  1. Thanks mate - I've noticed it does seem to be just after a gear change from 1st to 2nd gear but definitely only after startup.
  2. Thanks everyone! Relieved to hear generally that it doesn't sound like anything too serious. I'll leave it for now, see how it goes and hope it doesn't get any worse.
  3. Thanks Chris, funnily enough I thought that this morning when I took the car out. I'll try that revving idea and see if it does it on standstill. It might be a timing coincidence but it seems to happen just after changing into 2nd gear. But my driver side window motor is getting fixed this week so I have been using the AC more recently so, who knows?
  4. Posted this in 370Z forum by accident! Has anyone else experienced a strange 'grunting' noise (almost like an angry gasp) after starting up, about 5 secs or so after pulling off? Doesn't happen after a stop, just startup and only lasts a second. Seems louder when engine has been off for a while and cooled down. Worried it's something nasty but it's just started over last couple of days. Has anyone had this problem or knows what it could be? Thanks all.

  6. Thank you, I've ordered some Renovo cleaner and Ultra Proofing which seems to get great reviews everywhere and your advice on a temp fix for the tear sounds like a winner. Nice one guys!
  7. Thanks everyone. I was hoping not to have to replace the roof - not had the car a year yet - so just looking at other options. Has anyone had any luck with waterproofing treatments for the roof generally (Autoglym has been mentioned a few times) and repairs for tears?
  8. Hi all, I have two issues with my roof. First one is a small tear (about an inch long) st the bottom of the roof fabric, right behind the driver's window that seems now to be developing upwards with light, barely visible cracking in the material. Second issue that I first noticed yesterday in torrential rain is that the roof is wet on the inside at certain places (it's hardly dripping down into the car but very slightly) and drips of water on the inside of the passenger door handle. I wondered what experiences anyone has had with the roofs on these and if they have any advice for any of these issues. Thank you!
  9. Thanks Jimboy. I won't be letting Nissan touch it don't worry!
  10. Jack I'm sorry but I don't know what that could be. Mine was definitely the undertray. Nissan took it back in and have secured it but today I got a call from their service manager telling me that, despite their "full health check" not picking it up, not even a mention of it on my MOT and after a full service, my middle and rear section of exhaust needs replacing for £500 just for parts . Apparently they noticed it today while the car was on a ramp getting the under tray (that they left hanging out of the bottom of the car in the first place) secured. This is Nissan!! I'm in there tomorrow morning to have it out with them. If I wasn't so furious I'd laugh.
  11. I never knew about the secret compartments! I'm going to have a look now! I've just started reading this thread. Page 1 and I'm loving it already. Great idea!!
  12. It's been an expensive lesson alright Zmanalex. Thanks for recommendation BobbyZ. I'll give them a shout next time anything goes wrong. Hoping it won't be for a while after the morons at Nissan fix their botch job.
  13. Hi Jimboy, yea I'm learning. Interested to see what the manager has to say for himself tomorrow. Definitely using a specialist next time. I'm in Surrey at the moment.
  14. Thanks everyone for your replies. I've had a look under the bonnet and the car and found what I think is the problem. Got a manager at Nissan calling me back on Monday. Livid. Took a photo but unable to post it. Looks like a long thin flap under the engine at the front/middle with a hook/ring thing on the end that has clearly come loose or was never tightened at all. Unbelievable.
  15. Hi guys, This is a weird one. Just had my 2007 350Z Roadster serviced and MOT'd at Nissan and, because it had just broken down before it was booked in, over £2k repairs on cooling fans, bushes and screen washer switch. Now, I've driven it twice since getting it back. Second time last night on a short motorway trip and as soon as I get to 65-70mph I get this flapping noise that appears to be coming from the front/bottom of the car and it literally disappears when I drop speed again. I'll be taking it back to Nissan obviously but wondered if anyone had a clue what it could be so I don't get ripped off. Thanks all. Dave
  16. Thank you Thedon - really appreciate the post. I'll check that out tomorrow. If they run off the same fuse/separate motors and they're both gone I'm confident it's the fuse. I'll update once I've had a chance to get a look.
  17. Hi all, I'm new to the wonderful world of 350Z and I've just had my windscreen and headlamp washers go. No sound, no water - reservoir is full. It's a roadster 07 plate so no rear washer. Do both run off the same motor or fuse? I'm hoping it's fuse not motor. Anyone know where the fuse is? There seem to be fuse boxes all over the place! Thank you! Dave
