Hey, Been living over here for about 6 months now loving it so far apart from the Japanese office!! Food is really reasonable, you wont have a problem finding somewhere to eat at all.. Most menus have pictures so you can get away with smiling and pointing at things - ask for 'nama biru' if you want draught beer Food wise, Okonomiyaki kinda like a omelet with noodles, seafood and other goodies and Yaki Niku - Korean barbecue are my favourites here! Train tickets, you need to buy upfront. You could get yourself one of these; http://www.japanrail.com/JR_japanrailpass.html Failing that if you are in Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures then I would recommend getting a Pasmo or Suica card, its pretty much an Oyster pre-pay kind of thing. It costs the same but its less hassle than going to a ticket machine all the time which you will probably do a lot in Tokyo. Onsen - hot spring - well worth a visit, Shizuoka and Gunma have plenty and are fairly close to Tokyo. I found one through this site and it was amazing... http://www.secret-japan.com/onsen/ The one we ended up going too, http://www.amagisou.jp/ The lack of English can get a little frustrating on a day-to-day living basis, simple things like the post office and the supermarket is an adventure, but when I was on holidays here it wasn't such an issue at all... If you can, I would try to visit Ishigaki Island, its in the Okinawa prefecture. There are tons of little islands around there with some really nice things to see. Much more relaxing than Tokyo! im hoping a couple of years.. job permitting.. been offered a couple of strange positions.. one on a mango farm in Okinawa and one in a fishmonger in some fishing village posing as David Beckham... ideally ill get something making websites.. we'll see what the crack is when i get there!! scary but exciting!

Hi All, Been a member for a while now, not so active due to other commitments... But enjoy reading the banter during downtime at work... Bit of a decision has to be made about the Z.. Basically leaving the UK for Japan and not sure what to do with it.. Dont want to sell it really cos I love driving about in it.. but being so far away it doesnt make much sence keeping it.. Any advice surrounding this? How long should I leave it you reckon? Really torn between selling it and keeping it... My sis is on the insurance to keep it running, she over the moon!!! If she crashes it I will not be happy!!! Also if anyone has any IT related contacts over there they would be very appreciated!!! Cheers, Ben

Hi Peeps.. Long time! I Keep on gettin a flashing airbag light.. I have had it fixed 3 times so far but it keeps on coming back.. I know that once it was due to a cable under the seat.. Are there any other reasons that this could be happening? Thanks in advance.. Ben

Fitted mine this morning after the bodyshop collection.. Very happy with them!! The front was missing anyways so no worries getting that off... Got rid of the excess crap with a bit of rubbing compound, seemed to work ok.. The back was a bit of a mission but alot of hot water and a bit of patience (plastic fridge scrapper thing too ) it came off in the end.. Was a little worried about the lack of spokes on one of the badges when I saw the rear one.. Glad to see I didnt get the wrong ones!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles Sarnie.. Not good mate, at all.. Mines been scratched up fairly recently as well.. Some guy did the front bumper, probably a push bike maybe another vehicle, also some self inflicted damage - just off to the body shop now to get a new rear drivers side panel fitted.. In a strange twist of fate, I may be getting my stolen badges back. They caught the kids that were stealing them from the area in the act. The kids had 5 badges on them plus screwdrivers... On searching their houses they found 200 badges - mainly Merc ones.. Curious to see how many Nissan ones they nicked!! A call to the transport coppers later to see if I can recover mine.. Looks like I may have spares now! Wish me luck!!

About a month or so ago some lil @*?! nicked the badge off the front of the Z.. I've gotten fed up of lookin at a crappy hole in the front and have decided to go buy some Z emblem badges.. Next problem.. Which ones?! I have a blade and Im quite tempted by the satin finish ones but it might blend in too much (at least it wont get seen by potential badge teefs so easily).. Also the black pearl looks really nice too.. Anyone got any piccies of these in situ on a blade? Courtsey sells a pair for $88.. They any cheaper in the UK? Thanks in advance! Ben

Well last night I arrived at the station carpark very tired from working like hell.. Managed to scratch and dent the rear wheel arch in a multi story! Gutted.. Kicking my self so hard for this one..!!! On arriving home to inspect the damage further realised that some lil sh*t nicked the badge off the front bumper.. On top of the scratches I recieved late last month on the front bumper (no fault of mine) I've decided to get a quote from chips away.. I know a few people on here have used them.. Are they pretty reasonable? Quality of the paint match etc? The Zs looking a little shabby right now!! Not liking it! Now to find replacement badges.. Tempted by those Z ones!!

Happened last week to me.. Front bumber some fairly deep 3 inch gouges along just infront of the wheel.. Funnily enough had a flyer for a company that fixes this kind of thing stuck under my windscreen wiper when I returned to the car..

Just thinking as Im working in London that Ill be able to commute a little better on a bike than a car, trains and tubes really hack me off..! Also Ill get my speed fix in the week rather than only weekends.. We'll see after the CBT.. Probably myself sh*tless! Saying that yea it is more dangerous.. Most of my mates that have sportsbikes get into accidents fairly regularly..

Guys, Thinking of making the transition from 4 to 2 wheels.. Anyone out there with any experience of this? As far as I know, I'll have to take the CBT, then theory and some other tests on top. Thanks in advance for any advice, oh.. I'll be keeping the Z too hopefully!! Cheers, Ben
