  1. I'm definitely in for a very long day but I'm under no illusions - I remember doing Paris to Bilbao in a day in an Alfa 159...I started to get so numb I could hardly feel my legs!
  2. could be worse... the other week I did Folkstone to Durham in a day. Detour via Rockingham speedway to visit friends for a few hours. Did a few hundred miles sighseeing while up there. and back the next day. It's too easy in the Z. Calais to Basel will be a much nicer, easier drive. Only decision is to pay the toll roads or go the parallel scenic roads and save the £. You're rigiht about the Redbull, I always have the essentials ready in the car: pair of emergency sunglasses and a couple cans rockstar or the cheapest no-name brand drink. Wow, that's a drive! :/ Any advice on whether the non-tolled route would be realistic in a day if starting in Calais at 10am?
  3. Folkestone to Basel in one day is not my idea of a fun road trip. Take plenty of red bull with you!! Yeah that is going to be a long old drive on the first day but it does get us to the more interesting roads sooner so it'll be worth it Some strong but questionable French service station coffee will see me through..!
  4. Too right, you wouldn't want a 4am start beforehand! Well I've gone for it and booked it, decided it was overdue that I got on a track.. Now to decide on accommodation and whether to insure.....!?
  5. I hear you.. Need to make a plan for the 2 hr travel and the 7:30 start but I think I'll go for it.
  6. http://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/calendar/2015/july/05-sn-nov.aspx I'm thinking of booking this as a first track day should any others be interested..
  7. I'd say not a lot to take out of the audience questions but thought Miliband dealt with Paxman dreadfully while Cameron actually seemed to respond well. Like it or not...round 1 to the blue team?
  8. Thanks, this looks really promising...it says the Xanavi X7 covers 350Z '05 - '09 but it says "Please double check your previous disc to ensure this is the correct product for your system. The Xanavi X6.0 and X7.0 are separate systems." My previous disc doesn't have any reference to Xanavi but NAVTEQ, do you know if I'm likely to have any issues with compatibility or it being a different program? Really don't know, best to give them a bell or an email to check. Got my new disc through...it's all good. And nearly 90% cheaper than from Nissan - thanks for the link!
  9. Ha, bargain.. You may as well keep the change mate!

  11. I've got a trip to northern Italy planned for early June so was really interested to see your northern Italy route but it turns out it's all the places I'm not going!! My route is to get from Folkestone to Basel in the first day and then head through the Dolomites (including Stelvio) and on to Lake Garda, Venice, Florence, on to the coast and then back up to Switzerland (Geneva/Lausanne), maybe stopping in Dijon and Reims on the way home...should be awesome!
  12. I've got an '07 350Z and I'm looking to get an update for the original '06 SatNav disc. Having done a bit of a search and found not very much, I called Nissan and got a cost of about £220 inc. VAT. I know that these discs are always expensive but I'm really not keen to spend that kind of money on a software update if I can help it but want to sort one out before a drive to Italy and back in a few months - anyone know if there's a cheaper way?
