  1. It's a 2003 import. It is the headlight bulb. Sidelight ok. Full beam ok. Do these ever 'come loose' or something. I only just got the car and it got through an MOT before i picked it up. Unlikel;y it went since i got it.... I'll try vision bulbs - got a number for them?
  2. Hi folks, one of my headlights has gone - anyone know a good place to buy these. I didn't realise they were in the region of £160! per bulb. Also, was looking in Technical section but couldn't see instructions on replacement..is this easy? Thanks Andrew
  3. One small thing - Bonsai's interpretation of delimiting a 350z differs from mine. I flew to Southampton and spent a couple of days hanging around waiting for DVLA to register. In that time they gave me 'pre-reg' plates. The first thing i noticed was (naughty i know) the car wouldn't go over 120mph. When i asked they said they didn't delimit 350s. Anyway, without going into detail i spoke to Chris down there and explained this was in the T&Cs. They then installed (free of charge to be fair) an HKS delimiter which takes off all limits. That would cost over £200 so is worthwhile. From the car arriving in the docs it took me 3 weeks to drive it away.
  4. Hi, i just bought a 2003 350z from Bonsai. I am actually thinking of doing an article which covers everything off. There are a good few things you would want to be clear about. The car is fine though. It managed to get through the MOT with one of the headlights not working though!
  5. Hi folks, when i have my tiptronic in manual mode and it moves itself down to 1st gear (from 3rd say), it seems to be a little bit 'sticky'. It's hard to describe but it just doesn't feel quite as smooth as i expected. When it moves down to 1st while braking it just makes the faintest sound and the faintest 'jump' down. A bit surprising. It doesn't happen all the time. It;s very faint and hard to describe. When i apply the accelerator while down changing, it seems to be ok. If i take my foot off the gas and just use the brake, the down change to low gears isn't perfect. There is the faintest noise and tiny 'shudder' - 'shudder' being too trong a word really. Has anyone experienced this at all/anything similar? I had an FTO Tiptronic previously and while not in the same league in reality the Tiptronic down change was like silk for all gears - i'm surprised the 350 doesn't seem to be quite as smooth going down from say 2nd to 1st. I have noticed it happening ever so slightly from 3rd to 2nd also. Other gears are perfect when i move them down manually. Any ideas? Thanks Andrew
  6. Thanks a lot folks for all this advice. Much appreciated. Sorry for the delay in responding. The car is a 2003 model. I do have the Bridgestone Potenza KZs right enough. I have examined the front tyres. I'm still not an expert on the 'feathering' phenomena but from what i can see it does look like the edge at least has a very slight 'ragged' look to them even though the tread depths appear ok. I checked all the tyre pressures and they appeared to all be below the 2.4 bar printed on the inside of the door. When i pumped them up a bit, the problem seemed to reduce ever so slightly. From what you guys are saying this is probably it but it could be brakes. That's fine - i am much more reassured thanks. I had just never heard a noise like that on any car (!) before. Thanks a lot guys, i'll keep you posted. I might as well ask - what tyres will put the feathering problem to bed? Michelins? / anything other than the KZs? Or is it more an alignment problem? Thanks Andrew
  7. Hi folks, i am currently in France and a problem has hit. When i am driving slowly say 20-30 mph there is quite a 'loud' noise - the best i can describe is a 'wearing/light grinding' sound. When i accelerate it goes. When i brake it gets louder (or seems to). My gut feeling is that the brakes need replaced. If so, how come the sound is there at low speeds when i am not pressing the brake? Would you expect that? On one or two occasions the sound hasn't been there at all. The car doesn't seem to be mechanically affected in terms of accelerating/braking/handling but it sure doesn't sound great at low speed to me. Anyone experiened this/any ideas? Thanks Andrew
  8. Ah, but i've bought the '350' from one of the chaps on the Forum. Don't think there'll be a template.....
  9. Ah, that race just isn't the same since Porsche stopped taking it seriously.
  10. Is that legal though? I mean, how can you insure the car in UK while in Norway. And if not doing that, how can you insure in Norway while not being registered there???
  11. Hi there, might be moving over to Ireland and taking the 350z over also. Does anyone know can a private uk plate move over also? If not, can you get a private plate in Ireland? Not sure the best way round this, if there is one....
  12. Thanks folks, that's great. Any tips on the spacing between the numbers and between the numbers and the Z. If i just leave the Z on and take off the Fairlady only....is it just judgement against a decent picture?
  13. Hi there, has anyone here changed the 'Fairlady' badge on an import to a 350 badge? I read the post from someone who changed the Nissan front and rear badges, but i am a bit wary about the Fairlady badge since it is on 'open bodywork' - don't want to mess it up. So 1) Has anyone taken the Fairlady badge off? 2) Where do i get a 350Z badge? Thanks Andrew
