That's good news then! :yahoo:One more question, my Z doesn't have the reverse camera installed OEM, would it be possible to plug one into this?

No. You can't plug an aftermarket camera directly into the unit. The default camera integration is via the main loom/power harness so relies on the camera being setup on the Nissan system first etc.

So you'd have to install the camera to the stock system first and the android unit would pick it up as part of the integration.

  2. Right then. Got the splitter back from the body shop. Straight off, the colours not a perfect match :(. I won't know how "off" it is until I fit it. Just waiting for some decent weather to have a proper look at it against the car.

Any suggestions/advice on putting this on? I'm considering 3m tape and screws underneath. So it's easier to clean up if/when I decide to take it back off etc. Or do I go all in with tigerseal or sikaflex? :bounce:

  3. Quick update on this. The splitter is with the body shop! I've gone with white with gloss black on the face of the middle bit. Hopefully get it back at the weekend. Will get it fitted and upload some pics!

Surely you can find images of it colour coded online?

Other than the pics above, I couldn't find any pics of this splitter online!

I guess another option is to find someone with some Photoshop skills!

Why don't you plasti dip paint it first in white and if you don't like it just peel it off and plasti dip it black. Plasti dip is great for experimenting. Once you are happy then PAINT it.

Now that's an idea. Thanks Payco! The splitter is already matte black plastic, so should get a good idea how it'll look once I mock fit it. But the white plastidip is genius!

  6. That's exactly my concern. Black will make the car look higher in side profile due to how big the sides of the lip are.  My zeds got stock side skirts, no side steps or anything. I want it to look low upfront and high at the back basically.

I'm leaning towards painting it body colour to begin with, that way I could always wrap it if I don't like it!

  7. Installed the unit in a 2010 40th Anniversary zed the other day. It had the premium connect, but no reversing camera.  All working well, but had to disable the rear camera view in the unit's settings to prevent it from showing the parking lines on a black screen when the car was put in reverse!

Also apple carplay confirmed as working via an apple dongle B)

  8. Pretty unanimous then! I just thought the black would eat up too much of the front wing (side profile). But I guess that's the point! I'll gloss black the wing mirrors too I reckon to tie it all together.

    Cheers guys!

  9. Hi guys, looking for opinions from fellow zededs please. Excuse the imagery that I have grabbed off the net. But I have the same lip waiting to go on my zed, and need help deciding on the colour.

I have a pearl white GT Edition, with a couple of gloss black mods on it (wrapped fangs area, rear diffuser area, roof and rear spoiler extension/lip).

I have 2 options I think, either colour code it to match the pearl white of my zed and make it look like an extension of the front bumper or have it painted gloss black so it looks like the attached pics (albeit glossier) & have it match the rest of the black bits already on the car.

Opinions please? Black, White or bin?

    Thanks!

Interested, but have 2010 non touch screen which frustrates the heck out of me!  In lincoln area and would be willing to guinea pig it ?   Do we know a rough order of price?

Hi buddy, price is £375. But I don't think it'll work on a non touchscreen system. I'll give you a shout the next time I have a unit lying around and we can give it a try.

BIG QUESTION will it work on my 2009 non -premium system B)

I couldn't say buddy, sorry. I'm going by what the manufacturer states, and they list the premium connect only.

If someone with the older system is happy to come round mine and volunteer for a test install, I'd be happy to give it a try. That's probably the only way we'll find out.
