Hi,
I'm planning to buy a polisher but have borrowed one off of my dad which he's never used just to get a feel for how good a finish I can get before I go and spend the money.
When I powered it up last weekend, it vibrated quite violently.. so I didn't actually end up using it. Is it normal for a polisher to vibrate? I thought the pad just went round and round?
Cheers

Thanks all. PM sent.
Mine has a crack in it from previous owner so looking for something as close to mint and oem as possible.

Hi,
Not sure what the correct name is but I'm after the silver plastic cover (with 'Z' in it) that goes on the strut cover in the boot.
Must be in good condition, no cracks and ideally no scratches.
PM price please.
Thanks

No problem, but I think mine will be done in February so you'll maybe beat me to it.
January is going to be a big month for getting service items done.

Fantastic, thanks.

Hi,
I'm going to change the diff oil soon but was wondering, if I wanted to replace the bushes at a later date will I have to drain the fluid again?
Cheers

Hi,
Wondering if anyone can recommend through experience any wheel refurbishers in Essex?
Obviously I've found a few but wanted to see if any were highly regarded.
Cheers

Forgot to say , I decided not to claybar as I figured it'd have taken me another couple of hours and my arms and legs probably would have given up

Hi,
3 weeks into Z ownership and I've finally found a weekend where I have nothing to do, and importantly the weather is dry. Time to detail Zelda!
I've uploaded a ton of photos from todays efforts mainly because I'm so impressed with how well she cleaned up. I've literally never cleaned a car with this much attention to detail, and to be honest as the hours went by I got more and more obsessive. Oh..and I fitted a stubby aerial.
The detailing guide on the forum was spot on. I started with a wash using the 2 bucket method (Meguiars Gold), rinsed and then dried off.
Then, I cleaned the glass and used some rubber treatment on the various seals. I also spent a ton of time removing all of the old dry wax from the previous owners effort.. (mission).
Next up was to go round with Meguiars scratch X as there were a few unsightly scratches. I worked very carefully and probably could have done more, but as this stuff is quite abrasive I took care.
Following this I used Meguairs polish.
Arms aching by this point, and can't wait for xmas so I can get a machine polisher.
Next was an all over wax with Meguiars liquid wax.
This is why I'm getting a wheel refub! Ouch I am thinking of a colour change to something like a gunmetal or I saw on the forum somewhere that someone had 'smoked chrome' which not only sounds cool, it looked fantastic.
And.... run out of daylight so didn't drive very far - just down the river for the sunset.
I didn't clean the exhaust tips or backbox which I regret a bit. But I can do that next weekend... as it's a standard backbox will how well will it come up with using a bit of metal polish?
That's all for today folks!

Nice car and actually the wing looks good imo.
Can you remember what colour did the wheels as I'm looking to do mine in a similar shade.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Nice to see the forum is active!
I have the complete BT module in the cubby hole, and as you've said I found can't be used for audio. I'm looking for something as stock looking as possible on that front. Planning to go to the Essex meet this week so hopefully some brave soul who's done the Bose hack before can talk me though it.
The boot pop video and link is most helpful, thanks. I'll go ahead and get that sorted next Just bought them! And bought a stubby ariel earlier.

Room for one more? I should be able to make it assuming the train back from work is on my side..

Just joined the forum from near Chelmsford.

Hi all,
I'm Dom, and I took a 6 hour round trip to pick up Zelda - my first 350z. She's the newest car I've ever owned, my last was a pretty big spec 22 year old MR2 turbo.
I was looking for a decent example, and waited around for one to come up for sale in black.
Some basic stuff in the pipeline:
- Meticulous clean/detail this weekend
- Refurb wheels and colour change
- P1 service
- Smoked side indicators
- Figure out how to get my phone connected for bluetooth music (and look as standard as possible)
- Get the boot to 'pop' open fully

Think it must be a DA then. It feels pretty uncomfortable to use..
Do you think I will notice a difference in final finish if I opted for just the rotary?
Or, would a better quality DA be better?
