  1. Thanks. I've had a look and there are no threads that will lose much by way of content or continuity without my input. Would prefer you erase my account completely if that is OK. No, its not an overnight thing.
  2. Oh OK. signal to noise ratio - a measurement of the ratio of the wanted infomation to the background level of noise. Sarnie it isn't you specifically. I just don't have the time to sift the good threads from the others. Too much goes OT in general. As for the recent spat, now locked, no comment - you only have to read it. Peter
  3. Guys As it say in the title. If I'd paid money to join this forum I'd be asking for it back about now. To all the sensible and considerate on this forum please accept my apologies - I really do not mean any offence to you. I simply do not have the time or inclination so sort all the dross from the good content in a high traffic group with such a poor s/n ratio. Good luck with the forum though. It's just too juvenile for me. *EDITED: ...do not mean any offence...
  4. Ahh. Thought you were going to get new wheels too....oops!
  5. How are you going to get the old tyres and wheels back then?
  6. I think you were turning into Course & Beacham (Chrysler dealers). Hope it's not a trade-in for a Crossfire Own up - this is my first spotted
  7. I assume you mean Westway Nissan in Redbridge? I'm really pleased to hear this, the premises being about a mile from where I live. Bought my car in Bournemouth (Westover Nissan) - jury still out on them and won't really know until something goes really pear-shaped. So far though so good. There's also Sparshatts in Botley which might be a bit nearer.
  8. Not exactly in Pompey, but Micheldever Tyres are recommended if that's not too far for you.
  9. That about sums up my experience with ntl as well.
  10. Seems my son uses Meguiar's Gold Class and also some trade stuff based on carnauba wax. He knows no more detail on this.
  11. I'll ask him and find out. Don't think it's specially imported. The car is a VX220 so has GRP body.
  12. I got talked into Supagard but wouldn't do it again. Its a fantastically high margin item for dealers. I was expecting to be able to get water to sheet off the surface and so make drying much easier. It didn't do this. Meanwhile my son just uses a variety of really high quality waxes on his car and has far superior results so IMO that's the way to do it as others have said in this thread. Doesn't a clay bar have an abrasive effect? Is it less than a polish?
  13. ntl: don't know if they've got any better recently. Good points: Reasonably fast Usually working Bad points: Seriously crap customer service (I've first hand experience of this) Slow to update speed in line with offers to new users Kiddy tea-time/early evening the service grinds along too slowly. Quite expensive (£25 pcm for nominal 4Mb/s) Probably says it all when I point out that I have not switched my phone or TV service to them.
  14. You are quite right of course, Jim. I do enjoy the exclusivity. However I was rather hoping to post a "spotted" here... How many 350 Zs in the UK I wonder?
  15. All of the above by the truckload. Did a run up the M3 yesterday - nothing again. Going to try A36 to Bristol today I think...
  16. Had the car three weeks and have driven about 1200 miles. In all that time I've not been seen by another forum member, not have I seen another 350Z, not one. Did see the most awful mess of a 300ZX with body kit gold speckled black paint in the Shaftesbury town car park this afternoon. Should have taken a pic but it was just too awful.
  17. I think I'd be inclined to mark the drive shafts sublty before putting it into the dealer for corrective work. I'm not at all cynical or suspicious What's important here is that the fault is logged and "in the system" before warranty expires. You then have better grounds for getting things sorted properly if the fix turns out to be a bodge. Slightly OT: how common is this problem and more importantly how long (in miles) have people had to drive before it becomes noticeable? Peter
  18. These look the dog's. They would look even better on my kuro... Peter
  19. Thought this looked pretty good except for the completely daft wing.
  20. My box clunks a bit as the load goes onto and off it. The noise that disappears when the clutch pedal is pressed is the sound of the gearbox internals rotating when the clutch is engaged. Mine does it and although I've had the car only a couple of weeks, I'd judge this to be quite normal, based on my experience of other cars. I'm certainly not concerned about mine but as suggested elsewhere, a trip to the service department and somebody listening to it wouldn't do any harm. Peter

  22. Wassa matter wiv 'em? I know I've missed something here...
  23. Ought to add that National Carphones were not just talking about BT units when they warned about encryption. They meant all cradles as my initial inquiry was about purchasing a non-BT Nokia cradle. If it turns out that you do have a third party base station then I'd guess you do have wider options. Trouble is I don't know how you tell the difference without making a potentially expensive mistake.
