    Hot off the lathe!

Crafty! Shall be PMing you once I've managed to decide between brushed and shiny. Shiny looks nicer but brushed goes better with the interior bits I think. Are you're still making them in steel for those that want it? The heavier the gearknob the better the shift in my experience. The stock one is WAY too light. Yep Stainless steel one is nice and weighty, I've got my Traders details set up so I'm taking orders now http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=23151
  7. You may have seen my thread in the interior mods section: http://www.350z-uk.c...hp?f=53&t=22831 some of you got to check them out at the Wales meet and the feedback was very positive. I'm now opening up these gearknobs for general order, options are: Nismo Style Stainless Steel in polished or brushed satin finish Aluminium in polished or brushed satin finish The gearknobs can be laser engraved on the side and/or the top standard options are the 350z logo, the 'Z', the Tommy K Zed logo even the gearselector logo. Custom laser engraving can also be arranged, if you want a particular design doing, pm me for details. If you are after a very high polish finish then stainless steel does tend to come up with a slightly better finish than aluminium. Approx Weights Stainless Steel : 475g Aluminium : 185g Prices Aluminium £60 Stainless steel £90 prices include P&P payment by paypal, PM for details 'Girth' For those who like (or maybe are used to? ) a little more to hold onto, this design is a bit more meaty than the nismo style, available in the same finishes as above. Prices Aluminium £70 Stainless steel £105 prices include P&P 'Tapered' A slimmer tapered design, available in usual finishes. Prices Aluminium £60 Stainless steel £90 prices include P&P 'Torpedo' A slightly chunkier more rounded design, available in usual finishes. Prices Aluminium £70 Stainless steel £100 prices include P&P Laser Engraved Accessories I'm also putting together a range of laser engraved zed branded accessories, will be building up this range as i find things i can engrave! Polished stainless steel keyring Size is 70mm in total length, rectangular section is 37mm x 25mm price is £10 inc. postage. The keyring normally comes with the 350z on one side and the Z on the other, as with the gearknobs this can be varied and custom designs can be arranged as always PM for details. Magnetic Bolt tray /Ashtray With a strong magnet and a rubber base to prevent scratches this small dish will hold itself onto a metal surface and is great for keeping nuts and bolts in one place while you dismantle your Zed! 11cm diameter. price is £6 inc. postage. Usual engraving rules apply Torches Aluminium 9 LED torch 8.5cm long with push button switch at the end and lanyard, available in 'Azure' blue, 'Kuro' black and 'Blade' Silver takes 3 x AAA batteries (not supplied) Price is £8 inc. postage Playing Cards Perfect for those 'traffic jam' moments a mini pack of playing cards set in a polished metal case Price is £14 inc. postage Lighter Oil Fueled lighter in polished chrome Price is £10 inc. postage Alloy tax Disc Holder Tax Disc Slides into the holder through a slot in the side, no fiddly removing of the back, comes with sticky tabs fixing kit. £14 inc. postage

That stainless one looks great and should be nice and heavy too. This might sound like a strange question but there does the 350z logo end up when the gearknob is fully screwed on? Does it differ from car to car? Well i'm working on the theory that the oem gearknobs probably aren't made for a specific car so i think the thread starts at the same place on each gearshaft. So after i make one i screw it tight onto my car, mark the centerline and then engrave there so the 350Z (and gear selector on top) aligns with the middle of the car.

    V1, V2, V1, V2 argghh!

Well once i can afford it yeah, its the spraying and fitting costs that seem to push the cost through the roof! Still cant make my mind up on the front end but will probably be V1 from there backwards, though those greddy side skirts are also very nice.....
  14. Well after the wales meet, and seeing all those lovely kitted zeds i definately am going to start saving for some bodykit goodness, though i'm finding it really hard to decide between the Nismo V1 or V2 front end! Due to my stupid steep drive i have to watch for ground clearance and wondered if anyone with a V2 front bumper and standard ride hide could measure their clearance? I managed to check a V1 on Sunday but never got round to measuring a V2 that hadn't been dropped to the ground and am not sure if theres a difference between the two? Anyone got a good pic of a black zed with a v2 kit on btw? before i delve into the world of googling...
  15. Awesome pic bud, nice to meet you at the meet too, looks Yeah you too mate, been working on your laser-pic, testversion coming soon!

    Hot off the lathe!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, special thanks to Chris for letting me try his uk gearknob on my car and to Paul for ripping panels out to test fit on the green beast! (let me know how the hacksaw work goes! ) I will hopefully be lasering the brushed aluminium finish one tomorrow with gearselector design on the top. I've also started work on an aluminium one to polish up fully. Once i have those done i'll post pics and start a for sale thread, if anyone wants to order one before then just drop me a PM. As far as making an aluminium one with a weighted top? Well let me have a think on the best way i could accomplish that and i'll come back to you on it Chris
  17. This should link to the full size version: http://l28meq.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pRk0vDancoTc4JiMUalQE-cGInkjX4KHysmyBClOVQX8CrNg6kYXB3ah5gzuT0PkeTD5g74YMRhSBJIi_YBXIwm5h4MABzUKh/PanoramaSun.jpg
  18. yep definate a big thanks to the organisers, was a great day and a fantastic sight seeing a solid line of zeds snaking across the mountains though some pretty incredible scenery.
  19. I believe it was sunset 350z, from what i heard when i got back to Chester Services he and his lad are ok but the car is probably a write off couple of pics:
  20. got a k&N replacement panel filter and currently being refurbished but hopefully ready on Saturday a set of 19" Dare Hiro wheels (i wont be bringing them along to the meet but i only live a mile from the chester services if anyone want to view them (and if i can get them back from the polishers on time of course!) also bringing a few of the Laser engraved keyrings: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=22540&start=45 and gearknob examples :http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=22831
  21. Best of luck to everyone travelling up for the weekend, come rain or shine a road ful of Zeds will always look stunning I live a mile from the meeting point at the services and would like to thank the organisers for the thoughtful convenience.

    Hot off the lathe!

Cheaper than a Nismo yep, but really you're paying for an individual hand-lathed piece rather than a mass produced CNC one that the world and his wife can buy As far as metal colours let me see what i can come up with

    Hot off the lathe!

Mines in the loft somewhere, I will donate it to a good cause if I can find it in the loft in my car bits box I found my original one if you want it to test it? You could keep it if you want to give me a discount on testing a new one However I think the thread will be the same with all of them That would be great if i can just borrow it for a minute on Sunday to test on my car, if it fits then hopefully it should mean that all the threads are the same between UK and JDM models.
