripple don't worry unless you intend Colin Macraeing it on every roundabout.

OEM no! OEM quality of course! They are US ones, couldn't find anyone who would sell UK spec ones for less than lottery win cash. So like I said, £94 for a set of US ones delivered within 2 weeks (with free stanley blade for all 350Z-uk registered folks! )

I was always told to check the oil when cold because the volume of oil will increase as it heats. I agree it is also easier to rread when cold. I do not understand why a manufacturer would recommend checking the oil at normal operating temperature because what is normal operating temperature! The oil will still be cooler on a car in Norway when the cooling fan cuts in than one in Spain! Normal operating temperature is a reflection of engine coolant not oil. The oil will be hotter if you have just driven 30 miles than if you have left the car idling on your driveway but both could be considered at 'normal operating temperature'! From a safety point of view, when you check your oil you usually check your washer fluid level and coolant. Why would a manufacturer encourage you to check your engine bay levels when there is the risk of being covered in hot coolant? Do they expect you to check the coolant when the car is cold then go back out when it is hot to check the oil?
