  1. Hi Guys

Has anyone else seen an ORANGE zed????

I saw a Zed going the other way today in town. It was NOT the bronze colour but a mid to pale ORANGE. It also did not seem to be metallic but a base colour like the red and yellow ones are!!!!!!!

Not sure wether I liked it or not but it was certainly different. I don't think it was a re spray but who knows!

    Any ideas

  2. yeah still getting a bike, i'm waiting for my mate to sort his finances out so we can go in for it together. I may leave it until the summer now though as its getting cold and wet haha.

Tim - thats partly the reason i got it. Its quick, slightly hardcore but i can use it everyday. Has a big boot (although i hardly need it) but with it having rear seats i can ejoy it with a few friends now. thinking of going to Nurburg in it next year.

    Thanks for all your comments.

    Slightly Hardcore.????? :lol::lol::teeth::teeth::lol:

    Is that softcore?? Limpcore?? Flacidcore??

How can you be SLIGHTLY hardcore?????????????????????

Although not Mr Mings type of car I can see the attraction. (I like big engines over small powerful ones everytime but did have a honda 1600 VTECi for a while and it was a blast to drive.

I would think that that steps it up a league!

  3. Ming, have you been smoking anything strange recently?

Laugh. A stentorian rumble uttered forth from my stomachs pit!

The frightening thing, oh ye of the fairer sex, is that oft not I am free of all and any grape or hop based intellectual enhancements. I accept wholeheartedly that this menu of ramblings was started by a quaff of dionysiacally enhanced fermentation but oftennot they come from a truely honest state of sobriety.

PS After a decent seizure I am stoned just through contact as my system is not used to the effects of the THC - tetra hydra canabinol - in the plants and it takes me a while to come round - like last night.

    LOL

  4. Very good Ming.

So Ming, how are you today(mannie is a friendly term for gentleman, quine or quienee for a female)? What time are you getting out of bed tomorrow then?

I don't have to be early tomorrow and I had an early finish today. How pleasant!

As you can see, not bad at all!

yir nae three bad at iss. A puckle lessons an yil be a fair cheel! Nae bad at ah!

Ah fine we kiltie. Challenge aye tha deed.

But, buried under the permafrost of age, entrenched deep within the innermost sanctums of my genealogy is a smattering of a scottish clan and the nuances of long silent archaic prose must rumble on in the deeper recesses of my psyche.

(Me nan were arf jock an I fink I musta remembud summat like!)

    So

yir nae three bad at iss. A puckle lessons an yil be a fair cheel! Nae bad at ah!

Your not to bad at this! A few lessons and you will be a good student. Not bad at all!

  5. Wow, I'll just go get my Lexicon!

    Ace!

So Ming, fit Like the day mannie, fit time you yolking the morn en?

I've nae an early yolk an ah hid an ealy louse the day an ah! Fit fine! ;)

At a hazardous estimation it would/could mean

What kind of day did you have? What time are you getting up in the morning - yolking I guess is in reference to yolking a beast which would be the first job in a farmers day - I don't have to get up early and I had an ......... today as well. Be good!

Struggling with 'ealy louse'. but agin I hazzard a guess at 'easy day'

    Ming the struggling

  6. Tell me about it. I just finished one about five mins ago

I am at present partaking of one of mrs Mings finest culinary concoctions that is so hot and spicy my tongue is on fire so no wine for me tonight!!

Beer or coco cola rule I guess!!

  7. A multiplentitude of my humblest felicitations all ye of great linguistic fortutude.

    Doric, my good man.

A certian ubiquitous charm I am sure, and roots firmly embedded in the antedeluvian orders of our great and sceptered isle. Harkening back to eons gone when history was but in the creating and memories fair failed to reach beyond living memory.

Bring it forth for I welcome our verbal jousting and the broadening of all knowledge linguistic.

    Ming the Lexicon

  8. Do you know what?

I love my Zed. Almost as much as Mrs Ming - who has taken it to work today!!

Now that is the cleverest use of the word 'almost' I've ever seen - well done!

    Thanks Nixy

Its wonderous what a bottle of wine and a chilled out evening can do to ones creative juices.

    Ming the Considered

  9. Excellent !

keep your affluence of the semantic teachings and enlighten our empoverished discourse with your wordsmith and steadfast lexicography.

    :notworthy:

I will reply with great fortitude on the morrow good sir.

Partaking of great linguistic fortitude is a sobering experience and I care not to waste the elvating experience of good grape sustenance.

I have just partook in a gambling extraveganza which left me numerous 'Yanky greenbacks' to the good so I now bid you a fond fairwell and will partake of verbal and linguistic banter on the setting of the 'morrows sun.

    You linguistic jostler

  10. I live my life one wash at a time,

For those 10 minutes or less, I am clean. => MING?

    LOl

Are we talking personal hygene or car Hygene here?? LOL

After 10 minutes my car is NOT clean but NEARLY clean. It is only truely clean as the last swipe of the duster falls to the floor.!!

How about 350z = 'Pound for pound the best fighter on the road'.

    Do you know what?

I love my Zed. Almost as much as Mrs Ming - who has taken it to work today!!

  11. Forsooth

For I am often upon the queens business.

I oftensay 'stand aside miscreant, ner-do-well, and offender of this good parish for I take upon me the queens shilling and am a bidder of her business'.

Believe it or believe it not I have put a sentence similar to that in both a custody record AND a police statement.

    I love words.

Look in the dictionary and see

    Take the word PUDDLE

It also means 'to stir molten iron to produce wrought iron by expelling carbon' or 'to busy oneself in an untidy way' or even 'to mix water and clay to seperate gold and opal'.

What a fabulous language we have, rivalled only i think by Japanese for its complexity.

And I have just typed all this AFTER a full bottle of Rondinella Pinot Grigio - a sharp little rose blush with a distinct tincture of maranello - and one of Mrs Ming's finest home cooked archaic recipees.

    Ming the Satisfied

PS I am also playing on line poker and am sitting 5th out of 13 having started with 271

  12. Hats off to you sir!

You never had the sheer thrill of hitting a ton in a 1.2 or the utter excitement of getting a sub 10sec - 60 car and all the admiring glances and jealous stares from the youngsters and your peers. You can only get these experiences by 'serving your time' in the little cars!

    Agreed

    Cars are like bikes.

You appreciate them more if you move up in little steps. Each one a different experience, and hopefully a little faster, than the last one. (Sounds a little like my women really??)

serve your apprenticship with bangers and learn your vehicle. If you start with a Ferrarri or a Turbo car where do you go from there??

    Ming the Thinker

  13. Cheers ming, I feel enlightened now! I'll try to use that in a sentence soon! You should give us a word of the week on here, it might be fun!

We have a 'game' at work where you arew given a word to get into a formal police interview. I once had three offenders - all involved in dealing drugs - and I was given three words. Taj Mahal, St Pauls Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower. I got all three in!! :scare:

Effervescent was another challenge that I got into an interview for theft of a car.

I like your 'word of the day' idea though. I shall have to give it some thought!

I have put many a 'hard man' in jail with the power of the word where the 'strong arm' of the law had failed.

    How about

    Donnybrook!!

    Fit that in a sentence

    Ming the Muddled

  14. Well Ming, I dodn't even know what an etymologist was... or is that matter!

    Stew the dumass :teeth:

    Stew

    Etymologist = wordsmith.

Someone who looks at the historically verifiable sources of the formation of a word and the developement of its meaning.

I just love word for words sake mate. LOL

    Ming the Thinker

  15. Being a self confessed ETYMOLOGIST and wordsmith of the queens fair language, a lexicographer of great steadfastness, I was horrified, nay indignant in the highest degree to see the one word that reigns above all others in this language and covers in a multiplentitude my ongoing love affair with all things language related, ETYMOLOGIST spelled incorrectly!!

    LOL

  16. Top result mate. The clarity of reflection shows the attention to detail. I am well impressed.

When you get to these levels of cleanliness then what ever you use the results are subjective. Some polishes/waxes/finishes are better on one colour than they are on others though so some experimenting, asking around is always worth it.

Personally I use 'Sonus' products as they come highly recommended from a friend who is a detailer by trade and I use P21S as a finisher.

When you have waxed a car as opposed to polished it you will not use polishing/finishing agents again.

Its odd but the car FEELS nicer and as I said at this level its all about perceptions.

I did a friends Volvo over the weekend and the difference was truly amazing and he has not washed or cleaned his car in a couple of YEARS!!!

He actually said that it looked better and newer than when he bought it and that was with only one coat of everything!!

    Well done

    Ming the Impressed

PS I agree with H5 in that it does seem to make the 'flake' look like it is on the top and there for stand out a lot more!

Again, thanks for the kind comments mate

Although I'm very impressed with the Megs stuff, as I've said, I'm getting ready to move up to "better" stuff.

Think H5 and your good self have now sold me on this P21 stuff, any recommendations on where to get it?

I just typed in Carnuba Wax in the search engine and found a Uk supplier. Delivered it should cost about £30 if I remember rightly.

I am towards the bottom of my second tub but i have done lots of cars as well as mine and Mrs Mings

    Good stuff though

    Ming the Converted

PS Its even better and quicker with my porter cable polisher!!

  17. I have got 3 colour changing LEDS red/green/blue and they random phase between the colours.... yeah baby !

my car is a disco when I KEY-OFF....and when i open it at night...

chavvy? perhaps... but i love it...

    :thumbs::headhurt:

Ming has got these too and I also think they are cool.

The colours are low light but very effective

Thought about them for side lights as well.

I can just imagine my colleagues faces as my side lights kept changing  The coolest panda car in town I reckon!!

  19. 1971 - I think - 1.5 Hillman Hunter that overheated like mad. Used to drive up hills and free wheel down them

Never quite killed it and sold it in the end for a 1.3 Mk3 Ford Cortina in white with a thin red 'Starsky and Hutch' stripe down the side and loads of lights and tweeters on it - all fitted before I got it!!LOL

I too loved all my old bangers and got immense satisfaction from getting loads and loads of miles out of cars that cost nothing.

I can remember setting off on a journey and being overjoyed THAT WE GOT THERE!!!!!

I learned sooooo much about cars from those days of simple mechanics and necessity!!
