There is a lot to be said for having relatively under powered cars but which handle well so you can push them to their limits without straying all too easily into license loss territory.  Those with big bhp numbers under the bonnet might go down well in the bragging rights, but on the road offer little involvement for drivers unless used on track.

Agree with this and I really enjoy driving my Mini Cooper S in that regard. I can drive it pretty much flat out(it only has 189bhp!) and not worry too much about handing my licence in. Plus it feels relatively small and light, and I really like that about it too.

  2. I've had a X5 4.8iS/E92 M3/TVR Cerbera 4.5 which were all more powerful than my 370Z, but what attracted me to it was how much I loved my old S14a 200SX(modded to around 250bhp).

I didn't buy my 370Z for its performance, because compared to many turbo engined cars nowadays the 370Z is actually quite slow in comparison. I just seem to have a real soft spot for a Nissan performance car, and I just really enjoy owning and driving them for sure. B)

  3. I have a stillen gen 3 intake on mine and I do like the way it looks in the engine bay. I thought that it would increase the induction noise, but I can't hear any because my exhaust is so loud and it drowns it out!

Does anyone with a quieter exhaust than mine know if the stillen set up does improve the induction noise over standard please?

  4. I remember looking around a Golf R at a car show once, and I found it really hard to understand all the fuss about them because it looked so bland. I agree with what others have said though, and I presume that the Golfs biggest asset is the fact that it blends in and it is forgettable.

Mercedes probably with their 9 Speed Auto I reckon

I hope not  because I like manual gearboxes too much! B)

I hope this new Z gets offered with a manual gearbox for sure. :cloud9:

The new Supra also makes me sad because it is auto only! :bang:

Can you tell yet that I'm a big fan of three pedals and a stick!

Trax is a massive event on its own without adding japfest to it. So as above deffer to next year would be the best route to take, i think would be best.

I've not been to Japfest since around the early 2000's when I had my 200SX so I'm really looking forward to seeing more Jap cars. Agree that Trax is a massive event though and I've enjoyed it over the last few years.

Now I've got my 370Z I'm looking forward to enjoying the Jap scene again for sure. I will be looking at going to Japfest again on its own now, because I used to really enjoy going years ago.
