  1.

Have you ever tried doing something different with the pre-facelift door cards? I really dislike them as they always look like they have grease spots all over them, despite cleaning with multitude of cleaners.

I get my first 350Z to play with in a couple of weeks' time and it's having its' seats, doorcards, gaiters and centre console revamped. Watch this space! :)

  2. No airbag in it. It's basically leather over the raised emblem underneath. Didn't take a photo of the first effort it was that bad  but this is miles better

Might try ironing it a bit so the emblem looks a bit sharper. With a thin cloth in between so I don't burn the leather

Try a heatgun on the centre pad. As long as it's good leather and you don't heat the same area for too long at one time, it should help to mould the leather to the raised emblem underneath, making it's definition sharper. :)

I know plenty about leather in general and steering wheels in particular so it's always good to ask :)

  3. Top work Si.

The new website is looking good too.

Cheers, Al. Thought I'd better pay someone else to do all the updates and it doesn't hurt to have something that actually looks professional either :)

Anyhoo, the front seats are now all finished and fitted back together:

  4. Wow some great work again..... I really want my cloth seats to find their way to you! Do you do payment plans ☺ï¸

Not a question I've been asked before, if I'm honest! But I am booked up til around September already, so you've plenty of time to save.... :teeth:

We see a lot of work by various people on this forum and to my mind as a trade and a craft yours always stands out to me mate......superb quality

Thanks very much!! There's so much time and effort and attention goes into even just a single seat... but the end result makes all the long hours worthwhile... :)

    Top quality work there

My 370 interior will no doubt end up in your skilled hands at some point :)

    That's what I like to hear!! :D

  5. Another Z32... but this one has front seats this time! :D It also has brand spanking new foam for the front seats, which looks like this:

The only thing not supplied is new headrests, so the existing ones will be "recycled" instead.

So black leather with green topstitching... that'll look like this then:

  6. Well, this is all but finished now - good job as it's all being collected by the courier tomorrow! So, as a parting gift, a pair of doorcards trimmed in red leather with black topstitching and finished with black piping. :)

  7. I am yes, everything that has red stitching apart from the steering wheel

    seats, dash, handbrake, door cards

    Thanks

My concern with this is that parts like the dash and doorcards will need remaking entirely as removing them will probably stretch the leather, making it impossible to refit. :(

Definitely keen for a steering wheel retrim in alcantara. The zed steering wheel is deadly with sweaty palms, such a design fault IMO. As soon as the fun starts my hands are slipping all over the place. I'm not wearing gloves to drive my damn car.

An Alcantara steering wheel retrim would be £180. :)

Very interested in handbrake and gear stick gaitors providing they are owner friendly to fit.

    Payco

Let me get my hands on some templates and I'll see what I can come up with!

  8. Update time: there are lots of red bits that I'll take photos of later on, but there's also this centre armrest cover...

And this binnacle cover, which was a bit of a pain to do! Looks rather nice though (I think) :)

  9.

Well they probably cost a good £1500 I'm imagining so a further 800 bucks isn't too bad to have everything top notch.

    Great work!!!

I wish I could charge that for front seats...!

    Genuinely top top work

    Thank you very much! :)

Looks stunning, more than a fair price for the amount of work that must go into them.

I don't think many people realise just how many hours go into retrimming... so thank you :)

  10. That looks fantastic, I can only image how much this transforms the interior of an older, tired car.

    Top work :D .

How much would this sort of project cost out of interest ??

He's paying just shy of £800 for all the work. And thank you :)

  11. That looks amazing, I've seen so many re-trims where the leather doesn't fit the perfectly and you get wrinkles and almost folds, this isn't one of those! Top job

There's just no point doing it if it doesn't look right, in my opinion. Everything has to be made properly so it fits properly.

I take enormous pride in my work and take the time to ensure that the end result is everything the customer wants and more! :)
