  1. Anyone camping Saturday or travelling from cerca Brighton/East Sussex/Tunbridge Wells area let me know can arrange something a good drive up and a few drinks etc!
  2. Thanks for the replies, guess this is what majority of people put in the Zeds. Planning on a remap soon at Abbey, so was giving the car a birthday for the best results! Nice. Fitted these myself in my zed just over two years ago so saved myself a bob or two, took me a couple of hours and the price of a torque wrench. Borrow a torque wrench from work and will be even cheaper! All good thanks for the help I'll go for the NGK's:)

  4. Need to use that search button more I think. No definite answer then but, in terms of types, I think iridiums will be best as an all rounder so once they're fitted they can just almost be forgotten about. So either of the 2 I linked would be suitable but neither better than the other? Thanks:)
  5. Haven't checked the spark plugs on the Zed since I've had it and haven't seen any previous receipts for spark plugs. Is it worth the change regardless and what would you recommend using? Found some Denso Iridium Plugs on eBay and heard Denso are a reasonable make. What's people's opinions? Seen some NGK's with good reviews but can only find from China at this price!:/ http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/281664328083?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301986729498

  8. Hi newby question! Getting the Zed on the road for the first time at the start of April and would love to get stuck in on the stand and get involved. Take it for 2 camping need 2 camping passes and also want to show the car so one of them as well?! Also is anyone coming from Tunbridge Wells/Brighton way for a cruise up there? Thanks, sorry for the silly questions in advance!
  9. Been quoted around £275 for the repair on the wheel arch, not sure if this is reasonable or not but will still ask around. I wanted the lip to remain carbon as the spoiler is the same so wanted to keep them colour coded. If the splitter was sprayed gloss black it would look out of place compared to the carbon spoiler:/
  10. I don't think it's possible to remove the lip from the bumper now. The lip is still intact, just the surface of it is cracked
  11. New to the 350Z and absolutely love it so far, check out the car in the members build section, however I have a couple of things I need to get sorted. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/113666-so-it-begins-my-new-toy-adviceopinions-appreciated/#entry1693197 From the pictures you may be able to see the front carbon lip is damaged on the passenger side and it's really annoying me as the car is close to being mint (apart from the next bit too). Would it be possible to get the lip wrapped with leaving a similar finish to the spoiler and how it was when it was new or will I need to solve it another way? Also, on a more urgent note, have a wheel arch rust problem which seems to be common on some 350Zs, has anyone had similar work done and know of an approximate of how much it would cost to sort? I have never noticed it before, so may just be surface rust. And also does anyone know how to prevent this happening again and or to other arches?! Thanks!
  12. Looking at wrapping the front lip and spraying the wheel arch next week! Anyone got any knowledge on how much this sort of thing should cost?
  13. First thing is first - service the car. New oil filter, engine oil, gearbox oil, diff oil. If he has only done low miles in it, they'll have been short journies and nothing is worse for engine oil than short journeys because no evap of moisture and accelerated degradation of oil. Coolant can be tested, but it lasts 5yrs so no major worry. Now look underneath the car. Is anything loose, are any of the bushes looking tired, is the plastic wind tray secured properly? Sort these. All those mods and no mention of tyres?! I'd get some decent spec rubber on it quicksmart. After you fit new tyres, then get a geo. You need to learn to drive the car first with a baseline geo (Factor setup) otherwise your touch on the car will be when you plough it into a wall. Then you can decide what to do. Don't listen to anyone who says 'Yeah, use my FAST ROAD geo!' Total rubbish. Even if you aren't panning on tracking it, get Yellowstuff pads. Reds won't cut it. If you are planning on tracking it, get Orangestuff. Get yourself booked on some advanced driver courses. The safety features on the Z are effective, but in a 300bhp RWD car, you should be able to handle and be comfortable with a slide. The rust is interesting. The wing way have had a repair previously. I'd budget £200 for it. Thanks for the advice, as I said the previous owner was very good at spending money and that including maintenance.I have receipts trailing way into the thousands for mods and maintenance which was good to read! Priority number 1 is to definitely sort the wing out as it's really bugging me and I know it will just get worse! I'll keep the £200 budget into consideration, however someone has quoted me £275 already:/ Tyres are reasonable but certainly not MPSS or anything high end. Furthermore I will add that the last thing I want to do is end up putting this in a hedge backwards so will be taking it easy, especially this time of year! Thanks to everyone else for the replies:D
  14. As some may know from other posts, I have recently picked up a '54 plate 350z GT with a few modifications and, so far, I'm a very happy owner! What made me want this car the most, besides the tasteful modifications, was the fact it was owned by a 58 year old man who seemed to enjoy plowing money into the car and looking after it (4000 miles in 3 years and 3 services). I am only 19 years old and I have always wanted a Jap sports car and I am glad to have achieved a goal so early on when others are driving their mums fiestas I would like to put my own touch on the car and, as many seem to do, modify many aspects of the Zed. The car has the following modifications already fitted: Cobra Resonated Cat Back Exhaust Japspeed Y Pipe Mishimoto Fan Shroud Kit Mishinoto Induction Kit (fitted by myself XMAS day ) Eibach Pro Lowering Kit Eibach Spacers (20mm & 25mm) Japspeed Front Camber Arms Eiback Rear Camber Arms EBC Turbo Drilled & Grooved Discs Redstuff Pads Carbon Fibre Nismo Spoiler Carbon Fibre Nismo Front Lip (Now dead ) The car is at 67k miles which I thought was pretty average/low mileage and I paid £6800, which i believed was a steal as I couldn't take the grin off my face the whole time I was there looking at the car
  15. Let me know how that goes as I'm looking to decat/hfc my cobra resonated exhaust, love the sound of the cobra but even the resonated one drones around 2k rpm! Plenum Spacer and Decat/HFC then UpRev for me:D
  16. I did think about getting a whole new wing, seems like the best way of solving the problem! Especially if people have had trouble with the rust spots coming back. The Zeds is 67k miles which I didn't think was bad for a 12 year old car and it has been looked after, which was the main reason why I bought it! Especially as it was off an older bloke!
  17. That sounds about the same as I paid near enough to have mine done when I had my Zed but be warned the rust can come back. Story pasted below from another thread rather than re-type it all again... Source: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/106817-rust-woes-advice-needed/ It's a very common area for the 350 Zed to get rust and can be a PITA to sort unfortunately but not impossible. Good luck. Thanks for the reply! Hopefully can get something sorted, I know a good guy who does a lot of work for Coopers BMW as he does all my dad's cars, so hopefully shouldn't have too much trouble! Any other things I should look out for in the future?
  18. A lot of people use the Berks HFC so they must be good I guess! Do you know how much louder the hfc made the system or did you do it all at the same time? And what was installation like? Thanks for the posts! I got them added later and they make a nice difference to the sound. Makes it a bit more louder, slight droney around 2k rpm, but other than that no issues. Perfect when cruising on the motorway, and opens up when you put your foot down installation was done by Ross at Japex and didn't take him too long, but easier as he had access to his ramp. Defo worth the money Well I have got access to a ramp so might be able to do it myself with a bit of help! The exhaust is a bit droney now to be honest, but the extra V6 roar will defo be worth it in my opinion. Just wanted to hear from someone to see if the hfc's are worth it! Good to see it passes MOT
  19. I don't think I'll be doing that! I've been quoted £275 for someone to get rid of the rust and respray the panel. Car isn't on the road yet so will have to wait until April!
  20. Recently picked up a '54 plate 350Z GT, previously owned by a 58 year old enthusiast wanting to be taken back to his youth (I'm sure the car worked)! The car has been very well looked after: 4000 miles in the last 3 years and 3 services in that time. The car has been mildly modified (see signature), as a 19 year old this obviously appeals to me! To get to the point, the car has a few areas which I want to get sorted cosmetically. The previous owner put a carbon lip on and within the first week cracked/scuffed it on a kerb (oh the pain!) Just wondered what people would do with this to try and fix/cover up the damage if possible? Furthermore I noticed the car had a few spots of rust bubbling up (worrying). Is this a common thing with the Zeds? What have people done before and how much have they paid to rectify it? Thanks in advance!
  21. Decided to fit my new mishimoto cold air intake today. After a bit of faffing managed to get it all together without too many swear words! Nice deep acceleration tone, all though hard to hear over the cobra exhaust!ðŸ˜
  22. A lot of people use the Berks HFC so they must be good I guess! Do you know how much louder the hfc made the system or did you do it all at the same time? And what was installation like? Thanks for the posts!
  23. Was thinking about decats, but was worried come MOT time, I have access to a ramp but unsure on how straightforward it is swapping over to stock cats every year?
  24. Sure this has been spoken about before on previous occasions... however I wanted people's up to date opinions and choices. What exhaust systems are everyone using and what sort of noise would you describe in terms of raspiness, loudness and how refined/quiet they can be? I've got a cobra resonated cat back exhaust and a Japspeed Y Pipe. However I'm looking for a bit more noise which I'd hope to get from sports cats (HFCs). Hoping for some advice and people's choices and opinions! Seen these Japspeed HFCs at what seems like a good price compared to the much loved berks etc: https://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-350z-sports-cat-downpipes.html Anyone had any experience with these? Merry Christmas fellow 350z owners!
  25. I've seen people seem to rate Fuchs Titan Race Pro S quite highly but the car is not going to be driven hard (all the time) and I think as long as oil changes are done regularly, oil that expensive wouldn't really be necessary! I might go with the Shell Helix Professional 5w-30 as nobody seems to say a bad word against it and it's well priced.
