  1. Mm, makes you wonder. Surely whatever your driving you don't just spin for no reason on a dry surface. Wonder if he's a member on here..........

Thats potentially what makes you a better driver than him, you understand the reasons it happens.

He is incinuating that as he did it, you will too, as being female, you obviously arent as good a driver as him

It doesnt half p*ss me off when people assume women are crap drivers. Out of all my mates, ther are only two I would let drive my cars, one is my best mate who used to race cars and anther is my GF. Ok so shes no Schumacher but she is still a very good driver, better than those who have much more powerful cars.

  2. Thats a real bummer mate. As the guys say, might be worth looking at Nissal Select/Approved motors. You pay a bit more but its more piece of mind I guess. I have just put a deposit down on a 53reg GT w/ 28k miles for £18.5k. More than I would have liked to pay, but it is a select car.

Either way dont get disheartened, you will appreciate the Zed when you get one even more :D

  3. They dont seem too clued up on this. They have put polishes, waxes and sealants in the same test. I dont know a massive amount about it all, but even I know they dont do the same thing!

I think I'll stick to getting recommendations from sites like this one where people know the difference

  4. Yup - A nice layer of AG SRP then a layer of P21S/Victoria Concours Wax, wait 24 then put another layer on and you will have once gloosy looking car which will not need waxhing for a good while and will clean soo much easier

Agreed. P21S looks the mutts, but it doesnt last too long. 2 coats makes it wear a bit better. But hey, the wet look looks awesome. Made my Leon look like new every time.

  5. Well I put a deposit down on one yesterday :yahoo:

Gun metal, GT Pack w/ Alezan leather, all the usual mod cons, ~30k miles/53 reg. Should be here in a week or so ("upto 10 days" I'm told). Garage gave me £8250 for mine which is slightly less than I wanted but a lot more than teh £7-7500 I was quoted. Managed to haggle a little getting free 1yr tax and first service as well as £250 off the price.

Cant wait to get my hands on it, but will be sad to see my Leon go :byebye:

  6. I'd like to be there if I find a Zed in time. Wont be looking for track time, but would like to park at the stand and not out in the car park! When would they be seriously be gone?

EDIT: Well I put a deposit down on a car, will let you know when I get delivery and can get a car pass if they havent all gone :yahoo:

  7. I will no doubt miss my Leon FR when that goes in a couple of weeks. Its been a brilliant little runabout with enough power to give it some beans, but also a boot that could swallow anything. I will miss the space, but the Zed is a lot more car!

Maybe we should have a fairwell thread to all cars that were (if there isnt already one) :byebye:

  8. Thanks for the heads up. Been meaning to try these, but too expensive to buy at Halfrauds. Will get down Morrisons and get some :teeth:

I was the same - liked the idea but cost a bit too much for what it was.

I took one of the sets and their last 4 packs of filters and last 4 bottles of shampoo :)

Filters supposedly last 10 washes so that should do for now :D

LOL glad you dont live in Basingstoke otherwise there'd be none left for me! :scare:

  9. I sourced my Z through Nissan select, available through the Nissan website.

Got a 5 month old GT with a thousand miles on the clock for 26k. Could sell it tomorrow for a grand profit.

Right now though they have zero stock so they are in much demand!!

Check daily though as they are always adding.

That is the current plan. There are a few for £18k which I am looking at. That seems to be the sweet spot at present between price and mileage. I am looking at that together with either trading in my car at Nissan or using wewillbuyyourcar.com and selling my Leon the same day I pick up the Zed.

  10. There is no doubt I would get more privately the unique problem I have with private sales is I cant predict when it will go. I need to be able to cleanly cut over from my Leon to a Zed, as I need the funds from my sale for the purchase of a Zed and I cant be without a car as I work on client site. This way I can tell them when to come and get it and I can arrange to get the Zed the same day.

The site does seem legit, but I will be confirming with HSBC to make sure they are a valid trader. I do think its funny they try to reassure ppl with - "you will recieve email confirmation from HSBC" - as its so easy to spoof an email, I used to do it all the time at uni scaring ppl with emails from "admins". However, I have seen several legit places review it, autoexpress being one, and another reference from a Yorkshire paper saying it was a new startup company. I would hope my experience of the matter (IT Consultant and have an MSc in Computer Science which inc internet securities) would me I could spot a fraud.

Cheers for the advice guys. :D

  11. I'm tempted to give HSBC a call. They are my bank and should be able to confirm if they are legally trading I guess. There were reviews that said they didnt offer much, and that they only do good offers for cars <3yrs old, which is why I seem to have gotten a good deal I guess.

I'm going to take my car to Basingstoke Nissan at the weekend and see if they agree at £7k. Parkers and Which Car both suggest £8.5-9k, so wewillbuyyourcar seem to be fair.

Back to google bashing. Going to email them and see what their response is like, and also if they are giving to give a telephone number etc. Hopefully I've been around on the net for long enough to sniff out a scam.

  12. Hey guys,

In a bid to get rid of my Leon via the easiest possible route, I stumbled across this site www.wewillbuyyourcar.com . At the Nissan stealership, they said they could give me "around £7k" but this site will offer nearer £9k.

I have read reivews from sits like autoexpress and other reivews (not trusted sites like autoexpress), and they seem to be legit, if anything offering ppl less than expected which logically is to be expected of a company like this. Apparently they will arrange a pickup and will wire the money to you via HSBC (and I am with HSBC) and will take the car once the wire is complete. Seems quite dodgy but if it works then can be an easy way for me to get rid of my car quickly and get a Zed :tumbs

Anyone used, or know someone who has used them?

  13. Cool! Let me know how the drive goes...

Well good and bad news from my drive, although not all bad. Went for the drive in a lovely 55 reg Zed with only 6k on the clock (alas not one I can afford), and I was very impressed. The speed is very deceptive. The stealer took it out first, drove like a wuss, which is when I thought it wasnt very quick. Then I got a go and booted it! :yahoo: It certainly was quick! I'd say it didnt feel as quick as my mates Evo, but it was very deceptive, doing silly numbers before I knew it. Felt very planted and didnt ride as harshly as I thought it would. Certainly puts my Spanish barge to shame, but hey it was worth twice as much brand new! Very very impressed.

The bad is that the car I was thinking of getting from the stealer is more than he originally told me. Its a 53 reg (Dec), 46k on the clock and wanted £17k. I thought I could knock him down to say £16.5, but hes now saying they want £18. It is me or is that rather over priced? At another stealer, I can get a 53 with 33k on the clock for £18.5, and thats before we even start looking privately. Plus the powers that be have told me I cant use the £4k I had saved up as we are trying to get a house and I need it for that. Boooo. Upshot of this is that post pay rise (yay promotion!) I should have a bit more cash and can get one, but thats in July time

  14. Ian,

How hard was this to do? I am looking to get a Zed with GT pack (inc Bose obviously), which I will want to put my Pioneer w/ iPod connector in also. Is it as simple as an autoleads harness as it was in my Leon? I hear problems about the Bose amp...

    TIA

    Chris

  15. Thats how I look at it, the mileage is not that important, more the quality of the car overall.

A car with 20,000 motorway miles may be in better nick than one with 10,000 ragged miles on it.

Agreed, and its a shame more people dont look at it that way. My Leon has nearly 30k miles on it in only 18 months, so now it is worth sod all, but its still has that new smell inside! Its crazy, and thats why I doubt I will buy new again.
