  1. Had my Z for a few days and by dodging a van coming at me at stupid speeds down a very thin road I scraped an alloy . So annoyed as they were all in pristine condition, now the outer ring of one is pretty scratched up and chipped. I partly blame my satnav for taking me on a tour of the thinnest streets Woking has to offer. I'm not overly frustrated as a refurb isn't that expensive, but it's such a shame as I've been really careful and driving and parking everywhere without a single scratch, it's surprisingly easy to judge the width of the car when driving because it's such a driver focused vehicle, I fell in love as soon as I got behind the wheel. Is there anything I can do to clean the alloy up a little bit? I'd rather not get a refurb already. So happy with my Z . The minute I took it on a test drive I was in love, I've never had so much fun with a car before. Anyway, next up I was thinking of installing a touch screen, but I'm not savvy enough to do this alone. Would it be wise to buy one that I like and then take it somewhere to get it fitted? Or is there any reputable places (obviously not Halfords lol) that will do a package? Any other advice for a new Z owner? I've read the other guides, but I'm wondering if there is anything not included in them that you'd like to share . Thanks all! Couldn't be happier with my Z already .
  2. I have this one: http://cobrasport.co...-resonated.html It looks and sounds awesome . It's not too loud but has a really nice grumble and sound to it. You can definitely hear me coming still!
  3. Will do, thanks for the heads up .
  4. There isn't an issue, that's the point! I was expecting way, way more than that! That's with Elephant.
  5. The big reveal... £636.
  6. Without looking it up, guess the insurance quote I just got: - 23 years old. - Zero no claims (no accidents, it's just been that long since I've had insurance). - 2005 350Z with Cobra exhaust and rear diffuser down as mods. What do you think I was quoted? REVEAL IS ON PAGE 2 FIRST POST. < Have a guess then see if you were close.
  7. I wonder why there are any second hand Z's still for sale that have the Bose HU if they are so naff!
  8. If in the scenario that he crashed and killed someone then I would feel sorry for everyone involved. It's funny how much you need in your car to drive through France isn't it? I must admit when I was at uni someone had a breathalyzer and we all had a competition. Not sure if I'm proud to say I won or not, considering how the night ended!
  9. In terms of buying and getting it fitted, where's a good place to not get ripped off?
  10. Hi all, I'm new here so apologies if this has been posted before or is a repeat thread. A while ago my friend lost his licence for being over the limit. The morning after a night on the town the police pulled him over (he drives an old XR2i) and tested him... Boom, over the limit and licence gone. Now I'm not one to have sympathy for anyone who drives on drugs or after a few beers at the pub, but I did feel a bit sorry for my mate. We've all woken up and just wanted our own bed so badly, just to drive around the corner and home on a quiet Sunday and get in bed. I don't think this deserves a ban, insurance hikes, and losing your job (delivery driver). You can judge, but hindsight is a .... And I know so many people who drive the next day, especially the older generation ! Anyway, the point of this topic is this: any experience with breathalyzers? I mean buying them and using them, as I'm a fan of the pub myself! It's an interesting topic to debate; some people have sympathy and others none at all. PS this isn't the "My mate but I really mean me" topic, I'm proud of my clean licence!
  11. Can you believe my budget was £4K and now I saw these and just had to find the money somewhere? They're beautiful cars. I just hope I can handle the power! What sort of adapter will I need for AUX? I saw that tutorial on installing it, but I'm not one to fiddle with cars like that. I do need to pop to Halfords and get a breathalyzer as my mate lost his license getting caught driving over the limit the next day! I'm one to enjoy a drink on a night out and plan on driving this to the pub and leaving it there or at a mates until the AM... But I'm getting off topic here. Can you imagine buying a car and losing your license for being over the limit the best day? Ouch! So excited to get behind the wheel of one of these. Please feel free to throw any other advice you lads might have my way.
  12. Great advice Thanks, J! Good spot on the FSH... I'll have to inquire about that. The dealer has called me trying to give me the standard dealer-talk, which I'm not one to fall for! I know I saw this mentioned somewhere else in an older thread, but why not mention it again in a new thread and get some fresh answers? When changing the HU, would that require all of the speakers to be changed also? I'm happy with standard speakers at first with a new HU, if that's even possible. Recommendations are always appreciated. Also, I've seen some photos here of black alloys and... wow! If I get the money in a few months I might have to get a black refurb, it just looks so beastly!
  13. Thank you! Ugh, this issue with the Bose sound system sounds very frustrating. I love listening to music when I drive . Nothing like a clear journey on the motorway (rare, but it happens!) and you can blast some good tunes and fly by. I remember when I used to drive from Essex to Maidstone every week and would leave late so I could get a clear run, and just blasting some tunes on the M20. Had a lot of fun even though I was in a Fiesta! Ha! I wonder if it would be worth getting the HU replaced? But then I'm already buying a car looking to fix issues, which is a little annoying because you start going over budget pretty much straight away. Then again, I'm buying this because I love the car, not the stereo... Decisions, decisions...
  14. You're a legend. I'm not in a massive rush, I would like to find one in the next two weeks as I start a new job and will be using it as a daily driver. Would like to get some practice on the roads and parking as I'm a little rusty, haven't driven in a year or so. I'm a careful driver though, so I'm happy to own a powerful car because I can respect it and have never driven like an idiot. I quite like that rear diffuser but each to their own. I'll give the buyer guides a proper read through.
  15. Thanks, Veeg33. I would love to be able to use AUX. What do you guys think of the price of the Z? URL again here: http://www.autotrade...350_z&logcode=p
  16. Going to look at this at the weekend: http://www.autotrade...350_z&logcode=p That is the top end of my budget. Although I have read two different things about the road tax, some saying £505 and some saying £290, which has left me a little confused. I'm looking for a black Z, GT pack would be nice but I hear dealers try to rip you off by hiking the price up loads for it. Also that the BOSE system can skip which requires a fix, would have to inquire whether that's been looked at, but a dealer is just going to say "Yes" just to sell it.
  17. Thank you! Where would be the correct forum to post URLs to the cars I am considering buying, in order to get advice and discuss each vehicle?
  18. Hello all, After much deliberation I have decided to purchase a 350Z. I will be looking this week and will be hopefully behind the wheel this weekend!! Looking forward to meeting you all and getting your advice. Thanks. Joe. EDIT: Going to look at this at the weekend: http://www.autotrade...350_z&logcode=p That is the top end of my budget.
