  1. Today the rocket bunny arches arrived! I may have ****** up a little by thinking the 18x10j rotas would cut it, seems I'll need either some huge (around 75mm) spacers or maybe look at running 12j. Also the bucket seats have finally come out of hibernation along with some nice new driftworks harnesses. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
  2. Since the chassis was given a fresh start it would only be fair to give everything else the same treatment. Plus it's always nice to see shiny things under a car Even went the extra mile and gave the hubs coat Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
  3. A good session with a flapping disk, a small repair and a coat of Underseal later and the under body looks good as new and gives peace of mind that I'm building on a solid platform Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
  4. Got started stripping the blue car back to a bare shell to check for datsun dust. Jumping from one to the other I started pulling the donor apart too
  5. So I've had many drift cars in my time along with being an instructor for learn2drift, I have always kept my very first drift car and have slowly built it to be "the one" then along came the zed! The zed was meant to be my nice daily till a drift day came up and i thought what the hell, lets weld the diff and see what shes like and WOW! the grip levels are amazing, the na engine is a dream to work with and the noise on WOT is phenomenal. A few more drift days and using it as a drift demo car at L2D and i was hooked, the lexus is up for sale and im building a zed. My shell had suffered some vandalism while parked over night leaving it with some nasty dents in the roof so a reshell as part of the build seemed to make sence since i had one in the pipeline for cheaps anyway (an ex magazine demo car so i knew the body was mint). ...and here goes... The grey donor car and the blue will be the project
  6. sounds like me, I have a straight through with cobra backbox. Grey on rota gtrd, wheels will have either been black or purple (I like to swap them around from time to time )
  7. Haha yeah, bit of a disaster story actually. Bought my first zed and the next day the bottom end went annoyingly due to a rusty oil filter that had leaked all the oil out. I bought the second one as a donor, it was a cat c but the gt model so I stole all the cool bits. After all the work making it nice the car was vandalised and all the roof was dented in so I got another zed this time with a dead engine to reshell into, during this I lost the keys to the first one and had to smash the window to get in and still trying to figure out how to open the doors since their deadlocked All in the space of 6 months -_- Plus side I'm putting the engine from the 300zx in the first shell which should be fun! 8. Oh really! I've started an album on my Facebook of the progress actually, have a look Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
  9. So a few weeks back I lost the key to my zed, after waiting a while for it to show up I decided to break the window to get in. Now I had another shell with ecu, barrel etc that I planned on reshelling into anyway so I figured id just drop my engine etc in the new shell and away I go. However I'm now using the old shell to put a VG30DETT into from a car that has really bad bodywork just as a project more than anything. Long story short I managed to get power into the car to open the window that I didn't smash (while being deathened by the alarm!) but I cant get the dead lock to disengage so I can open the doors. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them to open without doing too much damage? I've managed to get the door cards mostly off, I was thinking their may be somewhere in the fuse box or something that I can put power to with a probe to get the doors to unlock? Once open i'll just use an aftermarket alarm kit to deal with locking as all the oem wiring will be going anyway. The car in question is a 2004 model if that helps
  10. Hello, I'm callum from hartlepool. I've had a 300zx tt manual drift car and now on my 3rd 350z. Currently building the 3rd to use as a comp car for drift cup next year, I'll be running the stock engine but possibly on a rear mounted turbo running low boost while i build up my spare de. I'm still rather new to zeds and dont really know much of the background on the vq motor series so any heads up on what to lookout for and any common modifications to consider would be greatly appreciated. Before zeds i was a lexus, s and r chassis guy so V engines are all new to me!
