As stated in the announcement earlier - we have had a malicious attack which has rendered some features inoperative or not working 100%

We are working to fix it

Not what/who it claimed to be.

No more discussion on it please as it's just feeding the troll and it's taking time to get shot completely if this particular troll.

The forum has never ran https in its history. FF and other browser's have recently updated and started to warn people when they enter passwords in any site that isn't https.

It is planned as part of the coming (eventual) upgrade to migrate to secure protocols.

As said in recent announcement - forum has limited functionality at current time due to a malicious attack.

Apologies for this morning's downtime.

As you can see we are back up, but we have a number of features still down.

They'll hopefully be all 100% later today but we want to make sure it's all sorted before activating everything.

The name of the hotel for the evening meal has been confirmed as changed to The Citrus Hotel COventry.

It hasn't gone unnoticed by the team that the forum has become a less happy place than has generally been the case in our 10 year history.

AOL mail has always had problems when it comes to trying to register on sites though. It's neither recent nor specific to this forum.

Yup. And we have specifically asked aol to rectify the issue with us in particular and they won't.

It failed as I never received the activation email that finalises your account and allows you to post. I was a lurker for about 3 months and I continually emailed the admins from the same account with no responses.

 

As soon as I used a non hotmail account, it worked. If you PM me I'll shoot you the email address I used so you can see it hung up in the system.

Last year we had issues with hotmail that took a wee while to rectify. That was all sorted.

Only email address that we have issues with is AOL and they refuse to rectify the problem at their end.
