  1. She's back..

I can highly recommend BMC bodyshop in Kings Langley if anyone is looking in this area.. speak to Shane.

They were good with communication, pondered to my ocd needs and the work seems to be of very good quality.

They sent someone to my house to pull the dent out so i didn't wreck my tyre as it was touching the wing.

She's had a new wing and full front end respray with the bodyshop and the geo all checked at wheels in motion in Chesham.

On top of that they corrected my headlights and painted my wipers for free!

Next step will be to redo the ceramic coating to the paintwork after a month once it has fully cured.

And the best thing, I have wheels for the Christmas break.

  2. This is a side road outside my local.. there was a big function that night so it all adds up to be a useless cab driver turning into a driveway then reversing into the wing with corner of bumper on a minibus type mpv thing..

There is a cctv on the side of the pub............. which, as discovered, has not been working since May!! :bang:

I think even above and beyond the rudeness of driving off is the timing over Christmas.

Not to worry she's now going to get a front end respray as a little extra treat..

  3. Thinking of getting the DBA T2s & Hawk pad set up for the front, how have you two guys found them for overall performance, noise and brake dust??

Was looking at some reviews online (American market) and quite a few people were complaining about noise and heavy brake dust

Overall performance - incredibly good based on fast road use

Noise - none, this is my daily no noise cold or hot

Brake dust - hardly any, definitely less than oem and I'm an ocd clean freak..

  4. Cleaning the car the other day i noticed a load of black gunk splattered over one side of the exhaust..

So my stock silicone filled rear bush on the diff has split.

    Two questions..

What do people recommend from experience, a few people offer these kits, whiteline etc..

And probably more importantly as I have no tools.. Japex will probably be replacing for me, can this be done without removing subframe etc..

    Thanks.

  5. Had good results mounted to the front face of the strut brace. Great view through the windscreen and picks up the driver/passenger if needed.

Used the sticky pad mount with no problems and cleaned up easily afterwards.

Discreet enough for Silverstone being tucked away in the back like that.

What did you use to get the height and did you find it moved around a little on the sticky pad..?

I have mine mounted on a curved base on top of the rear strut and to give it height it is on the 'Jam' extension pieces, still get a bit of movement on bumpy ground though..

  6. Get someone to hose water at the area while you are sitting in the car to see if you can trace the entry point.

Yeh, thought about that, but all you can see is where the water comes to the inside at the bottom of the door as first pic..

I can see the line of water where it has traveled down the plastic door trim so Im guessing it is above that which would be by the tweater trim.

So water is getting in here, but it cannot get in from window point, i.e travel upwards without a pressure washer, so must be getting in behind the rubber.. so this only leaves me with looking under the body colour coded trim above the door I guess..

I also just noticed on one of my pics that there seems to be a dribble coming out from behind the flat bit at the bottom of the pillar area.. this kinda tallys up with where we can see water lines down the door trim..

So it is getting behind the rubber then potentially leaking through at the point we can see a dribble.. perhaps!

  7. This is not from opening the door.. The first pic is what I saw with the door shut..

Never had any leaks or water ingress to the car before.. No misting, no 'zeds are a bit like that'!

Car parked on the flat too Graham..

It was after the recent very heavy rain so I guess I'll keep an eye..

What I can't work out is that to leak from the point it is.. It would have to be getting in from the pillar trim as water can't travel upwards and in from the window seal.. this is one of those.. No-one had the same so gonna be hard to diagnose the issue..

What's under the trim above the door glass.. Where it meets the roof? This is the only place that would make sense to water getting in..

  8. So i noticed this the other day after v.heavy rainfall..

Has not occured before, car does not steam up, perfectly dry.. until I saw this dribble..

Door rubbers are in good condition, soft and supple, gave them some shinitsu grease too..

Door rubber on passengers side has same 'indentation' from the triangular tweeter bit as does the drivers side..

Window goes up properly and seats where it should..

    ?? any ideas..
