A reminder that The Z Club runs a Drag Race Challenge for members and guests and would love to see more 350Z times on the Pod quarter. We normally have six rounds per year and also visit for both JapShow weekends. Points, prizes and the best real world dyno in the UK...
For Z Hall of Fame for drag times posted by all Z and ZX models in the UK, visit http://www.zclub.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=2231&d=1156786768
This is our Excel file which will eventually expand to a top 100 (currently capped at 14.9). Supplement pages are for the Drag classes used for our Challenge - 350Z sparsely populated Class 6.

Passed my MOT this morning BTW - no emissions problems with high-flow CATs and headers, no requirement for working headlamp washers...
-
Stew - I can't comment, but I can tell you that you live in the same area as my customer!!

Now that we are in the month when the first UK cars are heading for MOT time, take heed of the experience of a Scottish customer of mine -
Having taken his car to the local main dealer, he got a call to tell him it had failed on pad wear and disc rotor thickness. They quoted in excess of £1000 to carry out the necessary work. Slightly bemused, he took the car away and sought second opinions. The pads were found to have plenty of life, the discs, although slightly ridged, were well within specification and an MOT was obtained elsewhere without trauma.
To add insult, he discovered that the retail price of the discs had been bumped up by almost £100 a corner on the quote from the main dealer and that on his service they had charged him £36 for the general purpose mineral oil supplied across the Nissan parts counter for about £12!
It is my opinion that Nissan will be looking to generate some return on their sales from MOT work, so make sure what you are being told is really necessary.
My own MOT is tomorrow morning - NOT with Nissan, suffice to say...

They are unbranded, but look identical to the set I have used on my own car which fit and have caused no problems...

Set of stainless header manifolds for 350Z with all gaskets and bolts. Arrived in error for one of my 300ZX trader colleagues - cost over £350 inc. taxes and carriage, he wants just £250 + £15 carriage returned to get them out of the way as he does not deal with any 350Z products.
Call 01277 374201 to arrange shipment...

I can assure that my little percentage remains unchanged...

Nissan have increased their price on new supplies - out of my hands. I got a reasonable deal on the current batch, so increase is small. Retail is now £102.13 + VAT (i.e. £120.00), although we are enquiring into possible confusion on pricing by Nissan themselves. If anything gets resolved, the price will drop again, but no point in my selling at a loss!

Mr.F. at JPM
That would be "MJP" of course...

There is no serviceable fuel filter on the 350Z - it is integral with the fuel pump which is in the tank.

Small price increase on new Nissan stocks of BT adapter. I'm afraid our forum price will now be £104.50 inclusive for members quoting the discount code.
If you use www.mjpshop.co.uk, please ensure you note the code in the comments box on the order form!

I have access to parts from an import breaker plus awaiting confirmation on another (probably UK) car.

The Z Club still has space in its booked area for a few more cars if anyone would like to join us. JapShow is a huge Show and Go event with all that's best from the Japanese car scene. Track access all day (three tickets for £15 or £20 for unlimited runs + your driving licence to be shown), Pro Shoot-out, trade stands, magazine stands etc.
Call 01277 374201 for a Privileged Parking Pass which will get you into the Z Club section of the Club area. Also gets you past the queuing public if you arrive early enough! Not a free ticket, however - you still have to pay for entry at £15 per person at the gate

Bluetooth adapters are back in stock!!
Fulfilling existing orders today - there will be some spares...
-
He did have some on back order.
Now doubled up on back orders (first batch all pre-ordered), but still no word from Nissan when they will release these back to the dealers again. I ask every day and they are truely sick of me!
If you want some from the first release, then pre-order now!

Picked up the leaflet on Shell V-Power today while topping up - it states that it is a 99 octane formulation. Claims "more power, improved acceleration and enhanced responsiveness".
Subjectively, I thought the car felt good on V-Power, but maybe it's been too long since I last had a decent drive in it!

Reference my post in another Bluetooth section, all supplies of Bluetooth adapters to dealers (and therefore secondary suppliers) have been frozen by Nissan to allow them to service the retro-fit to '06 models. they have stock, but won't sell them for fear of tirades from hordes of '06 owners not getting their units. May take a while, as most dealers don't even know that Bluetooth adapters exist, let alone that they should be contacting '06 owners to come back for their unit to be fitted!
I have a substantial back-order, but virtually all are now pre-booked. Call if you want me to top up the back order quantity. No date on when the freeze will thaw...

My phone (Nokia 6230i) only wants to connect to one thing at a time, e.g. if internet connected, I can't hook up my Bluetooth headset (for another vehicle, not the 350) without disconnecting from the internet first and vice versa...
Perhaps more recent phones have multiple connect facility?
-
Latest information re. Bluetooth adapters - Nissan have frozen supplies to parts departments in order to ensure that they can satisfy supply to '06 buyers expecting their retro-fit...
This makes next date of supply to me uncertain, but I'm expecting next week (maybe)
-
I fully understand the problem with supply
There is no problem with supply! I order, I receive, I sell, I reorder...don't put up with the sales idiots who obviously haven't even asked the parts guys to get them. At this rate the supplies will have run dry before any '06 owners receive the adapter - they'll all be in '03 - '05 cars!

On Z32 TT models running in excess of 1 bar boost they usually upgrade to a 555cc injector. Extreme engines will use up to 740cc injectors which definitely require engineering work on the manifold to fit. Engine capacity is, of course, 500 cc down on the VQ35...

A local salvage yard has this '05 Roadster, claimed damaged repairable now cleared for sale - UK car with OSF impact, scraped down both sides full length, seat air bags popped.
I think they want too much for it at £11,500, but if anyone is interested, contact me on 01277 374201. I have more pics and will put you in touch...
