  1. ... and have to tell your family in the morning that you might not be back alive in the evening!
  2. Nabbed from another forum... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_HjXXUyQhPE F**k me! That footwork!
  3. how did they try to scam you? I got an email from Paypal saying that payment had been made. The email looked 100% genuine, I put it side by side with an old paypal email and it was identical, all the links at the bottom worked (took you through to genuine Paypal sites, including the "how to spot phishing" ones!) The email came from @paypal.co.uk. So, I checked my paypal account and there was no money in it. I got a couple of emails from the buyer saying that he had paid, and when should he expect the parcel. I then got an email from ebay, again, looked like the real deal, as above, and it was from a @ebay.co.uk address. This one said that the buyer had paid, but the money would not credit my paypal account until I inputted a Royal Mail tracking number. If I didn't do this within 24 hours then my ebay account would be shut down. That last thing was what made me sure it was a scam, and sure enough, by looking at the phishing pages on ebay, they said that that was a sure sign of phishing. The second sign was the fact that the Paypal and Ebay emails were addressed to "Dear Ebay Member" as opposed to your actual ebay login. That isn't something I noticed till I read about it. The fact that the emails came from @ebay.co.uk and @paypal.co.uk and looked identical to genuine ebay and paypal emails was unbelieveably scary. All the links at the bottom worked and sent you to genuine ebay pages, even the "spot the phishing" ones! I started to reply to them, and then you saw where they actually came from - from customerservices@googlemail.com on behalf of ebay.co.uk. All the emails were sent to the scam section of ebay and they confirmed that they were a scam, my listing was withdrawn and fees refunded. Can't prove anything directly against the buyer, although he is obviously guilty. I sent him an email saying that if I will at some point go to his house (he left his delivery address) and crack his skull open with a crowbar, should I see fit. I was He didn't reply.
  4. All of those accidents can also be caused by driving within the speed limit and just not paying attention ... Good ads though.

  6. ... on the back of a flatbed, M5 northbound J7 ish at 10:30 odd this morning....
  7. My phone is now up for sale. Damn this habit of always needing the latest phone http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180313466916 PM me if you have any questions
  8. The market is sh*te at the moment, I agree. I have been offered more than a couple of grand though from a dealer
  9. Bump! Now reduced to £4000!
  10. Good question! I am not sure about a stock E36 M3, as my car has KW Clubsports. I imagine a stock E36 now would be pretty wooly. With the KWs the M3 is absolute magic, almost feeling mid engined given how fast the steering response is, light and agile. Speed wise, to 60 it is about equal, third gear is much longer, taking you to over 100mph at 7500rpm. It pulls really strongly to 140 before petering out a little. I hit the speed limiter at 162 on the autobahn. Interior wise, it's solid, with good leather, and being 11 years and 110,000 miles old has less squeaks and rattles than my 3 year old Z did. That said, the styling is definitely 90s. All in all it gives huuuge performance for £7k. Although, given how fast Z prices are dropping, Zs are now awesome value
  11. A 335i is a ridiculously quick car, and in a straight line probably would be quicker than an E36 M3. The 335 though is a pretty heavy car, and is roooollllls a lot in the bends, certainly when I had a test drive a few months ago!
  12. The boot is colossal I am movable on price too Nah, not shutting the dog in the boot! The wife then maybe?
  13. The boot is colossal I am movable on price too
  14. Bump!! Price now reduced to £4500!
  15. Thanks mate - it is indeed a lot of car for the money. So, someone buy it! Any offer considered - make a silly one and you might get lucky!
  16. The car has KW clubsports - set and lowered to KW's settings for the ring
  17. Hiya Ricky! Long time Vanos is currently fine TBH if I hadn't bought this one I would definitely have bid on Jethro's E36 - it went for £10,500 on ebay which is an absolute bargain given what's been done to it, and the number of headaches it would save when starting from scratch like me I won't go as far as he did - you don't really need a BBK for the ring, and given I still drive it on normal roads I need the rear seats! I will however get a harness and decent seats
  18. A lot of car for the money mate I could have spent £2k less easily, maybe more, but most of those cars are a bag of nails. £7.5k got me one that is mint enough to use for it's intended purpose
  19. Good questions! I did think about either a year or two old 111R or an old VX NA which can be had for not much more than what I paid for the M3. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money (needed to pay off a few people ) which ruled out the Elise, and I wanted to pay for it outright. Another VX was very very tempting, but there was a feeling of "been there done that". Most of all is the cost of replacing bodywork - the price of a new clam on either car is huge relative to replacing panels on an old M3. Plus, every muppet can service or fix or rebuild an M3, especially near Nurburg, but getting an Elise or VX fixed, or even just spares / brakes and tyres near Nurburg is a bigger problem. I had that in the Z too - the Z standard tyre sizes are ones that aren't used very much at all on German cars, as most 18" are 35 or 40 profile. When I needed a new set whilst out there it took a lot of phoning and hassle
  20. The Z went in January - my daily drive is a V reg CLK and the M3 is mainly for the ring

    My new car

101,000 miles on the clock, 1997, 3.2 Evo with a 6 speed box. Stock car, with a new clutch, bushes, and KW Clubsports. £7500k I didn't buy the numberplate - it came with it I thought about getting an E46 M3, but it just looks too big, bloated, and much more expensive to run. If I had the balls I would have bought an E30, but I am a fan of the E36 - classic look, with no hint of Bangle anywhere The Clubsports are a revelation - the car changes direction instantly, with minimal amounts of roll. It feels like it's mid-engined - it's the closest I have felt to the feeling of driving a VX220 with so much feedback at the wheel. I took it out for a day at Millbrook before going to the ring, and it behaved superbly, even on old knackered tyres. Benign understeer at the limit, even in standing water, abuse it and you can do what you want. After Millbrook it did 30 laps of the ring in 2 days without breaking sweat Love these alloys

    BMW E39 535i

With huge regret, this car is now for sale: 535i, 3.5 litre V8, 5 speed auto. R registration, September 1997. Green metallic, full leather interior, BMW Business stereo upgrade with 6 CD changer and 6 speakers, cruise control, on board computer, dual zone climate control, independent rear vent control, multifunction steering wheel, all the usual BMW bits like a first aid kit, torch, warning triangle etc, none of which have been used. 6 Airbags. 101,000 miles with full service history. There are still two green blobs on the indicator, so the next service is still some time away. Taxed until December 2008, 1 full year MOT. Standard 16" alloys all round which are in excellent condition, with Falken FK452s on the rear (new) and Continental SportContact on the front (loads of tread left). This car has been immaculately looked after, looking and running like a dream. There are no squeaks or rattles inside. It happily cruises in virtual silence at continental cruising speeds, with a great V8 noise when revving hard. The 5 speed auto is ridiculously smooth, and although there is a manual override option, there is never the need. All in all I am very sad to see it go as it's one of the quickest and smoothest saloons I have ever driven, especially with the pre-Bangle looks, but I can't justify keeping it as it simply won't get used like it ought to now that it has become a 3rd car. £4000. This car has to go, so any reasonable offer considered! The car currently has a personalised registration which is not part of the sale - it will be re-registered to it's original year prior to sale (R reg) Viewings essential! I am based in Gloucester and Birmingham. Tel: 07970 199121 (phone often off during the day so please leave a message!) Evo X

The X has a 10k or 1 year service interval, and for £400, you can buy the 1000 mile run in service plus the first 3 normal services. No more 4.5k interval. Awesome And why am I not buying one? Cos I am fixing up my E36 M3 as a 'ring toy

    Evo X

Just had a test drive in one. Absolutely stunning. I am gobsmacked as to how good it is. Essentially the same drive as the Evo XIII and IX, with Germanic interior and build quality. All for £32k, with a sublime paddle shift and uprated ICE. I think it will be a terrific second hand bargain at 9 months/9k miles at £24-25k
