  1. ...for those of us who grew up with "Old school" computing. http://www2.b3ta.com/heyhey16k/
  2. These are brilliant! I've yet to do one myself. Perhaps something for later once I've had a few drinks...
  3. Can be quite amusing... http://www.grapheine.com/bombaytv/index_uk.php If anyone comes up with a masterpiece they'd wish to share - please post a link.
  4. Got sent these the other day... thought I'd share them.
  5. Make sure you've got your speakers turned on. Enjoy...
  6. Thanks guys. It seems as if choosing the right oil is a bit of a minefield - especially after reading an early post (http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2569). Is there a semi-synthetic oil you would recommend?
  7. I've just completed my running in mileage (done 1400 miles now) and am considering an oil change. Just so I understand what's already been said - change now to a semi-synthetic oil (something like a 5W-30) and then change to a fully synthetic oil at about 5000 miles (again something like a 5W-30)? At the same time, change both the sump plug and oil filter. Sorry if this seems like an unnecessary post - this is the first high-performance car I've owned and I want to make sure I look after it as best as possible. Thanks in advance.
  8. Was on my way to work this morning when I looked in the rear view mirror and found an Azure coupe with Nismo aero kit driving behind me. Couldn't quite work out the number plate - T9MYG was that you?
  9. No worries mate. Yep, the car looked modded to me from what I saw of it.
  10. I looked at a roadster (although only briefly) and was a little disappointed in it. I had a Megane Cabriolet at the time and was comparing the two. The Megane had a double skinned roof which hid the folding mechanism (which was visible in the Z). The second skin was also a light colour which really brightened up the interior of the car (the interior of the Z was quite dark in comparison). The passenger seat in the Z tips forward to allow the roof to fold away and there's only about half the boot space compared to the coupe. On the plus side you are quite protected from wind buffeting (at least compared to the Megane). There's a glass rear screen - the plastic ones turn yellow after a while and can crack. Oh, and there's nothing like being able to put the roof down at the slightest bit of sun. Everything else pails into insignificance... Couldn't tell you what the two were like to drive in comparison - didn't do that many miles in the roadster. At the end of the day it's all about personal preference. The roadster didn't quite fit in with what I was after - but I will miss my Megane next summer.
  11. I was sat at my desk yesterday afternoon and was a tad bored, so I decided to look out the window for some inspiration and saw a sunset roadster driving past. Going north along The Boulevard in Worthing.
  12. Yep, the bonnet does not look good. I like the looks of the wheels though... but that maybe down to the beer goggles I'm wearing at the moment...
  13. Belkin have started selling FM transmitters in this county, although there is a disclaimer saying that their use maybe illegal in certain european countries. My understanding as to why the iTrips are not available over here is because they haven't passed the necessary safety standards. They are only FCC compliant which is a US thing. The Belkin gadgets are CE certified so they can be sold in this country. PC World are selling them one of the Belkin gadgets. They plug into the headphone socket so can be used with any device. £28 I believe. Don't know what the quality is like though.
  14. I don't know what the noise limits are at other circuits, but Goodwood is quite strict because of complaints from local residents. They have two days - a 98dB one and a 105dB one - but I'm not sure how many revs the readings are taken at - I have a feeling it's 4000. I remember Hagar has done a track day at Goodwood. If you're out there Hagar, are you able to shed any light on this?
  15. Thanks for your comments guys. Good spot indeed. I took a trip to Goodwood during the afternoon as I thought it would be a good place to get some photos. There's also a tunnel that runs under the circuit - very good to listen to the roar of the engine with the windows down. There happened to be a track day going on when I was there. There were the usual suspects - 911, Elise, etc. I think the most unusual car was a Westfield XTR2. Didn't get to see it go round the track though. If I'm ever in the position to get an extreme track day car - the XTR would have to be it.
  16. Hi everyone, Just thought I'd pop a quick message up to say that after nearly 4 months of waiting, my new toy has arrived. I looked at a lot of cars before deciding on the 350Z, but I've absolutely made the right decision. Every time I start the car up and hear the exhaust roar it puts a grin on my face. And the amount of attention it gets is incredible - as my better half keeps informing me. All in all, I'm chuffed to bits! Now, enough of sitting in front of a computer - I'm going off for a drive.
  17. Some insurance companies I spoke to about my old car (a Renault Megane Cabriolet) didn't even give a discount for it being in the garage. Still, I'd rather have it garaged than risk leaving the car out overnight.
  18. Wes, I can see where you're coming from with regard to cramming as many houses in as possible - greedy property developers - but surely the house at the end of the road didn't need an extra 15 foot of garden?! I'll blame them for the fact my garage is too narrow and the difficulty I'll have getting in and out of my car. I quite like some of the parking solutions used in London - a lift which takes your car into an underground parking space - park up, get out of the car, and watch it disappear into the ground. Don't have to worry about not having a wide enough garage - nor the vandals who take out their jealousy on your car. Shame I've just had the driveway relaid...
  19. Thanks for all your advice - it is much appreciated. I don't understand why garages are made so narrow when modern cars are so big. Perhaps there's some 1940's standard for garages that's still in use today... Anyway, I know what I'll be doing this weekend - preparing the garage for my new toy - should be picking it up next week. Can't wait!
  20. Hi everyone, In about a weeks time I'm going to be picking up my new car. Unfortunately I don't live in a particularly good area and for some reason everyone stops outside my house to argue/fight. I'm a little nervous about leaving my car on the driveway in case I find it's been vandelised during the night so I'm looking to keep it in my garage. While my garage is big enough to get the car in, I'm not sure there's enough space for me to get out of it once it's in the garage. I did some measuring up last night and I reckon I've got about 40cms (16inches in old money) of space to open the door and get out. Does anyone have a similar situation and are able to say whether that is generally enough space to get out of the car? Or whether they have any advice on how best to garage the car? The last thing I want is for my pride and joy to be damaged by someone who doesn't have two braincells to rub together. Many thanks
  21. A friend of mine has something similar. PGR3 rocks big time on that setup! Just got to have a word with the missus about getting one myself... ...plus a bigger house to fit it all in!
  22. When I was in my local dealers, I saw on their computer (in big red letters) that the 06 Roadster didn't come with phone integration but that it could be retro fitted at the customers request once it became available. That was about 4 months ago now so things could have changed since then...
  23. I work in Worthing - was on my way home tonight and saw it parked down The Boulevard in Durrington.
  24. White with a black roof (at least I think it was black - had my shades on and was bombing along in the other direction) parked in Worthing, West Sussex.
