Thanks guys That's cool your never going to please everyone, the world would be a boring place if we all had the same taste my opinion is it looks more aggressive yellow and black. I am considering doing the roof gloss black I wouldn't paint it I would wrap it in gloss black vinyl so its always reversible, but I do like the 4d Carbon too so I'll think on it......

Well the final stage of the mods is complete or so I thought Ive now had my brother-in-law make me some wheel spacers he owns an engineering company which is handy as there free all I had to do was buy the extended studs. Anyway here's the spoiler painted and fitted then cleaned and waxed: A couple of close ups: And it in all its glory: A few shots of the spacers my bro-in-law made me: Just waiting for the studs to turn up Monday..... Well my spoiler turned up yesterday so I prepped it and finished off its rough finish that I received it in then last night I had a go at wrapping it, After seeing it in the flesh I realized wrapping it might not be possible so last night I used an off cut and had a go at wrapping the difficult part and I was right...... So this morning I got into work at 6am to spend a bit of time prepping it for paint I couldn't decide if to go gloss black to match the wheels and handles or Have a stab at trying to match the pearl Yellow this was the reason I was going to wrap it in the first place so to not have to worry about the colour match. BUT I was unsure if gloss black would be to much so I had a crack at trying to match the yellow, like Iv'e said before matching a 3 stage pearl is so so difficult due to so many things that can effect the final shade but any way here it is in the booth: Primed: Base Yellow on: Pearl coat: Finally Clear coat: I sprayed it in my 30 min tea break at 10am so after a 30min bake at 60 degrees at lunch I offered it up to the car to check the match and although it was better than I expected it wasn't good enough for my OCD'ness so back in the booth it goes and I planed on blowing over it with gloss black after work but during the afternoon I was thinking about it and took a different route.......... After work tonight I cracked on Masked off: I then base blacked the areas unmasked then removed the masking and clear coated the whole thing again done this way you don't end up with a step between the black and yellow The advantage of doing this way it breaks up the 2 yellows and you wont be able to see a shade difference and It also complements the gloss black of the wheels and handles also the side profile of the side pieces mirrors the side profile of the gloss black rear lights. Anyway I will get to see if it was the right decision in the morning when I get into work and offer it up........

Thanks, The spoiler is all that's left on my to do list, but Im sure I'll think of more things to do........ With the resonator removed it sounds awesome, I was considering getting a system until I removed it and I'm not now as I'm really happy with it.

It looks like it could have been OEM the way it just look right on the car? How good was the fit?

Thanks guy's The light tints are done by a process of using standard car lacquer and adding a little bit of black ( 10% is the amount I use) do it this way gives them a great high gloss finish and although they look dark they remain very translucent: Surface keyed: Light dusting first coat: followed by 2 heavier coats: Unlike the cheap can tints you can buy this way even the reflector still reflects very well even with my led flash on my phone in daylight picks it up very easily:

Hi all. Three weeks ago I picked up my 350Z GT4 in Ultra Yellow and since then I've loved driving it and glad I finally got one after considering getting one a few times over the past few years. Anyway it was totally stock when I picked it up and Its now totally transformed, Im a mechanic by trade and I can turn my hand to spraying when needed as we have a spray shop at my work as well as the fully kitted out garage workshop both of which I have access to any time I need outside working hours which comes in very handy. Thanks, I only looked into doing this mod as I had carried it out in the past on other cars with great results and no draw backs. Good thinking on the freezing idea although the only pain with cutting them is holding them because you can't secure them in a vice seeing as there rubber and there's nothing hard to grab onto so you have to just hold them by hand.

One step ahead of you there, I did a 4 wheel alignment check this morning at work I knew before I touched it it was spot on after having it done a few months ago before I bought it by Horsham developments, by dropping the rear 17mm it had moved the camber but it was still within an acceptable range (according to Autodata figures) although I adjusted it back to spot on and there was no effect on the toe that was still spot on. So this mod if your geometry is good to start with it should still be within spec after. To be fair dropping it 17mm is only like having the weekly shopping in the boot and carrying a passenger it's never going to change things that much it not like slamming it 80-100mm on coilovers

As 14N said it's very easy, here's a quick and simple how too: -Jack up the rear one side at a time is fine (use an axle stand to take the weight) -Remove the wheel -Place the jack under the spring cradle and take the weight a little -Using a spanner and socket remove the 17mm nut and bolt from the hub end on the spring cradle -lower the jack and move it out the way -Push by hand down on the spring cradle -Remove the spring -Take the top spring mount and hacksaw off the desired amount (but leave at least 5mm as I have) -Then put it all back together in revers order It's that simple I was able to blast through it in 15mins a side as I had air nut guns and an air hacksaw which really sped things up but it shoukd take you between 30-40 mins a side with ease

The other day I was standing back and admiring my Zed when I thought the only thing that bugged me about it's look was the way the rear sat higher than the front, I'm happy (for now) with the height of the front with how it sits nice in the arch and I like the ride quality so I decided to modify the rear spring mount , I've carried out this mod before to other cars to achieve the look I've been going for and it's always worked great. Also the best thing about this mod is it's free and only took me 15mins a side (with the use of air tools) by doing this mod you don't alter the ride quality in no way because all your doing is trimming the mount down which translates into dropping the ride height and it has no negative effects on any other suspension components as your not adjusting the rebound/stiffness. Thanks Guy's Here's the glass side: Here's a few pics of the Nismo style front lip now sprayed body colour and fitted, bare in mind I'm a mechanic by trade and spraying is something I can get by doing but I only do it when I need something done and I was told by our paint supplier when I ordered it that spraying a 3 stage Pearl and expecting it to match is incredibly hard as so many things can effect the final shade ( colour of the primer used, how many coats of base coat applied, how many coats of pearl applied even the pressure the gun is running at can all effect the final shade) that said Im pleased with the finish/match it's not 100% but acceptable I feel: A few more pics of the whole car showing the rear spats and carbon covered mirrors:

Well after picking up my UY GT4 last Friday I set about making it look how I like and that started with changing the xenon bulbs to 8k ones and fitting LED side lights and number plate lights, I then bought rear spats and a front lip spoiler/valance I originally wanted to buy them in Carbon fiber but my wife was quick to point out that she drives my car sometimes and would probably make a right mess of the front spoiler on a curb so I quickly made a u turn on that idea and bought plastic ones instead but still fancied them in Carbon so I thought I would have a go at wrapping, I've wrapped bits in the past in the 3D carbon stuff and always thought it looked ok but this time I ordered the new 4D stuff and I'm really impressed with how real it looks. When the front spoiler turned up I set about wrapping it and 3hrs later it was done so I went out and slapped it on and then straight away whipped it back off as I didnt like the black on yellow look (glad I didn't buy real Carbon now......) Here's it wrapped and fitted: Today I prepped it and sprayed it in the booth at work, I've left it hanging in the booth to harden nicely over night and I'll fit it tomorrow. Here's it in the booth: The rear spats turned up and I had already decide to paint these and here they are fitted: Now as I bought a whole load of 4D carbon vinyl (1.5mts X 3.0mts) I decided to have a crack at wrapping a few other bits on the car, Even though I'm fitting the Nissmo style splitter I though I'd wrap the center lower section on the front bumper as the splitter is not bonded so I can always remove it easily if wanted: Then wrapped the B pillars: Then I took on the challenging wing mirrors, I've wrapped mirrors before and I've found a way to wrap them that makes them easier. Here's a few of the steps I took pics of: I start by making a small panel to fit the inside edge of the mirror as its a pain to stretch the vinyl to fit nicely round here and you wont see any joins when finished: Next you need to slap the big piece on the back: Then start heating sections and stretching across the mirror backs surface (a hair dryer can be used, I used my wifes arts and crafts heat gun): underside: Here's the join on the inside edge of the mirror on the section I fitted first: All trimmed and finished: How it looks like in the sun it really does look quite convincing the way it reflects the light like real Carbon: Anyway thats where I'm at tomorrow I will fit the front spoiler and I might wrap the exterior door handles, I will have to remove these to wrap them properly so the vinyl can be stretched round the back of them. So that's where I'm at, comments welcome

Where are you based? If not far from me and you can get it over to me I'll happily helicoil your damaged sump for you if you cover the cost of the parts (about £2) and it'll be as good as new, Im near Royston

Thanks, I've not even had it 24hrs and i've already attacked it with a machine polisher (mop) with G3 compound and brought the paint up like new, Im always weary when mopping Nissan's as there paint is notoriously thin but no dramas today and after a clean up after I then applied a coat of wax to the naked paint to protect it.
