How modified is modified?

Hey, welcome along!
This forum has helped soo much over the last year and a half of my zed ownership, first place I come if I have any questions/issues!
That colour is pretty cool too!

Arrived this afternoon.
"Are you looking to part exchange that?"
"Err... Not really, I'll be trying to selling it privately."
"Good, we wouldn't part exchange that Nissan"
"I haven't asked you to."
"Are you looking at any other cars?"
"Yes, it's quite a change from my current car, and obviously I'm not spending 15 grand without considering a few options."
"You can only drive it if you don't have other cars to look at."
"What?"
"You can only drive it if you don't have other cars to look at."
"What?"

Great service at Global Automobiles Limited in Blackburn, they hadn't even bothered to mention the engine management light either. Judging by the battle the other customer was having to get some advisories from an MOT done before he purchased a Merc, I'm quite pleased to have established the level of customer care you get when spending 15 grand, up front, not when it's too late.

This is incredible, what an absolute moron!
Atleast you hadn't spent £15k with them - Good luck finding another one locally - hopefully one without a better salesman!

Ah nice one! Hey Fiddy Zedí ½í¹‹í ¼í¿¼
Thankyou, she's on tein springs. Her larger than life wheels make her stance pretty attractive even if I say so myselfí ½í¹ˆí ½í¸Ž
How low is she sitting? and are you running Rota Drifts?
Are you local around that way?

The only major plus of the HR for me was the position of the dipstick
The dipstick on the DE is about as useful as a bloody chocolate teapot!

Was coming home from work and first car I pull behind of, is a silver 53 plate 350z. Was at Shannon's corner by Krispy Kreme roundabout. Both signalled to say hi í ½í±‹í ¼í¿¼
Love the friendliness of Zed owners í ½í¸Š
Hey Stephanie,
Yeah that was me  !
Your Zed sits very nicely I must say

That's a real shame, correct me if i'm wrong but that meet has been running for quite some time.

3. Boot lifters are shocking, it takes quite some distance of lift to actually get the boot to lift on its own. Is it worth just replacing the lifters or trying the penny trick? I read the penny trick has damaged some cars.
boot lifters - replace the gas struts if the boot wont hold itself up and tries to eat you, do the penny trick if you need to lift the boot while pressing the release button to get the boot to open. I used pennies, they didn't damage my car as far as I can see. I used 3p a side.
Guys - I have this same issue - what's this penny trick I hear of brillomaster?
Welcome and good looking zed Jamie!

Is this happening still on Saturday? Update on numbers?
Thought it might be an idea to postpone until everyones available and we can get a good turn out?
Currently I think only 2/3 would be able to make it as not heard from anyone else?

Hey Valy, awesome build thread! I've always been a fan of the Rocket Bunny Kit! Looking good with the Knight Racer Kit soo far - those wheels are perfect man!

I changed over to multi car policy with Admiral a year ago as my son had just passed his test and got a car and some of the quotes he was getting where stupid, On their multi car policy managed to get him insured for 750 fully comp for the first year and it just came down to £550 and I pay less than £200 for the Z & £220 for our 64 plate Quashqai DL postcode
Jesus! Less than £200 for the zed haha
How does the multi car policy work? If one person on the policy has an accident does everyone lose their no claims bonus?
It's still 3 separate insurance policy's just all under admiral, One in my sons name for his car us as named drivers, One in my name for the Z with the wife as a named driver, and the Wife has got the Quashqai with me as the named driver.
Oh is that all? I thought everyone was interlinked etc etc - might have to get onto the multi car policy!

Last minute plans mean I can't make Saturday Sorry! I'm off to London early afternoon and not sure if I'd get back in time.
No worries mate - will have to find a date that works for everyone and reorganise!

I'm guessing this wouldn't work on a 53 GT? I have the phone connector thingy in the armrest... could i switch it over to bluetooth?
-
I also had a sticking clutch and I knew I had to replace my clutch too so at first I replaced the clutch. When I got it back the clutch felt much lighter and the biting point was much higher... few weeks later the sticking clutch came back so took it in and got the slave cylinder done and the clutch hasn't stuck down since!

We originally tried fitting it with 3M tape, but when Alex's was being fitted mine was in the sun and one side decided to pop up So in the end we decided to go for tigerseal, which worked perfectly!
Heres a pic of the view from inside:
I took this a while ago and have added small rubber strips under a few of the blades because they would rattle against the glass if I ever went 80mph+
Looks good - I thought it'd really impair your rear view!
Hmmm to get or not to get... :ninja:

The way it stands at the moment looks spot on!

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
I put the same post up on another forum I'm on which mainly has middle age women on it. The amount of replies I got saying that they would be offended if they heard their SO ask their father was amazing! Saying that their father doesn't own them and it's nothing to do with them. Was quite funny.
What I think I will do is tell him I'm proposing. I don't need permission, if he was to say no I would still do it.
If I do it its probably going to be tomorrow as I have heard we are meeting them at revival! Lots of nervous poo's tonight!
How did it go Jimboy?

Sold - Mods could you lock.
-
All I got was a bit of paper saying " sold as seen, no warranty implied or given, no refund or returns," some risk assessment forms and asked to sign a liability waiver.

If you get nervous with any sort of confrontation, rather than ask - just tell her old man about your plan (Not in a rude way).
Rather than 'Can I marry your daughter?' maybe go for the - 'I'm planning on asking your daughter to marry me but I wanted to speak to you out of respect...'
Do you get on with her parents?
I spoke to my fiancee's dad beforehand - I get on quite well with the in-laws so it was quite a normal convo to be fair. He really appreciated it and was very thankful but as many people have said on here it all depends on the family etc etc.
Good Luck!

Price drop to £80 for 2 tickets...

I keep meaning to try and get to this event each year but it clashes with a family birthday. Dam
I had the same issue with Salon Prive this year!!
Perfect excuse to take them along to Revival :teeth:

Have you got your costume sorted?
I'll be down there too, I'll keep an eye out for your Zed!

Hey Zippypooz,
Have you got any pics of the rears before you had the arches rolled?
What are the main benefits? just so tyres don't rub when you go lower?
Cheers
