  1. Hi all, so yesterday I took my zeddy to PTS in Climping, not far from Worthing/Littlehampton to have my arches rolled.

I thought i'd get this done as I had my sights set on some Eibach Pro Spacers...15mm for the front and 20mm for the back.

As its been lowered somewhat I thought 20mm's may rub on the arches so, off I went...better safe than sorry!

Gotta say, Chris and Stu made me really welcome, loads of cups of tea and a good natter about fast cars, builds and engines!

They obviously know their stuff when it comes to car tuning...and by that I mean serious knowledge.

Was great to see their enthusiasm...even in just rolling my arches and fitting my spacers!

So, after about 2 hours she was ready to go, all done and fitted, so happy with the result.

The stance looks more aggressive, handling feels better and overall looks is a great improvement.

Thanks to PTS...great job lads. Highly recommended.

    Heres some pics...

    Hey Zippypooz,

Have you got any pics of the rears before you had the arches rolled?

What are the main benefits? just so tyres don't rub when you go lower?

    Cheers

  2. Arrived this afternoon.

"Are you looking to part exchange that?"

"Err... Not really, I'll be trying to selling it privately."

"Good, we wouldn't part exchange that Nissan"

    "I haven't asked you to."

"Are you looking at any other cars?"

"Yes, it's quite a change from my current car, and obviously I'm not spending 15 grand without considering a few options."

"You can only drive it if you don't have other cars to look at."

    "What?"

"You can only drive it if you don't have other cars to look at."

    "What?"

"You can only drive it if you don't have other cars to look at."

Great service at Global Automobiles Limited in Blackburn, they hadn't even bothered to mention the engine management light either. Judging by the battle the other customer was having to get some advisories from an MOT done before he purchased a Merc, I'm quite pleased to have established the level of customer care you get when spending 15 grand, up front, not when it's too late.

This is incredible, what an absolute moron!

Atleast you hadn't spent £15k with them - Good luck finding another one locally - hopefully one without a better salesman!

  3. 3. Boot lifters are shocking, it takes quite some distance of lift to actually get the boot to lift on its own. Is it worth just replacing the lifters or trying the penny trick? I read the penny trick has damaged some cars.

boot lifters - replace the gas struts if the boot wont hold itself up and tries to eat you, do the penny trick if you need to lift the boot while pressing the release button to get the boot to open. I used pennies, they didn't damage my car as far as I can see. I used 3p a side.

Guys - I have this same issue - what's this penny trick I hear of brillomaster?

Welcome and good looking zed Jamie!

  4. I changed over to multi car policy with Admiral a year ago as my son had just passed his test and got a car and some of the quotes he was getting where stupid, On their multi car policy managed to get him insured for 750 fully comp for the first year and it just came down to £550 and I pay less than £200 for the Z & £220 for our 64 plate Quashqai :) DL postcode

Jesus! Less than £200 for the zed haha

How does the multi car policy work? If one person on the policy has an accident does everyone lose their no claims bonus?

It's still 3 separate insurance policy's just all under admiral, One in my sons name for his car us as named drivers, One in my name for the Z with the wife as a named driver, and the Wife has got the Quashqai with me as the named driver.

Oh is that all? I thought everyone was interlinked etc etc - might have to get onto the multi car policy!

  6. I also had a sticking clutch and I knew I had to replace my clutch too so at first I replaced the clutch. When I got it back the clutch felt much lighter and the biting point was much higher... few weeks later the sticking clutch came back so took it in and got the slave cylinder done and the clutch hasn't stuck down since!

  7. We originally tried fitting it with 3M tape, but when Alex's was being fitted mine was in the sun and one side decided to pop up  So in the end we decided to go for tigerseal, which worked perfectly!

Heres a pic of the view from inside:

I took this a while ago and have added small rubber strips under a few of the blades because they would rattle against the glass if I ever went 80mph+

Looks good - I thought it'd really impair your rear view!

Hmmm to get or not to get... :ninja: :ninja:

  8. Thanks for all the replies everyone.

I put the same post up on another forum I'm on which mainly has middle age women on it. The amount of replies I got saying that they would be offended if they heard their SO ask their father was amazing! Saying that their father doesn't own them and it's nothing to do with them. Was quite funny.

What I think I will do is tell him I'm proposing. I don't need permission, if he was to say no I would still do it.

If I do it its probably going to be tomorrow as I have heard we are meeting them at revival! Lots of nervous poo's tonight!

    How did it go Jimboy?

  9. If you get nervous with any sort of confrontation, rather than ask - just tell her old man about your plan (Not in a rude way).

Rather than 'Can I marry your daughter?' maybe go for the - 'I'm planning on asking your daughter to marry me but I wanted to speak to you out of respect...'

Do you get on with her parents?

I spoke to my fiancee's dad beforehand - I get on quite well with the in-laws so it was quite a normal convo to be fair. He really appreciated it and was very thankful but as many people have said on here it all depends on the family etc etc.

    Good Luck!
