  1. Once you've heard how good a car can sound (whatever your music taste) it'll give a warm feeling inside mate!!
  2. This is more my thing, Focal, Genesis, Audio Control. Have you ever competed Andy?? I've been doing IASCA for a while and the Z is my new toy. Out of the old car is one big pile of JL Audio, Alpine and Phoenix Gold electrickery. New line up will be Focal, Alpine with a sea of alcantara......!
  3. Ha ha, mine had the same, but came in prime Blue!! The looks I got at work were shock, followed by laughter then a smile as they realised it wasn't my latest mad idea...... But jees, what are they thinking?? Even more disappointing to see the Z computer in the thing!! It's the whole 'Ferrari with Fiat Punto side repeaters' thing.....
  4. Black coupe **53 BKF (?) M4 Reading bound at about 7.45 this morning. GM Coupe Rays 55 plate on Oxford Road, Uxbridge today about 8.05 am. Oh, and the Yellow GT4 at the Handy Cross roundabout on the M40 this evening about 7pm....
  5. Completely agree mate. But since I'm going on holiday it can have the hole as far as I'm concerned. I'm more pi$$ed with them giving me Note....!
  6. No, she's too scared to get in now...! The dealer has taken a look at the window and re-seated it and it's still noisy. It's even starting to do it at lower speeds. I think it may be a high pitched alternator whine at certain engine speeds. On the bright side, the steering wheel is now pointing in the same direction as the wheels and the dash lights dim when the headlights are on. But I now have a big double din hole in the dash. Apparently Clarion want the old unit back within 5 days of sending the old one or they bill Nissan 700 euros. So they've taken mine..... And the Note is one horrendous vehicle.......
  7. Cheers guys, will try it. Only worry is that it's definitely throttle related. As soon as I rest my foot on the pedal, it does it. I can take my foot off at the same speed and it stops. Even does it with the cruise control on!
  8. Window fully shut and standard air filter - I wouldn't mind the latter!! As for the noise, it's definitely throttle related as it goes when I lift off and comes back at the slightest touch. As for the traction control, anyone know of a disused airfield in the Thames Valley for some testing???
  9. Car park of Blue River Cafe in Maidenhead just off the A4. GM, Charcoal, Rays on an 05 plate.
  10. Hi, Couple of (hopefully) quick ones...... At about 80 (on the speedo! ) with my foot on the throttle at all, there seems to be almost a whistling noise coming from the passenger side, near the dash maybe or engine bay. Anyone recognise this?? Also, does the traction control generally kick in much earlier than the physical grip limits normally? I haven't driven much without it on, but I'm cornering at speeds I know my old Volvo and Focus wwould be fine at and the light is flashing away merrily. Is this normal? Cheers.
  11. Thanks for the advice, have been reading that guide and reckon it's easy enough. Guess I need to read up on the red stuff / green stuff / yellow stuff discussions now..... Just realised two other points from the service....... Steering wheel put on at the wrong angle is worse than I thought And the instrument dials don't dim when I turn the lights on at the moment. Back again!
  12. Right, all the work was done yesterday, and I'd say I'm 90% happy with the experience. Firstly, they arranged for an almost like for like courtesy car in the shape of a Micra S. If Lego ever had any input to building a car, this is it. They replaced the wheel alignment sensor which required pulling the dash apart and steering wheel off to fit, and they seem to have put it back together pretty well, no squeaks or rattles. However, they seem to have put the steering wheel on at a bit of an angle which is a little annoying. They did hoover it all out and cleaned it, even blacked the tyres. But they'd reset all the electronics and computer settings etc. They couldn't do the wheel alignment but sent me down the road to a tricky little independent place that have a 4 wheel alignment machine. Best of all, it has a database in this thing that has all the different manufacturer geomoetries etc. stored so they know exactly where to go (might be standard but I was impressed!). They took great care and gave me a nice before and after print out. The difference in ride is quite a lot more than I was expecting. It feels a lot more solid on the road and slightly less road noise. I'd recommend it! Last point, £178 for rear brake pads....... Help!!!
  13. Blade 06 plate **06 ZLZ (Rays) getting onto the A329 in Wokingham at about 7.40. Blade import going down from M40 on A404 between Wycombe and Marlow about 8.05 this morning....
  14. Sounds perfect. Any number plates / owners I should look out for on Weds? Many off here going?
  15. I'll steer clear, here's hoping they stay useful! Does the traction control have a habit of grabbing a front wheel and seemingly unnecessary times?? Couple of times I've been going into a corner and it's done it (not sure if it's because of this problem of something it does?) and it seems like a pretty low traction point for the car to be understeering!
  16. Am seriously tempted but having only had mine a week would like to hear one before committing...... Any meets coming up in the south soon?! The Tuesday Jap meet at Reading is football night!
  17. Well I've just got it back and it's a bit of a shocker - they've even hoovered it out for me. All very pleasant and helpful. They even graced my key with a classy Dan Perkins keyring. Just got to wait for Nissan to approve the warranty work and it can be booked in to be fixed.......
  18. Considering it's a Datsun, the price of the part to fix my problem could buy a mid 90's dream machine..... Apparently my wheel alignment sensor is sick causing the system to switch off. A cool £571 for replacement (warranty luckily) and will need to go back in to be fitted. As for the tyres, it's probably down to an impact with a kerb at some point knocking the alignment out. Off to find tyres now, and collect it from the dealer. Have to say they've been pretty helpful and quite a good service so far.....
  19. OK, I take it that's a good thing then?! Is it true the Nissan dealers have stopped doing them?
  20. I'm generally more like at the moment!! Having a lot of fun, and didn't realise how much attention these things get either! It's more protecting the investment.
  21. Cheers, won't bother with the eBay effort then, may as well get it from Nissan. Just realised I put this in the wrong section, can it be moved to wanted pls? Not sure either seller is btw!
  22. Hi Guys, I've seen examples of both on eBay but not sure how genuine they are, or how much they cost from Nissan. Anyone help? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Nissan-35 ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-350-Z ... dZViewItem
  23. That's good news, thanks. As long as it's a simple fix then I'm happy. Just cleaned it for the first time and didn't find any nasty surprises anywhere. Things are looking up!!!
  24. Agree Autoglym can be a pain to use. Although the best product they do is Ultra Gloss Protection (semi permanent). My previous car (trophy winner) took a 3 day hammering with the stuff all over and a simple wipe over with a chamois would return it to and amazing shine again. Also helped protect the front end from those stones..... Although after reading this I may try some of the others. One thing for sure, there's no short cuts, it needs elbow grease no matter what you use!
  25. I went easy. Surprising how much grip was there without the help of any electronics. Anyway, the brake fluid is full to the top (slightly over full) so not sure if that's causing the problem. Now I've had time away from work to read the manual, it says both lights coming on is the fail safe mode and Nissan should look at it. Here's hoping it's nothing that keeps her off the road too long.
