  1. Hi, I've removed most of the centre console but I am now stuck. I'm trying to remove the top piece of plastic with Bose unit still attached as per this guide. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/56481-kenwood-ddx-4028bt-rear-cam-install-–-superguide/ However, the white (grey?) box under the stereo that I think does the ac is stopping me removing the console. The white peg in the circle is duplicated behind the metal bracket (red arrow) so can't slide forward or backward easily. And the metal mounting tab (red arrow) stops , me lifting the plastic console up and rotating forwards as suggested and seen in online videos. Any help via pictures, words or if your near Leighton buzzard and want to laugh/help please drop by! I can provide tea or coffee......
  2. Had my zed less than a week now, ended up taking it shopping, parked as far away from everyone as possible. On the roof of an 8 storey car park! Didn't think anything of it until the way down where I scraped the front bumper down the roof ramp as it was steeper than the rest....doh! Girlfriend said she wished she took a photo of my face of anger and surprise. But guess I didn't buy it to sit and look pretty on the drive! Hope you're able to repair it as much as possible with as little cost!
  3. What's the delivery time like? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Usual fodder I think mate 3-5 days unless paying for special but pretty reliable Nozzles are much better than your standard rattle can. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk I guess something like this, I'll even be able to get it to match my paint code so can colour match the door handles. https://www.paints4u.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=5423
  4. Reckon these will do the job? http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/car-spray-paints/halfords-plastic-primer-grey-spray-300ml For internal drivers side door handle http://www.screwfix.com/p/plasti-kote-super-multipurpose-spray-paint-matt-black-400ml/33732 http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/car-spray-paints/halfords-clear-lacquer-500ml Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the tips and the offer. No idea where Huntingdon is so googled it, 40 odd miles away, so thanks for the offer but I'll think I'll struggle on my own for now! Little job for tomorrow is figuring out where to get paint from. Also Need to decide on a colour too, want a themed colour so when I get my wheels done they can match.
  6. I'm looking at removing the door handles, the 'z' badges by the side indicator and the z in the rear strut brace so that I can paint them a new colour. What's the process for a complete idiot not wanting to pay to have someone else do it. I'm quite piratical but no idea with paint. Do I sand? Is primer required? Do I use gloss spray paint? And kind of top coat for exterior or interior items? When doing door handle do you prop them open to get all areas? Basically, idiots guide would be grand! If there is a guide I've missed a link would be very useful, I had a look but couldn't see one.
  7. I'll give a polishing a go tomorrow morning as its still pretty clean. I've been using the one below dragons breath, bilberry wheel cleaner, tried diluted as recommended and neat. Neither budged it, girlfriends father has given me some stronger stuff as well to try. Looks like I'll do some reading into the clicking and see if it's something I can attempt with my limited mechanical knowledge and tools! If not, local garage I've always gone to with other cars. Mileage is a few over 50,000.
  8. So, I've always said a new car is never your car until you've done a few things. Taken it on motorway, washed and waxed it & found something you don't like about it. Well today I've done all of those things.... First the good, lovely cruise and acceleration into the motorway, what a wonderful engine. Secondly, also good, nice wash and wax and car looking rather nice BEFORE AFTER (I'll add later when I can remove my number plate from photo But then, the not so good When washing the car I noticed the entire bonnet looks as if it is stained as if something has splashed onto the bonnet and reacted. Waxing (turtle wax) couldn't get it off, any ideas would be massively appreciated. Also, rusting to the hub and rust on the surface of the wheel. Neither coming off with a good scrub. Any ideas? And finally, when I was driving home I decided to have the windows down and the heat on so I could hear the exhaust a bit more. Unfortunately I started to hear a clicking. Every time I touched the throttle I heard a click, and then as soon as I let off I heard the click again. Is this the rear axle clicking I've heard about? I assume not as its not clicking when reversing or solely when pulling off. This is in all gears (at least up to 4th)
  9. Very nicely modified blue zed with a fourth white brake light? I was following in a black HR.
  10. You'd be surprised what you can fit in the boot......
  11. Certainly jerky through slow traffic, although a bit more revs than I was originally giving it seemed to help and certainly made my passengers smile, also I've found it to be easier as the day went on. Took all my family out for a little drive today, they were more than impressed on my new purchase.
  12. Hello, so firstly thank you to everyone who's given me advice or written useful posts that I've read over the last 2-3 months. Today was an unexpected delight. A mixture of a day off work, the right car and the right time mean I am now the new, very proud, owner of a Ebisu Black HR bought on Black Friday...?! So, here is the lovely spec'd car that ticked nearly everyone of the boxes for me, sitting on my drive this afternoon as I arrived home with a grin from ear to ear. Here's a little snapshot of the old and new cars. Think it will be a while before I get used to the power difference...! But my god, that engine just wants to be revved, it sounds amazing. Car is a little dirty but when I've had time to give it a good thorough clean I'll post a few more pics. Now I just can't wait to get back in her and take her for a spin, time to read the owners manual and find any hidden gems I missed in my research!
  13. I've noticed this Zed for sale on Autotrader and I see its got a forum sticker in the window. Anybody know the history of the car? Thanks in advance. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201510137786312/usedcars?logcode=visc
  14. Is it possible to replace the sat nav in a HR with a cubby? If it's a cheap fix aka just buying a replacement cubby? Or will I need to edit bracketry behind the satnav?
  15. Anyone come across EVO-motors.co.uk Seem to have a few zed's in stock and wondered if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with them?
  16. Certainly not going to buy this one considering where it's from and he price they're asking. It was more a question of is this a HR but I guess it's not and instead a Rev-up model. The car I'm looking for is ideally: A Coupe HR model Black, Gun Metal Grey or White Cruise control Less than 60,000 miles £10k or less No modifications (except exhaust as I know they rust) Preferably has the Bose subwoofer as although I'd love to upgrade the whole sound system I'll probably never get chance as I'll be enjoying the engine too much! I know this is a lot to ask for £10k but I'm sure patience will prevail. Or does anyone know of a member selling that matches this?
  17. To be honest it was more of an observation than a serious mpg concern..! Did a few insurance quotes and found that they were almost indentical (actually two were cheaper!) so that's pretty much made my mind up for me. I've also noticed that the HR engine appears to have the plastic cover above the strut bar rather than below. Anyone know about the Rev-up? In terms of interior changes for the facelift I can see a difference in steering wheel controls, a sliding cover in the centre console (next to hand brake), silver gear gator plastic surround and silver climate control dials. Is there anything else that will be a nice surprise for me when I look at another one this weekend?
  18. The tax goes from £290 up to £505, slightly worse mpg, slightly higher insurance and higher servicing cost (or did someone make the last bit up?). Also is the HR only available with the bulged bonnet and general all round facelift because I've found a few examples that are facelift interiors but not bulged bonnet. Example: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201510308277140
  19. Are there any issues or known areas to suffer from rust that are a must check?
  20. Just realised "Zeds for sale"...... Doh
  21. I am also really struggling with the advanced search in the for sale section. 350z & 370z UK - general - trading post - for sale Seems to be everything but 350z's, am I missing something obvious? Thank you!
  22. Good advice, thank you. I didn't want to ask the dreaded P2 / P3 question.....!
  23. To be honest I'd rather buy from a careful owner than a garage with no clue of the cars history. I am struggling to find many pre '06 and under 60k miles.
  24. Wow, glad to see the forum is going strong considering the car is over 10 years old. Thanks for the replies so far guys. Tonneau cover - perfect! I've always steered clear of eBay just because it's so difficult to get decent results for cars but will give it another go! Yes thats the £6995 one on Autotrader that on closer inspection has obviously had a dog destroy most of the interior.... Budget is anywhere between £7k-£10k dependant on mileage and would prefer a pre '06 model for tax regions. Is there a search function I'm missing on the for sale section of the forum as I seem to find it impossible to narrow down without opening every thread. How do I get it contact with the dealers for parts? PRivate message or do they have online stores? Thanks once again.
