  1. Having read a lot of suggestions and had some feedback on the forum, I'm booked in to get Paintshield to protect the new car for me. I'm getting the standard pack done and thanks to the forum I get a nice 10% discount too.

Won't have far to travel either - getting it done at a dealer in Reading.

I hardly ever do any motorway driving and live real close to work, but I'll feel much happier with the protection on the front. :)

I'll update the thread tomorrow and let you all know how I got on.

  2. What polish did you use? I have heard of some polishes leaving a film over the sensors that causes this. Mer is a particular culprit for this,

Polish !?? haven't bothered yet... it's only a week and a half old... i think i'm supposed to lay off the polish for a couple of weeks..

  3. I dunno... you spend 30K on a car, it rains heavily all night, you go out to your car in the morning, put your laptop bag in the boot and close it shut only to have a load of water spray down your trousers.

I wouldn't have minded, only it looked like I'd had a 'little accident'.. again.

Shall I take the car back and demand a full refund?

  4. As I've never had rear parkiing sensors on a car berfore (or on any transportation for that matter, including mountain bikes, space hoppers etc.) I was suprised that mine 'failed' for a while after I'd washed the car.

However, I guess this must be completely normal, until they dry properly. I assume they'll also start to fail if I was to ever let the back get a bit dirty.

So - will there be another other times that I'll need to watch out for this? i.e. when it's frosty / icey ?

    Jim

    :)

  5. Welcome Ruben,

I picked up my brand spanking new GT Coupe Gunmetal on 1st Sept and have been loving it ever since.

I waited 3 months for mine, and the guys here helped keep me reasonably sane during the long wait..

But yes, it's worth it... although I keep getting requests for me to take people out for a spin in it.. took another two out from work today!

great choice on colour too... it's looks fab...

I didn't bother with the sat nav as I'd never use it, saved a packet and am going to get the car Paintshielded ASAP.. (hopefully this week).

Do you have an estimated deleivery date yet?

    Jim

    :)

  6. one tip though - when recording the phone no's don't try to say the whole number at once... say the 1st 6 numbers, it'll be repeated back to you, then say the remaining numbers...

it's not that clear in the manual... but it took me ages to figure it out and i was always cut off when i got the 8/9th number !
