  1. ALERT******NO LONGER FOR SALE******

With deep regret, I have my pride and joy up for sale. Finance clear.

    £13,995 ono

Owned by myself since new, in December 2003, the Zed has provided long and faithful service. There is no outstanding finance, and no accident damage. The Zed is UK supplied, and probably the best value Zed on Ebay! Moving jobs has meant I have to sell the car. The car is taxed until the end of November 2008, and MOT'd until December 2008. Every conceivable extra has been fitted. The car comes with RAYS alloy wheels, Alezan leather upholstery, Alpine DVD satellite navigation (with the very latest DVD update (NVD Z004), hardwiring for an Origin B2 safety camera system, Digital Television (not analogue), Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Phone system (integrated into stereo), Alpine stereo system (DVD video, CD, IPod input), JL Audio amplifier, Infinity Kappa Perfect speakers, Nismo stainless steel exhaust (fitted 2007), KW Variant 3 suspension (fitted 2008), DBA brake discs and Ferrodo DS2500 pads (pads fitted this year). Full Hunter 4 wheel laser tracking (September 2008).

Fitted as standard: Xenon headlamps, cruise control, climate control, ABS, ESP, heated leather seats, electric seats. The car has a full Nissan service history. A major service (FP3) has recently been carried out at the local Nissan dealer. Brand new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx have been fitted in the last couple of months to the rear.

The car is a bargain, even without accounting for all the extras included.

    Servicing:

(All by local Nissan Main Dealer):

    FP1 (8/3/2004 @ 9,059 miles)

    FP2 (3/8/2007 @ 88,796 miles); gearbox oil changed

FP1 (5/12/07 @ 99,448 miles); limited slip differential oil changed

FP3 (18/4/08 @ 108,825 miles); new New platinum spark plugs fitted, new auxilliary drive belts fitted

It is with great regret that my car is for sale. The very low price reflects mileage and faults listed above, as well as the extensive upgrade to specification.

    No Part Exchanges please.

  2.

furthest travelled today was Michael who had a round trip of over 600 miles to have his suspension fitted and set up, now that's customer commitment.

Thanks for all your support :teeth:

Well worth the trip! KW variant 3 fitted. Superb upgrade. Phil also swapped my butterfly valve over (got off callibration after I cleaned it)!

  3. While I was getting my suspension fitted at Big Phil's, someone from the site asked me what the benchmark ringtimes were (I said I'd look into it). I checked with my mate, and he can do it in c. 8 mins 45 seconds (He won his Zed racing on a Playstation); he said the benchmark was c. 8' 20".

  4. With great regret, I am putting my 350Z up for sale. It is well known to the UK 350Z community, and was featured in magazine articles about a trip to Istanbul.

Taxed until November 2008 and MOT until December 2008.

It is for sale on Ebay (3 day listing) with NO RESERVE! Starting bid £10,995!

    FP1 Beadles Nissan 99,448 miles December 2007

The car has mainly been used on the motorway. It really is a Grand Tourer, I have driven to the continent without any problems several times, including a trip to Istanbul, which was featured in some magazines.

This is a very reluctant sale.

    No traders/canvassers.

    No test pilots.

You are bidding to buy. It would be very difficult to find a similarly specced and maintained UK Zed for sale; certainly at this price.

  5. Excellent post for owners :thumbs:

Any lessons learned in terms of servicing plan adopted etc?

The service plan was worthwhile (interest free and covered expensive platinum spark plugs and labour for replacement).

  6. How come you got through 4 clutches?

Excellent post, by the way.

My personal belief is that there was something wrong with the setup on clutches 1 and 2 (used mainly for motorway driving only; absolutely no track use). The clutch pedal had an abnormal feeling (as it did with the Nismo, but that was to be expected). I complained, but to no avail. Clutch 4 feels completely normal, and has been used on a driver training day and the Nordschleife; it's still going strong.

  7. An interesting read but unless I have missed something you seem to have got through more clutches than tyres  That aside your last line sums up what the ZED is all about - sod the cost, eh

I haven't found the costs of most of my tyres, a set of brake discs, and a few other things yet (see grand total).

  9.

Am I right in thinking the fly wheel and passenger electrics are the expensive bits in that list?? 4 clutches seems a bit much.

Not bad at all given the mileage though. Why a new door card though??

Yes; but the clutches are quite expensive too. TBH the last clutch I have had (when the flywheel was replaced at the same time) is the only one which has ever felt normal (it is a standard Nissan clutch and standard flywheel; has lasted 28,000 miles so far), and has lasted a long time, so I can't help wondering if something was wrong with the setup. FYI the last clutch I have had has been used at the Nurburgring (*4), Silverstone and Millbrook; none of the others had; they mostly had motorway miles!

The door card (£500) got replaced as I broke some clips on it trying to mend the window motor!

    Hello Sharpe.

  10. Yes:

Clutch plate and cover: 4 (1st 2 went incredibly quickly, current standard one is on 28k)

    Flywheel: 1

    Brake pads: standard fronts replaced around every 18k, rears around every 36k;

moved over to Ferodo DS2500, front lasted 27k; rears still going (on 28 at the moment, with plenty of life left)

Brake discs: 1 full set at c.60k

    Driver's seatbelt *1

Passenger window motor, regulator and door card *1

I think that's about right; i'll go through all the receipts at c. 100k
