  1. Oh mate, don't even get me started about the GTiRs over here. I was also in the market a few years ago. Went to see the first two from adverts, looked underneath...

    "erm, where's the 4wd system?"

    "this is the 2wd version"

"lol (I actually laughed out loud), bye...."

    Second one...

    "erm, where's the 4wd system?"

    "What do you mean?"

"GTiRs are all 4wd, this is a FWD"

"wtf?? Are you serious? I bought this car as genuine"

    "lol, bye..."

Basically, the story went on like that. Every single one was an engine conversion from a boggo sunny. 2nd hand car market over here has a level of dishonesty which a Brit could never even imagine, it's a way of life. 3 of the last 4 cars I bought I found out were clocked back over 50k miles. I'm sure my Z has done a lot more than shown, it's par for the course.

Unreal, but hey, at least no rust over here. :)

  2. So I thought I'd post an update, only got one new pic, this is after it was returned to stock ride height with the HSD coilovers (see attachments at bottom of post).

The Greddy skirts and the Ings lips front and rear make the wheels look even more sunken since they bring the body further out in all directions, spacers are on their way, should arrive today/tomorrow.

    Parts sourced so far:

    Fitted:

    HSD Monopro coilovers

Rays wheels and new Barum Bravuris 3HM tyres in stock sizes

Rear light clusters (stock, second hand, from an ebay breaker in Lithuania)

Not yet fitted but in hand:

Exedy oem clutch disc, brand new

Exedy oem pressure plate and bearing, brand new

eBay chromoly 17lb flywheel (130 quid, will post a review later, but since it's a chunk of solid metal I'm not anticipating any issues)

    Clutch master cylinder brand new

    Clutch slave cylinder, brand new

Stainless braided clutch line, brand new

Front control arms, both on both sides, second hand from Jon @ Emperor

Door lock actuator from Jon @ Emperor

Fuel filler cap actuator from Jon @ Emperor

Steering arm final section (somehow original was bent!) from Jon @ Emperor

UK driver's seat switch from Jon @ Emperor (now I'll be able to have tilt and slide on the passenger seat! Since mine's a left hooker, I will have two drivers seat switches, one on each side! I hope the motors and mech are present in passenger seat, lol

2 new rear wheel bearings from ebay brand new

Eibach spacers 20mm front, 25mm rear, brand new.

    Still looking for:

Primary driver's gauge cluster, preferably JDM in kilometres

A new key (will get from stealer brand new)

Exhaust (open to offers, want some noise but not teeth rattlers)

    A rear driveshaft CV boot

2006 HID headlight ballasts, igniters and other wiring

    2006 compatible black headlights

  3. The speedo in kms? It went same day?? Jeez... Could you do me a favour and ask the guy if he minds terribly letting me have it (point him to my post), I've been looking for this for so long. :(

I'll even give you 50 quid for it plus delivery I want it that bad. If not, fair dos, that's life I suppose...I thought I'd hit jackpot, so disappointed.

Point him to my build thread to read what I'm up against :)http://www.350z-uk.c...-to-rescue-a-z/ maybe he'll feel sorry for me lol.

  4. Hi guys, thanks for clicking. So, we're discussing the driver's steering column mounted gauge cluster, the main ones... some questions please...

    1) Was there any change or revision to this unit with the facelift? I assume not, but just want to check.

    2) These are totally a direct swap, right? Take the old one out, put the new one in, no need to even reset anything?

    3) Bonus question, anyone want to take a guess as to whether the JDM gauge cluster in kms have any difference compared to the euro speedos in kms? Should be the same wouldn't you think?

  5. Please can you quote me shipping to greece for the speedo? I really need it. Thanks v much. I have a very worthy project, rescuing a horribky abused Z, the muppet previous owner got dome dog sh1t white dial backings from somewhere which look very nice in the day (apart from the little stickers to show which warning lights are which, don't ask me why), but at night you quickly realise they are virtually transparent, making the dials just a mess of red and orange light; turning on an indicator lights up the interior green, it's awesome, like being at the disco. :)

  6. I'll give you your asking price for the brake lines shipped to my mate in Hull please, let me know. There's absolutely no rush to ship them at all, my brembos are also sitting in Hull anyway and will be a while before they make their way over here. I'll pay straight away and you can take your time to ship them whenever's convenient for you.

EDIT: By the way, you say brake lines are for facelift, I understood they were the same (mine's an 03), can you or anyone confirm? Cheers :)

  7. I see what you mean, but Eibach doesn't have anything to prove, they're well known to be good spacers. It's like saying a Hyundai is better than a Lamborghini because the manufacturing processes are more transparent. You simply trust that Lamborghini knows how to build a fast car right, as you trust a well known and reputable suspension company like Eibach to be doing (especially something as simple as) a spacer right. I understand what you're saying though man, honestly. If you offered free delivery to Greece I'd have happily bought yours and not given it a second thought, it's great that you offer proof of the quality of yours. :)

  8. Roz :flowers: (was looking for a not-worthy emoticon, but flowers is good :)). In my top 10 movies of all time too, but some of the others might make you cringe, so I won't labour it. :D

  9. Accepted, but I'd say that Eibachs have proven to be of the upper tier of quality for street use (they are intended to be street, not track), but yeh, I've no doubt it happens to all of em sooner or later. No worries bro :)

  10. Are you really questioning the established well known quality of Eibach bolt on spacers? I don't need to explain that statement and you know it. :p And after I boosted you up earlier as well. :boxing:

Edit: But since you asked and I'm trying to dodge putting the kids to bed by looking like I'm busy to the wife, I googled this...

  11. Yeh, these are the ones I referred to earlier. Can't help wondering if they are just cheap chinese ones anodised black to make them look more 'racy' though. I may be doing them an injustice, but at least with the Eibachs, you know exactly what you're getting. Plus I communicated with that seller (2fast2cool) and was disappointed by lack of reading comprehension and willingness to help (he wanted 50 quid for delivery, too, lol)

  12. These have dropped in price recently, as when I was researching to sell mine they were £140 a pair

    excellent prices now :teeth:

Actually, it takes some searching to find those prices on the Eibachs, elsewhere they are notably more expensive, but yeh, there are also cheaper options like Adrian's now, and I also saw some cheaper Direnza ones that looked decent.

Nice community you have here, been waiting to come across you in a thread, you also have my dream motor. There is no car I have ever wanted more, I hope you enjoy it, grats. :)

  13. Thanks for that. Did you have any issues with them?

I don't anticipate any issues with them. Everywhere that opinions are expressed say that the Eibachs are about the best there are off the shelf. I'm sure Torqen's ^ are good as well, nice prices too. Personally, as I'm in Greece, the Eibachs would still have been cheaper due to delivery costs, but Adrian has a good reputation here and stands by his stuff, from what I've observed, so looks like you're spoiled for choice for well priced quality spacers. :)

  14. My suspension guy races S2000s and drifts a Z, he said he could get me BCs, but he thinks HSD Monopros are better. I trust him, every time I'm there he has several race spec S2000s in the workshop so I went with his opinion. I put them on my Z and I'm very happy with the ride comfort as well as improvement in response. Just another option.

  15. Thanks JF - could you post an email link please so I can also have a look? Thanks

FYI Jon, these are the ones that are 'too good to be true', that I was looking at... I'm sure they're coming from the same place as the OP's so there ya have it, the answer is they aren't true! Such a shame, that price is brutal. 150 quid for the set?:stretcher:

  16. Hi, I just got new alloys which match the stud pattern on the car. However, there's a sixth bolt which is preventing the new alloys fitting on the car. Can anyone tell me what this bolt is and if I can remove it.

These guys are only joking, don't take it out, the engine will fall out the next time you take a left turn. ;)
