  1. if i were you mate i would remove the float bowls on the carbs and clean the jets. put them back together and remove the spark plugs, clean all 4 with a wire brush and put them back. obviously tank would've been removed, make a quick tank, using a funnel tie rapped virtually to the frame will be fine. fill the funnel with fuel and turn it over, should fire up fine.

if it doesn't its probably electrical, check all of the fuses, bandits are renowned for blowing fuses. if all is ok im guessing it could be coils or cdi. while the soark plugs are out for cleaning you may as well Check the spark, if only 2 are sparking 1 coil will have had it.

  2. i had the same problem with mine, i believe it is worse in the mornings, evenings or when there is a bit of moisture on the air. which makes sense as moisture on rubber will slip same as tyres on wet road. I changed the belts 2 weeks ago, put it all back together and it was still as bad. so i removed the undertray gave each adjuster a couple of turns and it has been fine since. my idea was to leave the undertray off for a few days and give each adjuster 1 turn a day until the squealing stopped. Obviously if youare getting nowhere and the belt is obviously to tight something else is wrong. In my opinion it is quite difficult to measure the play in the belt. I believe you are supposed to use a 10kg weight to test resistance and if you are only putting say 8kg of pressure on the belt when you are measuring it it will always be too loose.

Now i am certainly no expert and don’t claim to be, thats just what i did.

  4. i think fitting a full set is the ideal, if im likely to get 2 years or so use out of the rear i guess thats a long time to have mixed tyres. just spent £165 on service parts from hd, getting a new kitchen in 4 weeks and then its cash for Christmas......better start banging in the overtime!!!!

  5. After doing an oil change on my car the other day i noticed the inside of both front tyres are really badly worn. At the moment i have khumo tyres on tje front and on the rear hankook ventus v12 evo that have only done about 3000iles if that. ideally id have mpss all round but would it be ok to put mpss on the front and leave the back?

do you use 2 sets of rears to one set of fronts?

will 4 wheel alignment fix the wear on the inside of the tyre?

  6. guess the only way to tell is to plug it in then? i thought about calling all the dealers who do uprev to find out but if an uprev was done whilst it was on the private reg plate i guess I'll never know as i have no idea what plate it was on. would be fun trying the flat out way

  7. Is there any way to see if my car has had an Uprev??

I bought the car second hand, its a 2004, it has a scorpion exhaust, either a 2006 air box or had velocity stack mod and has a k&n drop in filter.

After reading a few things on the uprev i thought i might save a bit of cash and get it done. if its recorded by reg plate this would also be a problem as it has jad a private plate in the past.

    Any ideas??
