  1. Man I wish I lived somewhere with more interesting roads, there are some nice twisty ones near me but the road surface is utterly trashed, they never bothered to fix it since last winter bit of a shame really. Also if I remember right (someone feel free to correct me) First and second gear I believe supposedly have a bit of a delay on them from the factory so people like to put in a throttle controller to tweak the input (not 100% sure how they work im assuming it just tells the ECU to speed up the opening of the throttle body maybe) But some people swear they make a difference. Maybe someone who has done the mod would like to chime in :D

Still though glad you are enjoying the Zed, also kind of makes me feel better I was looking at an M3 at the same time as i was buying my Zed but looking into it now a lot of people seem to have issues with the M3.

Sorry bud just saw that you replied! Many years of saving up I think haha. I've got plans for my Z in the future anyway, may be considering a 1JZ in about 3-5 years or so, so quite far into the future haha. I think for now though, I'll enjoy the NA scream from the engine! How come you had to replace your clutch? General wear and tear or something else?

Slave cylinder decided it didnt want to hold fluid anymore xD I think a combination of 10 years old 70K miles and it did live by the sea for a bit, might have softened it up. Or maybe someone was a bit lead footed with the clutch. Its all fine now and to be honest I kind of like having my own new clutch makes me feel more attached to the car to be honest  :) Oh so a 1JZ rather than a 2JZ :p Going to get 1 part fans 1 part haters for that xD They are impressive engines but I think ill (unfortunately) have to sort myself a house and other adult (boring) bits before I can really have a go into the car. As much as i really want too.

  3. Ive been at a work party ( i was 23 everyone there was 18-24 probably about 60 of us) I drove in and at no point was i even vaguely tempted to drink anything not even that "Ill have one and ill be fine" mentality. Guess I just dont like the idea of throwing a ton and a half of metal around at anything but my best. I get even more pedantic about it if im driving other people. Dont mind slamming my own dumb ass into a tree but hell if im going to injure someone else. Like you all said though no idea what the attraction is or the need?

Thanks for the welcome! It has been nice, to go from a vtec engine screaming at 8600rpm to a growling V6 and a kick in the backside when you give it a boot full, been good to have a go in both, I'll be honest, I sometimes do miss the vtec crossover . It'll just take some getting used to I suppose! But, I did need RWD in my life :teeth:

Guess you could always get a couple of turbos on your Zed :p Get that kick in the back just like Vtec, just a touch pricey xD

  5. As much as I want these wheels I cant warrant not having them insured it just doesnt sit right with me. Thanks everyone for all your information and advice im sure ill be looking elsewhere to renew since not even offering to cover even simple mods seems a bit harsh. just wanted to say sorry for maybe getting your hopes up just to let you down.

  6. So a little question for those of you out there with some knowledge of the law. My insurance has said they will let me change my wheels but they wont be covered. the rest of the car will and my policy will stand but the wheels would be uninsured. Is that actually legal? Or am i just being daft? Turns out they refuse to cover anything non standard (although they sort of are technically OEM parts xD) so i guess i see if its legal to run with no insurance on them or im a bit buggered :/

  7. Also quick little question and sorry if its already up somewhere obvious but what sort of time does this all wrap up? My +1 has decided to try and double up on things to do on the 1st so trying to figure out if its possible or if they are just a bit of a numpty >.>

  8. Thanks for all the information already learnt a few new things i never knew. To be honest this is probably the first car ive ever owned that I would consider having two sets of wheels and tyres for, my dads just kind of giggling away with his 4 wheel drive.

So just to check im understanding this right, 20mm spacers for the front to help them fit and stop them looking dumb, the rears should just sit straight on without any help right?
