Just a quick one... but I always though the Service Intervals went something like this:

P1, P2, P1, P3, P1, P2, P1, P3, etc. etc.

Having just off the phone to the dealer in Slough, they tell me my next service (after last years P2) should be a P3, and that the intervals now run:

P1, P2, P3, P1, P2, P3....

Anyone else heard this, am I going mad?

Tried calling the local-ish dealers yesterday (West London Motor Group) and couldn't get through to any services team, so will try again.

But yeah, I reckon I'll end up going to a local garage with the details printed :~)

First of all, once again this forum proves incredibly valueable in helping to diagnose this problem! Thanks to all who posted on this subject.

My problem, is that I'm just not mechanically skilled enough to attempt the grease fix.

So, I'll call my nearest dealer (slough or reading) for a quote but I suspect it'll be silly.

Out of interest, can anyone recommend a local garage / workshop for this kind of thing? (local to Bracknell.

Me too.. its driving me mad now.

Well, he never mentioned paying.. but I certainly did.. I told him that I'd get quotes and at least it wouldnt be my money paying for the work..!

I'll get a quote from Chips Away, bearing in mind they might just suggest resprays straight off, and go from there.

Any recommendations for local-ish body shops? (Bracknell / Wokingham / Reading area), or would Nissan dealer recommend any?

The guy did apologise eventually but said nothing about paying for any damage. Luckily he's a friend of a friend so I can find out all the detais I need about him for insurance... It may be the only option..

Hi all,

I'd be really grateful for any help and advice please, after an incident this afternoon.

(I'm trying to stay calm here!)

I was out for a photo shoot nr Reading with a couple of friends and their work colleagues to get some nice shots of my 350z and all of their cars too. After a few hours we moved to another area for some stills. Whilst my car was parked in a gravel carpark, one of the party (not a friend of mine), for some completely idiotic reason, decided to 'donut' in the gravel. Right next to my car.

The entire passenger side was completely pebble dashed from a couple of meters away; so much so that I honestly thought the window was going to smash. The car was covered with stones, dust and gravel. I could see some damage immediately. Somehow, I stayed calm enough not to hit him.

Anyway, I've since come home and carefully washed and dried the whole car, and I think I've 'escaped' with 5 or 6 six chips down the to bodywork, and another 30-40 smaller chips, probably (hopefully) just taking a layer of laquer off. It spans the whole side of the car, 3 or 4 panels..

I've contacted Chips Away requesting a quote, as I'm sending this guy the bill.

So, I'm really after any advice you can give me; I have so many questions buzzing around my head, and I'm still in shock of seeing what this complete idiot has done..

1. Are Chips Away any good?

2. Is this something I should pay for initially and then send this guy the bill, or should go through insurance?

3. Should I protect the chips immediately before any work is done?

4. Roughly (obviously) how much is this going to cost (him!)? Hundreds, Thousands? I really have no idea.

Like I said, any help / advice would be great, and thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I had a the guy delivering my chinese on Mon night commenting about the zed. I was being really polite and chatting away, but secretly thinking about the chicken satay... mmmm..

This is too late an idea for this calendar but how about for next year, you can only submit a photo for the month that the picture was taken in?

 

say i took a photo in december, the only month it can be entered for is december. therefore the pictures should relate to the weather outside

Great idea! my submitted my pic for the 2008 was my Z in the snow...

It's meant to be nice and sunny (yeah right) down south on Sunday.. so fingers crossed!

(even though I'm on my FIFTH box due to old hardware issues on the original boxes) !!

Mine's the same. I did get the dealer to look at the seat last year, but they couldn't find anything. Since then I've been convinced its the seat belt, cos the noise stops if i either hold it forward or (ahem) take the seat belt off for a split second.

I just haven't gotten annoyed by it enough yet to get the WD40 out..

Would be interested to see how you sort yours out tho...
