  1. If you like. I wanted to come home in one piece rather than post a record time
  2. It was on all day. The instructor told me too and advised that I would be slower with it off as the backend would be all over the shop. I used to hate the esp kicking in but now I realise the massive help that it is. Plus on more than one occasion it probable saved my life
  3. And these are the ones I would expect to beat a 350z. Even with only half decent drivers you would expect those real track cars to have beaten your time which is 2nd according to the report Yes but I am second out two Only two people, who have come directly via Piston Heads have done this session. The other cars were there but not participating in the challenge. There is a list posted on my Top Gear Track Day thread with a list of about 15 other people who have done it in the said mentioned cars and all bar 3 or 4 beat me. I did beat an Elise, VX220 and a Subaru if I remember correctly. The leader posted 1:27.99
  4. Ok. Time to wrap this up boys and girls. I think the point has be conveyed sufficiently and we obviously ain't gonna solve the worlds problems on a car forum Can we lock the thread? Liam
  5. I think Kev946 would disagree with that - remember the BMW thread? Thats right. They closed ranks on him, banned him and didn't give him his money back. He did deserve it though
  6. Nope I bet you wore brown/black boxers just in case! When the instructor drove my car i did require a change of boxers
  7. Nope not even your head Nah, its a bit fluffy at the mo
  8. I didn't think your posts were offensive in the slightest but I did disagree with your interpretation of Clarkson's comment. On the above - rubbish. Thats ok Its going to look different from inside the of goldfish bowl looking out.
  9. Not if i do it you wont. Put your money where your mouth is then
  10. A plane needs to be moving forward to take off. On that conveyor belt it would be static Only if the power was coming from the wheels. Its the jet engines that are moving the plane forward, not the wheels. (granted, the wheels would be spinning seriously quickly) If you put a plane on sheet ice with the brakes hard on and turned the jets on it would still move forwards even though the wheels were stationary. No idea if it could get off the ground but it would move forwards because of the jet power giving you air flow and lift. The conveyor belt would just make the wheels turn backwards whilst the plane was being jet powered down the runway conveyor belt thing. My vote's a yes . But if you bring into account that the engines pushing the plane forward on the conveyor belt then the wheels would be going round faster. If the wheels go round faster the conveyor belt would speed up neutralising the forward motion of the plane hence rendering the plane static. Therefore: NO LIFT
  11. If you read the pistonheads thread the first car to do it was a Hyabusa Westfield There are Nobles, NSX's, Elises and VX220's in my pics and already on the leaderboard, how fast do want them

  13. What boost were you running and could you translate that into BHP About 11psi at the time. Must be in the region of 450bhp, with torque probably about 450 lb/ft. Another thing that makes me think about the Aston figures is this. My friend who has a 200sx running 300bhp had a proper go against one. He said that the Aston was just managing to pull on him, albeit very slowly. To put it in comparison, he said that the Aston was that little bit quicker than his car, in the same way that my old Vortech Zed used to be quicker than his. With my car running 11psi, the Aston was totally, and I mean totally murdered. I would have gone upto full boost, but was struggling for traction badly as it was. Do you have a Turbo Boost button like knight rider
  14. Bump No way it could take off
  15. What other cars would you expect to be there?
  16. They are at home so i cant. PLus they are ex girlfriends so for meeeeeeee to seeeeeeeeee But i may send some of this girl who really peed me off. In fact id post her up , lol Get them up or PM'd Plus ex girlfriends are even better Not now, need my home computer for that. I will email you one lot as i cant stand her and she needs to be shamed. Thats your task for the day. Sod the presentation
  17. Explain. What conundrum are you thinking of?
  18. Nah, not for me mate. Well maybe not just yet
  19. Go for it mate. Graham was as good as gold with me even though I've never been anywhere near a track in my life. Driving around a track with loads of other cars to crash into never appealed to me. The fact that this offered timed laps, on a famous bit of track, with no other cars to hit and one-to-one tuition made this a winner for me
