  2. Quite surprised there isn't a thread for this already, thought it would be a good idea to start a dyno thread for just 370z's. Just dyno related chat and info please.

Post: graphs, videos, mods, bhp/torque figures produced. Enjoy.

The HR has 306 bhp and 268 lbft stock. So assuming that dyno is accurate, those can't be flywheel figures because it would mean the modifications gained me 5 bhp and LOST 18 lbft. I've test driven several HRs with similar mileage and maintenance and mine is considerably quicker. So I'd say those are wheel figures but might be a bit optimistic.

I have no idea about the weird peaks and troughs at the top end. It certainly doesn't drive like that! I just assumed it was a glitch with the dyno system so didn't ask the tuner. What I did ask was why the tuned peak figures were only 3 bhp and 4 lbft higher than untuned. He said the gains were “subtle”. For £450 I'd say “disappointing” is a better description. Having said that, the bottom end and mid range gains are noticeable, as is the removal of the throttle response delay in the first three gears. He also corrected the slightly rich AFR. So overall I was / am happy. :)

Works out at around 357bhp at the flywheel then, I'm going to guess it's a Dynojet going by those numbers

Not sure if I am reading this wrong, says BHP on the graph which is measured at the flywheel not the wheels ! Why does the top end of the power and torque band peak and trough so much ?

  5. Will definitely be looking at a facelift now, the GT Edition never got uprated gaskets and the steering lock issue was resolved with the facelift, plus in my opinion it looks better. Just going to try and wait for a bright Red example to pop up or failing that Midnight Blue.

  6. Will shortly be looking at buying a flappy paddle auto 370 GT facelift 2013> or GT Edition 370z, I have a few questions I hope can get answered.

Did the GT Edition get uprated gallery gaskets ?

Does the GT Edition still suffer from the steering lock issue or was this resolved ?

Facelift 370z GT 2013> I've noticed no Red cars (bright Red) that are flappy paddle auto in the UK for sale or manual for that matter except brand new models, are there any in the UK that are 2013> but not obviously brand new ?

Facelift 370z GT 2013> does this still suffer from the steering lock issue ?

Any common faults or anything to look out for with either ? Anything in particular that can go wrong with the auto and are they safe with full bolt ons plus a tune but still N/A ?

Thanks for any help guys hope I can get some questions answered.

Where about sin Yorkshire are you?  You’re more than welcome to have a test drive in my auto to see what you think

I live in Hull, what about yourself ? That would be extremely helpful thank you.

Just so that you are aware and to help others, the CD009 gearbox is not fitted to the 350HR or the 370.

I was always under the impression that the 350z HR and 370z were both fitted with the same CD009 gearbox ! What gearbox do they actually have then ?

  9. I currently own a HR 350z and have been thinking of buying a 370z for a while now, never been keen on the HR's gearbox, always thought the shifts are long, clunky and heavy and both cars share the same CD009 gearbox unfortunately.

How do owners find the automatic paddle shift gearbox ? What is it like in flappy paddle mode and to live with on a daily basis, daily driving ? Seen an article in Evo magazine from a while back saying it's the one to go for as the manual gearbox is agricultural at best !

Looking at post 2012 models so I don't get stung with the gallery gasket issue again, any other known common faults with the 370z I should be aware of ?

Thanks for any help or info given.

  10. I had the exact same issue with the resonated Cobra in my coupe, the drone was horrendous and echoed/boomed around the cabin, got even worse when climbing hills etc. My end solution was going back to stock because I hated it that much !

I ended up opening my stock backbox up and removed the sound deadening then welded it back up, it sounds just right to me now, bit more V6 rumble and no drone so I'm happy.

  11. Well finally took the Z out for a proper 200 mile + blast on a mixture of roads and conditions across the North Yorkshire Moors, tyres are honestly the best thing I have bought for the car period, the difference is unreal, turned it from what felt like a heavy, lazy GT car to what now feels like a proper sports car that is poised and ready for whatever you can through at it.

Kind of re-sparked my love for the car again as I felt like I was getting a bit bored of it. Would highly recommend the MPS4's to anyone that's in the market for new tyres !

  12. Finally got the MPS4's on yesterday, noticed immediately that road noise was reduced greatly, like a huge amount, seems really quiet inside the cabin now, next thing I noticed was the lack of rolling resistance when I rolled off the throttle, feels like there is less body roll aswell, car still slid when I planted it but I've only done 5 miles on them upto now so they need scrubbing in properly.

First impressions are very good though, noticed they say reinforced on the side wall, does that make any difference at all ?

Turns out I knew one of the guys who worked at ATS so they filled all of the tyres up with Nitrogen for free which was a bonus I guess.

  13. Finally bit the bullet and purchased a full set of MPS4's, managed to get a full set for £550.94 because Blackcircles had an extra 10% off Michelin tyres, get fitted this Saturday can't wait to finally see what all the hype has been about !

  14. Well the time has almost come for new rubber, currently sits on Avon ZZ5 all round which came with the car.

So I'm in two minds what to go for as I've seen good reviews for both tyres that I have in mind so I guess it's down to a bit of advice now from you guys.

Stock Rays 245, 45, 18 rears and 225, 45, 18 fronts. The car is used daily for commuting and on the odd occasion taken for a blast on back roads.

So first choice would be MPS4, good all round tyre according to reviews from several different magazines, always top of the class and cost £608 fitted, balanced and nitrogen filled.

Second choice which I have seen awesome reviews on are the Yokohama AD08R, cost £661 fitted, balanced and nitrogen filled.

Another thing does filling with nitrogen really make any difference ?

Not sure what to go for and I'm hoping either choice will be better than the current Avon's which in my opinion are garbage, they break loose very easily on the rear. I want good grip in all conditions ideally.

    Opinions welcome, TIA.

  15. I've read so many horror stories on this so I'm after advice, my throttle bodies are really dirty and ideally need cleaning, how do I go about doing this without screwing things up ?

I have seen horror stories of people having to get them re-programmed after moving the butterflies. But I have seen videos on YouTube and people have had no issues after moving the butterflies to clean them !

    Any advice welcome.

  16. Thank you all for feedback and advice, had the Geo done today, the current settings were way off what they should be from Nissan, asked for 1.5 degrees rear camber, parallel front toe and a touch of toe on the rear the rest are factory Nissan settings now.

Definitely made a difference but I think that's because they were so far out in the first place. Car seems to turn in a lot quicker and the rear feels a bit more planted.
