I think that the early 370z will obviously look dated to this new car but what will be interesting imo is to see how it looks compared to a Nismo Mk2

I think that the Nismo MK2 still looks lovely and purposeful even now for sure. B) I'd love one.

I'm just not quite so keen on the muted standard exhaust and the fake noise in the cabin though. Those parts of it really don't match up to the looks for me. Obviously it is a fairly easy fix though.

Why am I thinking interior could be make or break as well as design of the lights and back of the car

I've been out in my 370Z today(the first time in 4 weeks) and I will admit that I did think how low rent the interior felt(nothing terribly wrong with it build wise but it just looks quite cheap in places). So as you say it would be great if Nissan have made improvements in that regard.

Don't get me wrong I love my 370Z to bits though and it always puts a smile on my face, but the interior isn't exactly plush feeling(its probably not mean't to be though to be fair).

I'm getting excited about this new one for sure. :D

Well consider me told, I never knew they were so divisive!

I think that generally the shape/design of the 350Z really hit the spot. Whereas the 370Z wasn't anywhere near as well received shape/design wise. Also I don't think that the fact that the Nissan Juke has very similar front/rear lights as the 370Z helps its cause either!

the flat back is meant to be a take on the 300ZX and 240Z....lots of people didnt like the boomerang signature Nissan lights on the 370

I love my 370Z don't get me wrong, but I have to admit that I still find the boomerang lights pretty marmite for sure. So if I'm honest I can understand why Nissan do feel the need for a change in direction(or a nod to the past).

There have been some Silvia renderings floating around. A 2 liter 2 + 2 liter 300 hp would be good using A35 Engine maybe or the older q60 300hp engine if it still exists.

Yes and I'd really love it if they brought it back for sure.

And yet weight isn't the defining characteristics for a GT car as 4 out the 10 'sports cars' in the below link weigh about the same or more than a Z....... Also power isn't a defining characteristics, as the below link shows cars with a very board power range to which the Z would feature in the middle.

    Agree.

It is just a personal preference thing for me that's all. I think if Nissan made a 200SX successor(I loved my S14a 200SX),  I'd prefer that because it would be lighter and smaller than my 370Z.

For example I much prefer driving my Mini Cooper S down nice twisty country roads in comparison to my 370Z, because the Mini is so much smaller and lighter. The 370Z rewards in other ways though for sure(a better noise/more gutsy engine/rwd etc).

sounds like it'll just be a 370z with chassis tweaks, different engine and a different shell

At least it will be a slightly bigger change than the 350Z to the 370Z was though, because the engine will at least be different. Instead of it only being a different shell and chassis tweaks like the 370Z was over the 350Z, but still sticking with the same engine.

I'm still really looking forward to it, and I'm grateful that we are actually even getting another Z car in the current climate for sure. At least the Z legacy will continue. B)

If you could map it to near 400 bhp at 1250 kg why buy a Z lol

You make a good point there.

I do love the Z, but it does carry quite a bit of weight to be fair.
