  1. Re: Morels. I have some Morels here, new in their box. I was going to use them in the kicks, as point source drivers. But my plans changed. Your friend with the Morels - what size is he running? Does he also use a sub? How does it sound to you?
  2. Thanks for the warm welcome. Still looking for a car. Just keeping an eye on AT and PH...
  3. Lovely kit chaps! Probably better sounding than mine will be! I like mixing in old school stuff, along with new tech. So for me I love the convenience of all my lossless tunes on my iPhone. That goes through a stand alone DAC which extracts the quality signal whilst charging my phone, then into old school items. All of which I found brand new in their boxes! Zapco half din in dash balanced pre amp, Zapco Symbilink balanced cable and receivers, plus a Rockford Fosgate 60ix amp. The "ix" were the best sounding RF amps, plus this is exactly what I owned new in 1995. I also used to run Dynaudio which is why I want those again. #nostalgia So not the ultimate or anything, but certainly very good and just looking at the kit makes me smile before I even listen.
  4. I love a roadster, such as a mk1 MX5 or S2000. But the 350Z has such a lovely curve to the roof it would be a shame to chop it off in my eyes. In the same way I could not buy a 911 cab, as you lose that iconic silhouette.
  5. Welcome. I agree the £200 per year in road tax is not that much extra. But it is still annoying in principle. Also you have to bear in mind the price for the higher category cars may well go up a lot in the future. The general climate of being anti car is not going away. I can see that top rate of tax being a grand at some point.
  6. Thanks, although I should have said I'm looking for a coupe only.
  7. I've been there. Things always turn around though. It's like rolling the dice of life. You be back to landing sixes before long.
  8. Thanks, I just read the useful buyers guide. I've been carrying out most of those precautions for years. Although the specifics relating to the Z are handy to know. Can't wait to find a car. My savings account is itching to be nuked
  9. I saw a lovely 350GT at a car show in Maldon a week ago. I really love the fact they have some semi useful rear seats, yet still look great. Shame they never bought them into the UK officially. Aside from the body, are the mechanicals identical?
  10. It's good to see these are cars people miss, then come back to.
  11. I'm more into my tunes than tuning up the engine. Around 300 ponies is enough for my daily. Not sure how long I'd keep my licence if I got too carried away! That said, I appreciate the engineering involved when done properly.
  12. There are a million solutions. One is to forget about a HU all together. I will be running lossless tunes from my iPhone, into a stand alone HRT DAC which runs off 12v. This goes into a (new old school) Zapco pre amplifier. From there onwards it is all balanced into the amps.
  13. I've been collecting a few things which I'll be installing into a 350Z, when I find one. Although I have not yet committed on the speakers. I would like to run Dynaudio again up front. This time with a three way set of comps. What size of mid bass drivers fit in the doors without cutting the metal too much? I presume 6.5" are fine, although Dynaudio tend to be closer to 7". Also if anyone has some photos of what the doors look like minus their cards, please show me
  14. I love the look of black, although I hate keeping them looking clean! If it wasn't for that issue I could have bought one already. Blue also looks good
