  1. Right doing some testing, someone reply to this a few times please :)

I think what you need to do is "Unfollow" the topic at the top, then refollow it but set the notification when you do to "Offline" rather than "Immediate". I have a feeling you have a manual immediate subscription that thread alone.

  2. Read the docs carefully, is it 3MB or is it "Upto 3MB"? I'd bet my house its the latter. In which case you are stuffed. Why on earth did you sign up for £45/mo for Upto 3MB though? Thats woeful. I pay £11.50/mo for Infinity via PlusNet, which is a hell of a deal, but their standard offerings arent that much. Probably about a tenna a month for Upto 3Mb.

  3. So that was him thrashing you and not the other way round? Tell him I like him a lot hahaha, now you know what we feel like ;):teeth:

Yeah can't see me bothering with carbon stumpy, the standard one is just the front triangle so not really worth it. The S-Works is all carbon but mega bucks. Bronson C is what I'd be gunning for I think, major upgrade though so maybe in a few years! Can't really knock the Stumpy as it is, maybe get a new paint job to spruce it up as the matte paint is looking a bit shabby while the rest of it is pretty mint now with all the replacements.

You gonna lend me the dosh for some ENVEs then? I'm not convinced they'd be much lighter than my current ones, but guess a lot stiffer

  4. Is that about 12kg?? Riding that must feel like driving a tank :stir: ...I'm currently trying to get the weight on the road bike down to below 7.5kg, and even than I still think it's 0.5kg too heavy

Road bike is currently at 19lbs but thats bog standard. Still MTB is a bit quicker down the rough stuff ;)

Whats most shocking is my old hardtail was 28lbs and that was considered light XC when I got it and that only had 100mm of travel at the front. To have 140mm both ends and a dropper post isnt too shabby me thinks. Carbon frame next year I reckon, that will drop a wee bit more.

  5. XX1 has arrived, know what I'll be doing tonight :yahoo:

Lamenting how much you paid for a cassette?

Har har. I clearly dont ride as hard as you as my stuff seems to last longer :p Apparently the coating on the new cassette and chain is a lot harder than XX, seen a few comments from people who ran XX and mashed through cassettes in a few months who have been running XX1 for a year. So reckon with regular(ish) chain swaps it should last me a good while.

I've had to upgrade the hubs to Pro 2 Evos (change axle and bearings) so that it can take the XD freehub and managed to get that all done last night but it was too hot to carry on so have the cranks and rear mech to do tonight. Think I shouldnt have ridden home yesterday as it was too hot for it and bu**ered me! Hopefully get it all done tonight and a shakedown at Swinley tomorrow night :teeth:

  6. My head said to wait for X01 but who knows how long that will take to arrive, plus BD had good money off the RRP of everything (like 30%) so actually it wasnt that expensive, cheaper than something like X0 or XTR 2x10. Given how much I paid I reckon it'll only be about £100 more than X01 will cost new when it lands.

Ended up with a 30t front, it gives me a little bit less top and bottom than my 2x9 (36/22 11-34) so should be perfect for everything I want. Was tempted by the 32t but it would have lost me some climbing gears which means I'd be stuck when we come visit you! Plus I don't often spin out at top speed so no real loss there, even if 30t looks a bit less manly. Its what they're specing on all the new bikes coming out with X01 so sounds good to me!

Have you also seen the X01 cassette is black? Wonder how much that will be when it lands. Apparently the cassettes all have the same 3hr+ machining its only the coatings that are different, so I will expect the X01 cassette to be pretty damn expensive too. Good job I dont go through them very often. They are meant to last a lot longer now (XX1 and X01) with the new coatings.

  7. Threlkeld Loop

Leaving Scotland and LakeZ behind, some time to get some Lakeland riding in. Threlkeld is a loop Andrew has been trying to get us to do for ages. It sits between back of Skiddaw, Blencathra and Threlkeld.
