  1. Well, my GT4's gone... swapped it yesterday for an S2000 I'm still somewhat surprised myself. After three months I came to the conclusion that while the 350Z is a fantastic car, it wasn't the right car for me. The grunt was great, but the roof didn't go down and I wasn't that keen on the Roadster version. I also found it to be too heavy. So I've gone for something lighter and more nimble but with comparable cost and performance. Very sad to see it go; ideally I'd have kept it and got the S2000 as well, but Mr Bank Manager would only get upset Gonna miss the torque and the noise that DC exhaust made I've offered someone first refusal on my car kit Bluetooth module, but if he doesn't want it I'll be sticking it on the classifieds for £75 plus P&P.
  2. The phone's a bit battered but works fine. £30 + p&p for the pair. PM me if you want 'em!
  3. Ok - so we're bimbling along in the car today and my phone rings and the bluetooth kit picks it up and it actually works. Then the phone rings again a bit later and it doesn't pick it up. Next call it does. WTF?!?!?!
  4. My XDA Exec also has had problems with bluetooth, as teddy said the new version helps, have you dropped it? last problem I had was the bluetooth connection kept dropping half way through conversations, basically the motherboard had cracked, according to O2 technical, this can cause serval problems with the bluetooth settings. It works (more or less) ok with my Bluetooth headset and certainly doesn't have the same kind of problem where the voice isn't passed through but everything else works. I've had several different MS smartphones since they were first launched (what does this say about my inability to learn from past mistakes ) all of which have had issues of one sort or another - I really should just get an ordinary phone and stop being seduced by promises of convergent technology
  5. Thanks folks - I've been reluctant to install the latest ROM image on the phone as it's supposedly even slower than previous versions. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet
  6. Well, I got my bluetooth module the other day and so far so not impressed Got it paired with my phone fine (02 XDA Exec), can use voice dialing ok. Problem is is doesn't want to pass the actual call through to the hands-free system - so the once the call connects it's still coming out of my phone! Anyone else had this problem and, more importantly, found a solution?

    Sat Nav thingy!!!

I've got a PDA phone (Orange SPV M2000) and a Arkon GPS car cradle I was about to stick on eBay if that's any use?
  8. Have you seen this: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2633

  10. Michael - I've PM'ed you I've come to the conclusion that the tonneau cover was very much a last minute afterthought - what a riduculous design! I've fitted it - whether it stays there is another matter... Still, it has noticably reduced road noise from the rear and made the drive a bit more civilised - until you boot it of course
  11. Just got a tonneau cover off eBay but theres no fitting instructions with it - just four metal brackets, two with screws and rubber grommet thingies and a couple of allen key bolts. The tonneau cover itself has four knob-headed ( ) things that presumably attach to the brackets. Does anyone have any fitting instructions or is it really obvious once you get in in place? Thanks!
  12. Parked right next to the kerb deliberately - if you saw the number of door dings on my GTV you'd understand why...
  13. No - this one had charcoal leather. BTW: aren't the cameras in phones crap!
  14. Went for a pizza tonight in Mansfield and what did I end up parking next to?
  15. Like bloody buses: wait all day then two come at once
  16. Why don't you use the button to toggle through the settings on the rightmost dial in the middle set (the one nearest the steering wheel) to show the MPH?
  17. Judas' other half here, hi all As well as bunny giblets the front of the Z was pretty much coated in fly innards too. So we sprayed on some Autoglym insect remover then got some Bounty kitchen roll (it's the only stuff that stays intact wet) dipped it in some lukewarm water and laid the sheets all over the front of the car. Left it to soak including spraying more water to keep it wet for about 20 minutes. Then grab the tissue and wipe off bugs. Most came away immediately and the others came off with the jet wash or the soapy sponge. If the car is particularly dusty though give it a quick rinse first. Trace
  18. I was doing, er... 0.9 units down a straight country road. Saw the little bugger run in front of me but had no choice except to hit it - didn't even try braking. Made a good, loud bang! It was dark by the time I got home and I had to rush out first thing this morning, so I didn't even realise it had done any damage until this afternoon. The impact broke the bottom of the splitter and one of the slats on the grille - that must have been where it came through, hitting the oil radiator and bending a load of fins on that. Judging by what I retrieved from the engine bay it would have been dead immediately at least (big chunk of it's skull bone was sticking out its head! ) I've managed to get the crack in the splitter closed up, so at least it can't be seen without close examination. I'll have to find out if it can be repaired, 'cos I really don't fancy forking out for a replacement
  19. Took the GT4 out for a blast yesterday. On the way home Mr Bunny decided to play chicken an run out in front of the car. Result GT4 1, Mr Bunny 0. Or so I thought. This morning it transpired it was a score draw: Not only that, but the damn thing had hitched a ride too! Only had the car a week and already have managed several hundred quid's worth of damage to it! At least I'm assuming that's what a whole new front end will come to if it can't be repaired.
  20. And if you think that's low, I'm paying £382 fully comp!
  21. Just bought a black coupé, having never seen any in Nottingham then a few days later there's one following me out of town on Huntingdon Street before it turned up Woodborough Road. So much for exclusivity...
  22. I'll ask Charlie and let you know. Response from Charlie: "They were indeed!" HTH
  23. Yeah, I've met him a few times - he's one of the regulars on Pistonheads.
