  1. My zed is finally back on the road and running as it should do, just thought I'd share my dyno Specs Vortech Supercharger Unichip Walbro fuel pump APS Plenum APS Oil pan NGK One step colder plugs RC550cc injectors FCD Stainless Steel braided fuel lines.
  2. I like them if your under the bonnet a lot they do help, just quite a bit of work to make them fit, there's how to post I did somewhere
  3. Mine is due to be done under warranty, it's on the nissan system so you shouldn't have a problem. I've got a pretty big wing and they never even questioned it
  4. Car still not running so haven't had a chance to put the meters on, when it's sorted I will post up. and just to confirm Some cars do react differently when earthing kits are fitted IMO it's down to the way the ECU is earthed...... .......the main reason why we need a grounding kit is pure and simple cost saving by Nissan and this has been proved. also THE KITS DO NOT INCREASE BHP, I HAVE DYNOS TO PROVE IT Personnally I never noticed an improvement in idle and yes I scepytical when I first fitted one, what I did notice more than anything else was trying to pull away from islands in second gear, it just wouldn't happen the kit sorted that and have never looked back. MPG who knows, I never get over 18 anyway cheers Andy
  5. Rev limit raised?? not that I know of, hope not! Injectors still not in, once they're done I'm going for a retune then I'll post figures again. But your right setups are a little different so can't compare totally, oh one other thing I had a split exhaust well the flexi pipe so that may be some of the difference, oh well we'll see.
  6. Wasn't this happening with Popchargers in the states a few years ago?? can't remember if it was the same problem, something to do with driving at speed dropping clutch and then engine stalling ?? Val, anyone ??
  7. At certain rpm yes the single pipes seem to have a straighter line no drop off in torque, i've tried to find a dyno done at the same time to compare mid range but can't find it. Piggy Back no, this was only fitted when I had the sc done The biggest improvement I saw over on the day seemed to be AFR, but that would have been the plenum and that was back to back comparision with another TD but no plenum.
  8. Sorry mate I only have what you see I've misplaced my folder containing my car data and if yours is OVERestimated what do you make of this one and perhaps this is a little more realistic ??
  9. back to the old debate n/a mods don't help this car, this dyno run was done with true dual exhaust, cats, plenum and modified air intake This was one of the better runs BTW and the torque is effected by a TD so if your not going FI in the future stick with a y'pipe.
  10. Depends what you want out of the car, you will be no where near the limits on an open road, you need to take it on a track you will be amazed how far you can push it, the only problem I had and the reason for changing my suspension was the on a track you can feel the weight especially when going into chicanes sharp lefts into rights or vice versa, coilovers do make a huge difference to the car though it'll be a million miles away from stock, sharper turnin and more positive steering
  11. Don't know but they could be on about Wheel hp rather than flywheel hp my zed n/a reached 266HP at the fly and if IIRC it's about 17% loss for transmission etc which differs from car to car so wheel hp would be about 220 see dyno below Think ive remembered correctly I'm sure someone will correct me if not.
  12. Christ that'll be a first for me with this car, parcel went yesterday BTW
  13. Do you know if they'll do this as proactive maintainance?? LOL Got no sign of this with 17000 miles on clock and only 2months of warranty left
  14. Hi mate If it's just the tyres you could put two in the front and two in the rear but they would rub on your dash Think it's been done but I wouldn't risk it
  15. I wouldn't worry mate I have 7 vehicles all with private plates with borders, logos and text underneath, some are spaced a little different to others and I've not had any problems............ recently Famous last words
  16. Taken from a V750/4 which just happens to be on my desk 'OFFENDERS are liable to a maximum fine of £1000 if convicted. Also, department can take away the rights to your registration mark and you will not be entitled to any reimbursement of the monies or any other costs incurred in the purchase of the registration mark' So as posted ealier it's all down to how friendly the copper is who pulled you. I was stopped in merc 190 about 8years ago my number was A 13AOY but the way I'd spaced it it read A BADY and you couldn't tell it was supposed to be A13 AOY, all I was asked to do was change it back, no ticket no nothing but he did say if he saw it again he would impound the car, good job i was some 400 miles from home left it like that for about another 6months and never had any more bother.
  17. and if private plates you can have your rights taken away, as you don't actually own them
  18. The wife makes a big difference as with most things in life, bank balance, wardrobe space etc, etc, etc,
  19. Yes I'll drop you a pm
  20. Grounding kits that's easy, difference yes, installation if you can wire a plug no problems, basically they smooth idling and acceleration especially when pulling away from islands, a small section of a quote from a post recently which sums up why the earthing is so poor on the zeds. BTW it doesn’t effect some cars Moding the car is a difficult one, this is my story, first I went for the new exhaust the improvement in power using the arse dyno lasted for about two weeks, but it did breath freer, Running it on a track at the top of the rev range you could tell the car was starved of air so we tried a simple modification to the seal around the bonnet and again it ran a lot better, So I bought a Injen CAI this made absolutely no difference other than noise, I then whilst driving through a deep puddle used the intake as a snorkel and filled the engine with water (hydrolock) so binned it, Next went for a kinetix plenum and CATS this seemed to improve mid range power but the noise was horrible so binned that and went for APS Having dyno'd the zed with very little mods and then with plenum, cats and exhaust you can see the HP curve smooth off and AFR stabilise but power wise nothing radical. Steve-b was probably the first to prove this but he also had pullies. Being a member of the 350 community now for 2+ years I've learnt that the ecu on our car has sometype of fuzzy logic which compensates the system to give a stock feel, whether this is true or just an old wives tales can't comment but for me it seems to be about right. What I suggest is plan your mods in advance and only choose mods for a certain goal, that way you won't waste cash whilst perusing that golden goose. I've now gone supercharged but that still comes with it's price, when I ditched the kinetix plenum the air capacity of the APS is a lot greater and the injectors can't cope so to get rid of the noise problem I've also had to fit 550CC injectors, now my fuel pipes can't cope with the improved fuel pump so they've now got to be changed I'm trying to be proactive at the moment and guess whats next but where do you stop. BTW my cars running about 380hp @ flywheel and I’d hate to total up how much it’s cost me per additional hp.
  21. If one day you are going FI then it's not a bad setup but if not you'll probably be wasting money on a lot of noise the car will feel better for it though And if your going TT make sure you fit a true dual to start

As with all mods you take your chances, Nissans stance has always been if the failure can be attributed to the modification then warranty is void, but this is down to interpretation by your individual dealer and then by Nissan, so at the end of the day it depends on how friendly your dealer is.

Think it's to do with something other than the pullies IMO just someone clutching at straws to avoid warranty claims.

IIRC along with a plenum change they do improve mid range, and smooth off the top end of the rev range. Knowing this car though the ecu probably re calibrates the fuel tank to read empty when half full to compensate for the change in weight

Take with a pinch of salt also I think as with all mods you'd need to sort the ecu to stop it correcting the error of your ways they do look very nice though
